Guest Reviews
- Patrick (6/5): - somewhat dated ammenities and desk staff on arrival not very welcoming
- Janet (10/5): 1 night stay - Parking easy. Pleasant young staff. Good food at both dinner and breakfast.
- Catherine (10/5): - A lovely, spotlessly clean room, comfy bed together with excellent food made this a brilliant stay. I thoroughly recommend these lovely friendly people and their fantastic Inn. 10/10
- Karen (6/5): - We booked here as we could have our dog stay with us and it was a convenient half way stop from near Inverness to Coventry. The room was fabulous and bed really comfortable, however, it was very noisy because of the A1 and the traffic namely Lorries which kept us awake all night. Otherwise it was ok
- Nick (6/5): - Rooms were clean, but a little soul-less. Staff were lovely and always smiling. There is a noisy kitchen fan on during the day, but it is switched off at about 9, so it was not an issue for sleeping.
- John (8/5): - Very convenient for Holy Island
- MARTIN (10/5): Great access to holy island. - Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Comfy bed, spacious room, great shower.
Food choice was good. Downside the amount of curry my wife had could of been more plentiful. My teriyaki fish needed more seasoning, I don't usually add salt or pepper to meals but in this case had to.
Saying that my 2 friends steak and linguine was apparently lovely. The full English was exceptionally good and plentiful
- Sheila (10/5): - First and foremost must be the staff, never have we met a friendlier bunch of people. Thank you all for making our stay perfect.
The rooms so spacious and clean, quiet and all needs met.
We wish you success as you carry on your business.
- Susan (6/5): - 2 Nights bed and breakfast, near to all places we wanted to visit
- Elizabeth (6/5): - The room was tired. Dinner menu options are poor. Breakfast wasn’t great. Badly cooked scrambled microwaved eggs. Very poor fresh fruit choice. No strawberries yet they are plentiful in July
- Pauline (10/5): - A great base for walking or cycling. Friendly helpful staff. We had a twin room which was comfortable and had everything we needed. The set up works really well as the rooms are separate from the Inn with an entrance for residents to access the restaurant for meals. I would certainly recommend a stay.
- Paul (10/5): Short break - My partner & myself had a lovely 3 night stay at the Lindisfarne inn. Easy access from the A1 with comfortable rooms. The staff were all lovely & made you feel welcome nothing was ever too much, they all work really hard serving food to making drinks behind the bar & keeping the restaurant clean of pots & making customers feel welcome.
If I were to knit pick it would be to have a little more choice on the menu for your evening meal & for the alcohol to be a little less expensive. When you eat & drink there over your stay the bill can soon add up. But we enjoyed the meals we had which were served quickly & efficiently. It’s ideally located to holy island being about a 10 minute drive. Bamburgh castle not too far away either. We would definitely stay here again.
- Melanie (10/5): Excellent food - Very clean, comfortable rooms, spacious
Excellent quality of food on the restaurant
- Mary (10/5): - Dog friendly, staff very friendly and helpful
- Brenda (8/5): - A safe, friendly place to stay on your way to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne.
- Jm (10/5): - We only stayed for a night but was excellent Will be go again.
Very friendly staff and very helpful.
Well done
- Mark (10/5): - Stayed in a family room for 1 night to break up a long journey.
Arrived late but we were greeted by the friendly and helpful staff.
The room was a bit cramped but was okay for our needs as we were going onward the next day.
The beds were comfortable and considering the hotel is conveniently situated next to the A1 the room was quiet.
Breakfast was good with a varied choice. There is the facility to book packed lunches but you need to book the night before.
Overall a good friendly hotel. We would stay again if ever we’re passing through again.
- Alison (10/5): - Lovely room with king bed. Staff, Tilly and Donna were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Surrounding countryside was beautiful.
- Tracey (10/5): Road trip first night - Great room for 3 adults and a dog. Super dog friendly which was a bonus. Breakfast wast vast and scrumptious. Staff were sooo friendly. Will be back!
