- Yannick (10/5): - Ich hatte einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt. Danièle war unglaublich freundlich und ich habe mich direkt wie zu Hause gefühlt. Sie hat mir bei der Planung meines Aufenthalts sehr geholfen und mich sogar früh morgens zum Busbahnhof gebracht, was ich besonders aufmerksam fand. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen und kann die Unterkunft absolut weiterempfehlen!
- Arthur (8/5): - The place is run by Danièle, a friendly Swiss lady. Speaks german, Swiss-german, English, spanish and probably french too. She was so kind to drop me off in the middle of the night at a busstop when I left the place. The place itself is clean and cozy. There’s a lot of common area space. A kitchen, a garden, a balcony with a hammock. It's also a safe place to be. Just be aware you are just outside the old colonial centre, not in it. Nothing.

Merci beaucoup à Danièle qui m'a aidée dans l'organisation de mes excursions et avec qui j'ai eu des conversations très intéressantes ! Peu d'isolation phonique donc on entend rapidement les conversations de la cuisine mais tout le monde a été respectueux et les conversations s'éteignent à une heure convenable. À 20' à pied du centre touristique mais cela ne m'a pas du tout dérangée.
- Pecenkova (10/5): Best place to stay in Puerto Plata - We loved it here. While the neighborhood, at a first glance, doesn't look the best/touristy, there were no reason to be afraid. Casa Azul is a very pleasant epicenter for all your travels. Clean rooms, absolutely everything – hangers, cabinets, fridge, tables, necessities, a washing machine with a place to hang everything to dry. Great part are the two terraces with a spectacular view of the city or the Isabel de Torres hill. Ofcourse Danielle, the owner, is the best part of the accommodation. She had many recommendations and tips, inside information, anecdotes and she spent one evening with us chatting The kitchen is fully stocked, including a water dispenser, missing nothing Slight downside is the mounted shower head, combined with slightly lower water pressure (but hot water!)

Het huis is heerlijk ruim en heeft een groot balkon en mega groot dakterras. Je mag de was er gratis doen wat echt top is. Het is ongeveer 20 min lopen naar het centrum en de stranden maar goed te doen. Bij het appartement zit alles om de hoek wat je nodig zou kunnen hebben Alles beviel!

Daniele la dueña muy amable y atenta. Siempre predispuesta a todo y muy servicial. La ubicación excelente. Cerca de la Avenida 27 de Febrero y se puede ir caminando a la zona colonial. La zona es segura.

- Aurelie (10/5): - Antes de mi llegada, Daniele me había enviado todas las informaciones para el auto checkin y todo muy bien explicado, ilustrado con fotos. Me encantó la ubicación, ya que se encuentra muy cerca de las paradas principales de las guaguas. Al llegar a la casa, me acogió Daniele con una gran amabilidad y me sentí ya como en casa. La habitación era perfecta para mi y muy tranquila. La cocina es enorme y cuenta con todo lo necesario para cocinar. Toda la casa era muy limpia y acogedora. Me encantaron las tardes en la super terraza de arriba donde hemos podido conversar muy a gusto con Daniele. La ciudad de Puerto Plata es muy bonita y Daniele estuvo en cada momento haciéndome recomendaciones. De hecho, le agradezco mil de haberme indicado cómo ir a playa Dorada que es increíble. Sin duda recomiendo Casa Azul para quedarse en Puerto Plata. Gracias Daniele por tu tiempo, tus palabras y nuestras charlas.

Daniele (the owner and property manager) has done a wonderful job remodeling her home, it’s cozy, clean, and has the most wonderful rooftop and covered patios. The hammock in the shaded side balcony, with the breeze flowing through, is what actually started my vacation after the stress related to traveling. But the true Gem is Daniele herself! She offers her guests the ability to hire her services as a taxi driver to help get to from the airport, and made my welcome so easy and smooth. She is a wealth of information on the Puerto Plata area and for foreign travelers. She makes you feel like a personal guest from the moment you arrive. If you are looking for the resort hotel feel this is not that location. But if you are a traveler that likes to immerse yourself into the locals and really feel like you are a part of the local community of where you are traveling, this will be your home away from home!

