- Prageeth (10/5): Peaceful stay very close to Sigiriya - We stayed at the Sunshine Resort & Spa Sigiriya for two days. This place was amazing. The best thing about the place is the people. They were so kind, accomodating and helpful from the moment we got there to when we left. You ended up leaving feeling like you made new friends. The location is ideal to visit Sigiriya or Pidurangala as it is very close to both places. You could just walk 200-300 m and be near restaurants and shops and get a side view of Sigiriya as well. The place is very peaceful and quiet but close to everything. Even if you don't have a car, they can organise a ride for you. The rooms have everything you need and looks just like in the photos. The internet was good and stable. We also ended up getting breakfast here and the spread was outstanding. There was a lot of food and each day it was different. We would come back here anytime we are in this area. Nothing. Everything was great during our stay.

- Chris (10/5): Wife's 50th birthday trip. - Sunshine Resort is a great location for a stay in Sigiriya . In superb walking distance of Lion Rock itself and also restaurants , ATM and convenience store .If not fancying a walk then tuk tuks are always available by entrance or easily sorted for you by the staff. We just had breakfasts at the resort and that was lovely fresh food every morning , plentiful and set you up for the day and only needing a snack for lunch. The room had plenty of space and staff were superb for cleaning , sorting any issues and giving you advice on anything in the area or further afield. The rooms are set in a beautiful garden and again very well maintained, they even helped us put up our travel hammock between the trees to chill one afternoon. We would definitely stay here again if ever in Sigiriya. It's a huge shame owners aren't allowed to develop the resort further within its perimeters as I know from speaking to them they would love to do.

Es gab jeden Tag u. a. eine andere lokale Spezialität. Restaurants fußläufig zu erreichen. Viele Ausflüge direkt in der Unterkunft buchbar.

- peter (8/5): Lovely place in Sigiriya. - Nice, semi rural location. Very nice room. The owner was very nice and friendly. He said they had had a lot of cancellation because of the middle east war. Breakfast was excellent. We did intend to have dinner there but because there were few were guests I’m not even sure if it was operating for dinner. The property is a short walk to the village where there are several restaurants. It is not a big village. This place is very convenient for visiting the Lion Rock. Bathroom floor was dangerously slippery.

The location is great, just a minutes walk into town with many restaurants. Lions Rock entrance is also only a 5/10 minute walk from the property.

L'hôtel propose également les safaris puisqu'ils possèdent une jeep; le safari a Eco park etait très bien. La chambre est très spacieuse et la salle de bain est simple mais fonctionnelle. Les petits dejeuners sont copieux. Le directeur et le personnel de l'hôtel sont très disponible et de bons conseils. Je recommande vivement.

- Ishbel (4/5): Very disappointing - if you stay don’t accept room 106! - The location was good - close to restaurants and a couple of small convenience stores. The room I was given was nothing like the photos of the rooms on here - or indeed the room I had paid for. The air con didn’t work, the promised view was of a rubbish tip, the door had a gap at the top making it an ideal mosquito entry route. The hot water was sporadic at best - but I expected that when he told me it was solar powered. When I arrived and he realised I was solo he snatched the second towel off the bed and took it away. The next day I spoke to them and showed them the room I had paid for on BdC - and was moved to a better room - the one I had actually booked and paid for. It was much better and the Aircon worked and it had the promised garden view (although to be fair that is also a bit of an exaggeration). The gentleman on reception looked very taken aback when I showed him the things listed for this property on this website - there are basically none of them available in the room - apart from tiny bottles of shampoo etc. To add to my experience on coming home from dinner any 9.45 last night I found the gates locked! I thought I was going to have to crawl through the elephant fence. Luckily banging on the gate roused the receptionist who told me they shut the gates at 9.30! Would have been good to know that before I went out - I really didn’t fancy a night with the stray dogs and elephants!

The team are so incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. The spa was closed during our stay but the resort has an arrangement that visitors can use the facilities at a neighbouring resort - we were much too busy enjoying the local area and exploring to need this!

Завтраки стандартные, готовят прямо перед подачей. Есть свой внедорожник для экскурсий. Магазинов и кафе очень мало поблизости, поэтому приходится ждать довольно долго своего заказа. Все прямо под боком и шум доходит до отелей, нужны беруши. Нет возможности обменять валюту, для этого нужно ехать в соседний городок на тук-туке или такси, поэтому заранее нужно позаботиться об этом.

We had a great room with nice gardens , air conditioning, TV, large shower and fridge. The staff are to be highly commended! The boss fulfills your every wish and is always there for you. The cook prepares great food, in the morning for breakfast and in the evening a very good dinner. We would recommend the Sri-Lanka Breakfast! The hotel also offers many activities, from safari tours, cooking classes and wellness. We really enjoyed our stay here and would come back anytime.