- Arthur L (8/5): - Superb base
- Pete (4/5): - Next to A1 with limited mitigation. Noisy kitchen extraction both in evening and morning precluded a good nights sleep
- Lori (10/5): - Great staff and great food & drinks at the pub. Easy parking and we were welcomed the moment we opened the door.
Room was comfortable and it's very easy to get to the Holy Island from here. I would definitely recommend staying here, as I know we would again.
- D (10/5): - Check In was quick and easy. Lovely greeting. Loved the idea of foregoing housekeeping each day, in return for one free drink each on the evening. Which we took advantage of.
Rooms were in an external bedroom block. They were clean with tea and coffee facilities. No securit safe though, which would be a good addition.
Our room was near the steps to upstairs rooms and were noisy at times, and was near the rear of pub and extractor fans were loud until turned off, once off very quiet. Beds were comfortable and slept well.
Bathroom door made it quite tight for getting in and out of bathrrom. Would benefit from a sliding door or bi-fold door. Had a good shower and excellent water pressure.
All meals were lovely, quality over quantity. Oinon rings were delicious. Cooked breakfast were delicious, a good start to the day.
All the Staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful.
We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend staying here.
- Adam (10/5): Northumberland Niceness! - Lovely conveniently located Inn, very comfortable rooms and clean. Donna on reception was so friendly and helpful, she is an asset to this organisation. Very decent hot breakfast too.
- Graham (8/5): Lovely hotel in convenient location - Lovely hotel in convenient location. Close to Holy island around 10 miles from Berwick. Breakfast good, room very good. Bar prices a little high. Very friendly staff.
- Philip (10/5): Enjoyable stay - Nice place. Good food. Pleasant rooms. Lively atmosphere in the pub. Enjoyable stay.
- Robert (8/5): - Ideal stop over on my way back from scotland
- Ruth (8/5): - Great service and good location for access to Lindisfarne.
- Alan (8/5): Family Break - Hotel was nice and clean, rooms nicely furnished and staff very friendly.
A really nice breakfast to start the day.
Only negative for us as a family were the restaurant prices, the quality of the food didn't match the high price.
- GAVIN (10/5): - The staff and food were great, room was very cozy and had everything we needed. Perfect location for us to visit the island and have a good walk.
- Ronald (10/5): - Friendliest stay ever. Easy. Good food. Rooms are small but nice. Updated bathrooms.
- Louise (10/5): Perfect stay and amazing staff - We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and cannot praise the staff highly enough! The room was very clean and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere inside the Inn itself. The food was perfect (although dearer than anticipated) One member of staff named Harley was amazing and his engagement with the customers was amazing! He knew how to encourage us to make more purchases and made our stay a very memorable one just by being himself. Thank you Harley!
- paul (10/5): - Great hotel. Will come again
- Kevin (10/5): Great stay at Lindisfarne Inn - Great place. Comfortable. Great food good choice of drinks. Friendly staff. Lovely room. Good parking. Visited before. And had no hesitation about booking again.
- ANDREW (8/5): - Great stay, great fir Holy Island visit and the coastal borders
- sharon (10/5): - Great location for getting across to lindesfarne. Really friendly and welcoming place. Very comfy rooms
- ian (10/5): - In the middle of all places wanted to visit
Good breakfast and evening menu
Staff all extremely helpful
Only negative a bit noisy at night but ear plugs did the job
- James (4/5): - Needs an up date and a deep clean staff where great and busy again we got a disabled room not good
- Karmel (8/5): Fantastic customer service - Fantastic customer service!!! Could not ask for more.
The en-suite had a foul damp smell which lingered but we could not locate where it came from other than that excellent.
- Patrick (8/5): Good location and a good hotel. - Conveniently located 10 minutes from Lindisfarne, this hotel offers comfortable reasonably appointed and clean rooms with an adjacent restaurant.
Staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was tasty and well presented. Excellent breakfast.
- Hilary (10/5): - Noise in room from Kitchen extraction vent, better after close of kitchen after evening service. HGV trucks passing on A1 road at night quite loud. Staff very welcoming and helpful, decent food and cracking breakfast / coffee in the morning.