I only stayed one night but was happy with the amenities, the room, and my interactions with the staff. It was really helpful to be able to do laundry as well. I would recommend it to friends. The house is a bit far from tourist attractions and the beach. It didn't bother me as I took a moto taxi to explore. I had some trouble finding the place when I arrived in the city.

I arrived in the afternoon of Christmas Eve. She gathered some solo travelers from the hotel and took us for a drive and walk around town. Then she managed to find one of the few restaurants that were open, where we all had a lovely meal together. The hotel is very cozy and homey, with a large rooftop, a terrace, and a garden. The surroundings are quite noisy, but then again, it was the holidays, so perhaps it was louder than usual.

Puerto Plata is a great tourist mecca and I highly recommend the city if you want to learn more about the Dominican Republic. Not any problem I can remember

- Magi (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, very spacious room with kitchen and bathroom, huge balcony, lots of space and the house has a big commen area. The Host was friendly and welcoming. It was a lovely experience to stay in Casa Azul. Highly recommend.
- Pkolehmainen (9/5): Homelike accomodation with easy access. - My host was very, very nice and helpful! The accomodation is very homelike - you have a kitchen, garden, balcony - even an own fridge. Location is ok - not very far from anywhere but also pretty quiet. You get a code and directions to get in at your own pace. A bit pricey.
- Shaz (10/5): Exceptional - The accommodation was very nice, lovely and peaceful and definitely the cleanest accommodation, during my entire trip. Danièle is a very pleasant hostess and it was a lot of fun to talk with her. Unfortunately I only stayed one night, if I had had more time I would have definitely stayed longer, as I felt super comfortable there.

- Jan (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely great accommodation near the centre. The owner is very nice and helpful. You can cook in the kitchen and the owner share many things with you, such as drinkable water, fruits or delicious caffee. If you are tired you can relax in hammock on the balcony or go up to chill on big roof top.

- Jorge (10/5): Good 8 out of 10 - The only thing I would complain about is that we were not given the Air Conditioner Remote. So the room was at a constant temperature. I wanted it to be cooler. Other than that pretty good for the price paid.
- Scott (10/5): Thanks for Wonderful Short Stay - Short trip to Puerto Plata from SD. Easy check-in at 3. I hadn’t realized I rented a room without AC and thankfully one was open and was allowed to change room for additional AC fee. Quiet, safe house and the Swiss Lady is SO nice and fluent in almost every language. If you need a inexpensive yet safe place to stay while exploring area, look no further. There is a Kitchen for you to use, but I didn’t stay long enough to warrant grocery purchasing. There is hot water and also a wash machine if needed. Enjoy

- Abed (8/5): - Overall great stay there. Nice area to live in. A little noisy for my liking because i prefer the quiet places. Danielle is very nice. Having free laundry and water is a huge plus!

- Dot (10/5): - Excellente!! Casa Azul Apartments are fantastic !! The suites and property are extremely clean, well equipped and in the best location! I had a wonderful stay there and will definitely be back. The owner/proprietor is amazing. She made sure I had everything I needed and was very welcoming & friendly. The apartment was a great size, extremely clean, had everything I needed and wanted. The linens were nice, the air conditioning was great, the water pressure was great, the kitchen was well equipped with anything you need for cooking/preparing meals. The common areas shared by all are wonderful. There is a beautiful mosaic tiled patio with very comfy patio furniture and even a dominos table. And the roof top terrace is amazing & huge with breathtaking 360 degree views of the ocean and mountains. The pictures on Expedia do not do justice to this wonderful piece of paradise. It is in a great location, very easy to get to from the airport and walking distance of anything you could want ...food, shopping, music....and very central for those that want to do any of the touristy things in the area. I felt very safe, secure and comfortable and oh so happy staying at Casa Azul. I can't wait to plan my next trip to Puerto Plata and will definitely be staying at Casa Azul. It will now be my home away from home.