- Marco (4/5): Wir haben das Hotel nach einer Nacht verlassen. - Die Lage war wirklich sehr gut. Der Besitzer war super lieb. Leider ist das Hotel in die Jahr gekommen. Die Bilder sind nicht mehr so aktuell. Man setzt sich auf die Toilette und hatte Angst mit ihr umzukippen, da diese locker war. Im Zimmer hat es muffig gerochen. Die Lautstärke von der Bar nebenan war kaum auszuhalten. Also wenn man hier schlafen möchte, eher fehl am Platz.

O funcionamento cobrou o dobro do preço normal por um taxi, completamente inflexível. Deixei um powerbank no alojamento e ninguém me enviou uma mensagem avisar. Quando chegámos o quarto nao estava pronto, nem toalhas tínhamos, a tv não estava a funcionar, quarto datado e a precisar de remodelação. O spa? Inexistente. Muito caro para o que oferecem.

- Dorothee (8/5): - Brilliant staff, great location a short walk away from the entrance of the Sigiriya compound, and a wealth of activities to choose from, with great advice from the hotel manager and the whole team who have been very attentive and considerate. Do not miss the elephant safari by jeep, and also the night walk to spot the elusive loris and other nocturnal (or sleeping) animals (best experienced leaving the phones and cameras at home, some things are just best experienced by themselves without a phone in hand). Can recommend as safe place for solo travellers. Nothing to complain about.

- Laura (10/5): - I had a lovely 3 night stay here. The hotel is very comfortable and well situated within Sigiriya for sights and restaurants. I would highly recommend staying here. It is a beautiful location, the pace of life is relaxing and the staff are exceptional. I was made to feel very welcome from the moment I arrived and everyone was very helpful. If you want trips/transport arranging the staff will happily sort this for you as well as giving valuable advice. They were able to arrange a driver at a good rate to take me to my next hotel in Galle. I enjoyed the breakfasts and appreciated the complimentary drive to a local batik factory and herb garden as well as many enjoyable conversations throughout my time there. I would stay again if I am ever back in that area. N/A

En el baño te ofrecen tres mini mini mini geles, del tamaño de un meñique ( lo comparo con sitio mucho más económicos y la generosidad en esos lugares se nota, en este que va más de “lujo” nada que ver ) Te insisten bastante con hacer actividades, pero la verdad que por mucho que te insisten, no nos convencieron No lo recomendaría

- Yolanda (10/5): Heerlijk verblijf met zeer goed ontbijt. - De plek was erg mooi, het was schoon en netjes. De douche was heerlijk warm. Het personeel hielp met alles, de tripjes en het vervoer naar het volgende hotel. Het ontbijt was waanzinnig lekker! Ook in de avond zalig gegeten. Leuke praatjes gehad met de mensen van de receptie. Niks.

From the moment we arrived, the staff and the manager were incredibly kind and welcoming they even greeted us with a refreshing welcome drink. During our stay, they helped us explore Sigiriya and even took us to close destinations free of charge. Thanks to them, we had the best experience visiting Lion Rock and Pidurangala. The room was clean and comfortable, and we really appreciated the air conditioning and mosquito repellent provided, we had no issues with insects at all. Having a fridge in the room was also a great bonus for keeping our water cool. The environment was beautiful and peaceful; waking up to the sound of birds singing was my favorite part. The garden was full of lovely birds and squirrels, it was such a joy to watch them. Breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. It was so generous and delicious that we could never finish everything! We especially loved the coconut pancakes, they were amazing. Overall, we truly enjoyed every moment here. Everyone was so polite, helpful, and friendly, and we felt very well taken care of from the moment we arrived. There was absolutely nothing we didn’t like. Thank you so much for making our stay in Sigiriya so special! 💚 Nothing

Ruchira und sein Team sind super herzlich und bemüht jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen. Sie unterstützen bei allen Fragen und teilen gerne ihr Wissen über die Gegend und sri Lanka. Wir haben uns direkt wohl gefühlt, bei der tollen Begrüßung.

- Kim (7/5): Prima maar niet hygiënisch - De locatie was erg prettig, alles zat in de buurt en er zijn genoeg restaurants! Die aan de overkant is erg leuk overigens :) De douche is prima en het ontbijt was ook lekker Wij hebben 3 nachten geslapen bij deze accommodatie en hebben alle nachten meerdere kakkerlakken gehad. Uiteindelijk kregen we op onze laatste dag (na eigen verzoek) een andere kamer van de eigenaar, dus dat was fijn.

- Laura (10/5): - My friend and I stayed here 1 night, after a long night of travelling we had a warm greeting. The location was great for climbing Sigiriya rock. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and the hotel manager was so friendly! There was a bit of noise from a restaurant close by however it did not disturb our sleep and it didn't go on too late.
