The food is amazing, beautiful hotel with great friendly staff - we recieved a free upgrade when we arrived staff very helpful and lovely showed us more round hotel. • PIERRE (7/5): Séjour tristounet dans un hôtel confortable, mais un peu excentré - Les chambres sont assez confortables, la literie est parfaite. Le parking sur place est un plus indéniable dans le quartier. L’hôtel est globalement triste (et le granite n’arrange rien). Il n’est pas bien entretenu et pas très propre. Le petit déjeuner est vraiment quelconque. Le bar est triste à mourir (nous étions les seuls clients quand nous y sommes allés).

• MAY (8/5): The hotel is in a good location, on site parking available. Great staff! - The room was good, comfortable bed. We had an issue with the shower cubicle door not opening properly but it was dealt with quickly.

• Audrey (10/5): Exceptional hotel - Absolutely lovely hotel. Comfortable, so clean and the staff were all so helpful and friendly. Got parked in the car park at the back for £12 for the night, which was good value and very handy. This hotel is really central to the city centre too, making it an ideal spot. My dietary requirements were met at breakfast too, and I loved how things were labelled gluten-free - made the process of choosing from the buffet so easy. I was even given a carton of soya milk for my tea when I requested some soya milk. This was so appreciated as I often can't eat/ drink things when I am away due to gluten and dairy intolerance. Nothing - I give this hotel 10/10.

• Valerie (9/5): Very nice hotel and staff, would consider staying again now we know our way about a bit better - The hotel.and the room were lovely, we were in an accessable room the first night and we were able to switch to a standard room for the other two nights. Both rooms were nicely decorated and clean. Staff were lovely, especially in the Chop bar. I had a couple of spa treatments and enjoyed these greatly. The food was nice we had breakfast each morning and there was a good choice, we had dinner one night which was also very nice. The fitness centre consisted of 4 machines and a selection of weights, so not a big selection. We noticed that a communal area of the hadn't been vacuumed for a couple of days as there was crushed up crisps over the carpet. The walk to the main centre of town was a bit disorienting as there is alot of roadworks going on.

There were urine stains down the front of the toilet bowl, a film of dust on the bedside drawers and lamps and sweetie papers on the floor from presumably the last occupants. The breakfast was very average and therefore not value for money, I have had better breakfasts at standard Travel lodges. The beds were comfortable but all the pillows were so high none of us could use them.

Every time I went the only eggs available were fried eggs that looked plastic. There were very limited fruit selections.

• Scott (9/5): Relaxing stay at a refined establishment. - We had a great stay - the ambience of the hotel was amazing. The bar was fantastic with great staff and an amazing selection of whisky. The room was really well appointed and comfortable, with a huge bed and lovely linen. The bathroom was excellent - it was part of the reason that I booked, because I prefer a walk in shower to a shower over the bath. The parking is a bit limited and the location is a little out of the way, but nothing major. For the purpose of my visit these weren't an issue, but I could see that they could be for others. When I say out of the way, it is only a short walk from all the major attractions of Aberdeen, so to some this little bit of seclusion might be a positive. With regard to the parking, there are other nearby alternatives that the hotel will give you a discount for.

• Dylan (8/5): Pleased. - The room was excellent, we booked for a basement room and were surprised to be offered an upgrade to a street view room for a small charge. This was brilliant, room was modern, very clean and no noise issues apart from the odd loud car in the street. The beds are extremely hard, not ideal for someone who needs a softer sleep. The pillows are also extremely hard, I’m not sure if this bedding was brand new but it all felt very heavy and hard. Not an ideal sleep in any way, which unfortunately doesnt match the rest of the room, softer mattress and bedding could make all the difference for this to be a 10/10.

The restaurant had great food and atmosphere. Overall very pleasant stay. At the restaurant takes a while to order and prices are a bit higher. Maybe they need extra staff to handle as it is quite busy.

• Patrycja (10/5): Was great stay at Sandman hotel! - The room was large and had a kitchenette. It was peaceful and quiet. The bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything you need. The bathroom was okay, but I think for a 4-star hotel it could have been better or at least refreshed. Other than that, everything was great!
