- Andrew (10/5): Fantastic place to stay. Excellent central location. - The Kings Suite was incredible. A seperate reading room from the bedroom. A bathroom of a size you could hold parties in. And the finest thing was a television at the end of the 4 poster bed that slowly raised and lowered from a cupboard. Nothing at all.

- Reece (1/5): Tiring - The room and the ground of the jockey club Both nights i stayed there was a group of women and men shouting and be loud out side my room and between 12 and 3 in the morning and no on did anything about it i ended leaving at 4 in the more as I was arngy about this

Parking and location to everything Full English breakfast was excellent, although the fried bread has changed. Pancakes were a little cold and a tad mean on lemon and sugar - not the end of the world, as the whole breakfast experience is generally wonderful

Although I was told by the receptionist that there were plenty of places on Newmarket high street to sit! Staff were quite formal and stuffy.

- Jennifer (10/5): We had a lovely two night stay at The Jockey Club rooms and will definitely return. - It was a beautiful building with a lot of History and the rooms had everything that was needed - staff were so lovely and welcoming and lovely breakfasts and it was on the main high Street - though the property was set back in its own grounds ☺️ It would have been nice to have a bar to be able to have a drink on arrival or before dinner but totally get it’s a members club and that is shown in the brilliant room rate ☺️

- Terry (9/5): I would love to come back - What an incredible experience staying at a property with so much history and elegance and class. The breakfast was to die for. The artwork and furnishings exquisite. Absolutely loved it. With luggage to get upstairs with the small lift was the one tiny criticism.
- Julian (5/5): Not the room we booked and upgrade was less suitable. - We always love coming here and so do our family. This visit was disappointing. On arrival we were told we had an upgrade. No-one is going to complain about that but we had chosen a deluxe room for its extra large bed. The upgrade was a flat with facilities we didn't need such as the kitchen and dining room, but a smaller bed. I must have mistakenly booked room only as I had to pay for breakfast which also put a damper on the stay. The Queen's suite, though magnificent to book if we had needed an airbnb, was draughty. we were freezing for a couple of hours as wind blew in all the windows during a rain storm

The staff were very efficient and friendly. Lovely venue too! Maybe a lounge area to sit in, especially as there were 2 of us travelling but staying in separate rooms but that's just something we mentioned would have be nice .

- Graham (10/5): Agreat place to stay with lots of history and character. - This is a great place to stay in central Newmarket. It has loads of character and the room we had was spacious and very comfortable. We had views of the training grounds from our window and watched race horses being put through their routines in the morning. The cooked to order breakfast was first class and the staff were outstanding. Nothing at all.

- Alan (10/5): Exceptional and brilliant. - The whole building was exceptionally interesting and we would have loved to have explored more or it and delved into the fascinating picture galaxies. The bedroom was clean and comfortable with a great comfortable bed and new up to date shower, although finding how it worked needed a degree of interpretation. Breakfast exceeded expectations with superb service. I could go on forever. Lots of stairs and a long walk to breakfast. We would have loved to have dinner there as well. There was a lift if needed.

On arrival we were told breakfast wasn’t available and no refund to cover breakfast. We had to get up early to find a café and pay £25 we hadn’t accounted for. Accommodation was lovely but this spoiled the experience when we had travelled 200 miles.

- beach (9/5): Everything you need for a lovely night’s stay in such an historic building - Fabulous location on the high street with plenty of secure parking. Beautiful building and garden, full of history. Great spacious room with a huge bathroom and despite being close to the high street the room was very quiet and comfortable. All the staff were extremely helpful and polite. Definitely worth paying a bit extra to stay in this amazing place. We were travelling light so it was good to have all the toiletries supplied and robes and slippers were a bonus. The room was a little dark as there’s no ceiling light and the table lamp didn’t work, I’m sure it would have been sorted if we asked but we were only there one night so we managed. The shower could do with a bit of fresh grout and the lip around the top of the bathtub needed a good clean ( you have to be in the bath to see ).A coffee machine would have been lovely as I’m not a fan of instant coffee.

Considering the size and age of the building, and the fact there is so much to clean, the place is spotless. Staff are super friendly and tentative, especially Lauren who absolutely went above and beyond to help and accommodate me, she was amazing.

It has as the name suggests a club atmosphere and it's full of paintings of horse racing scenes and some memobellia. We enjoyed a very nice breakfast to round off our stay Nothing comes to mind

Plus the huge bathroom and a door straight on to the walled garden from the bedroom.