- Dan (10/5): Thanks for having me! - Had a great stay, thanks to Donna and Faith for their friendly and warm service, really made my stay!
- Charles (8/5): A wonderful stay! - The Lindisfarne Inn, was a great place to stay. I was impressed with the room and in particular the service from the incredible staff at reception and in the restaurant.
- Michael (10/5): - Outstanding staff service!
- rosemary (10/5): - Good value for money
- Treven (8/5): - Very convenient for the planned visit to Lindisfarne. Booking and booking in very straightforward. Accomodation was comfortable, good ameneties, everything worked, all very clean, good size bathroom and shower. Staff welcoming, helpful, friendly and chatty. Reasonably well stocked bar. Average pub meal prices. Good breakfast. Would go back again and recommend to others.
- Graham (10/5): Overnight for Pilgrims walk - Perfect location for Holy Island trip. Good room and decent sized bed. Friendly staff and a great breakfast. Really great value.
- Mark (10/5): To be recommended and good value - Very well appointed room in extension of the pub/restaurant. Great dinner and breakfast. Good menu. To be recommended and great value
- Graham (10/5): - The staff were excellent, from the first impression to the last. They all were friendly, very professional and we were put at ease straight away.
The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious.
We did have a meal and the food was nice but i have had better. I must say it was all value for money and would stay there again.
- David (10/5): Great Hotel - Lovely friendly comfortable hotel, very convenient for travel to Scotland (where we were headed) and a visit to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. Staff were super friendly and helpful, food good and rooms clean and comfortable
- Sarah (6/5): - Room wasn't clean shower smelt of vinager staff were friendly cleaner stole my personal towels that i took dogs barking most of the night didn't get much sleep
- Gavin (10/5): Tip top - Definitely stay again
- Brian (10/5): Holy Island - Excellent accommodation-typical pub food very good quality and plentiful. Dog friendly hotel. Ideal location for Holy Island only 5 minute drive.
- Miriam (10/5): - Excellent 2 day break for us - lovely location, everything we needed. Staff went above and beyond for us. Good sized and well decorated room - fan, iron, ironing board and hairdryer in the room. Bed super comfy. Shower hot and a good flow. Tea, coffee etc in the room and we were told to ask of we needed any more. Breakfast good quality, good choice and plentiful. Evening meal good value and really tasty. Good location for getting to Holy Island first thing in the morning for when the causeway was open and without having to drive too far.
(Noisy fan from kitchens could be heard but we were told it would be turned off over night and it was)
- mark (4/5): - For the price we paid it was the worst value for money hotel you could imagine. Like paying £50 for an ordinary greasy hamburger. Worth £60 a night NOT double plus
- Jonathan (10/5): Great stay - Friendly place. Really enjoyed our stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): wholly in favour of the holy isle - Only a one night stay but we would have been happy there all week! Great meal in the evening and a tasty breakfast.
- David (10/5): Great place to stay over. - Great place to stay. Superb accommodation and food. Staff the best I’ve seen and had the pleasure of meeting very chatty , professional and friendly. Def would return.
- Catherine (10/5): Great little place to stay. - Super clean, modern comfortable rooms with everything to hand, spare pillows and towels, tea, coffee, milk, sweetner and biscuits. Staff super friendly and helpful. Parking. I didn't take mine but noticed its also dog friendly which is great.
- Timothea (8/5): - Over night road works on a main road next to the property. Would recommend to others as a stop over. Very friendly and helpful staff
- Tania (8/5): Room - Arrived early and was able to leave bag. Came back to check In and had to wait an additional 45 minutes as room wasn’t ready.
Very friendly staff and were able to provide details on getting to Berwick. Breakfast the following morning wasn’t great, but wasn’t bad. Unfortunate that check out is very early. Only other think I wasn’t keen on was the bathroom had a weird smell.
- Gordon (8/5): Weekend break - Totally enjoyed our stay the staff are a credit to the hotel food was very good breakfast very good Ron’s clean and plenty room would definitely stay again
- Mrs Deborah (10/5): - Clean, warm comfortable and very friendly helpful staff
- Caroline (6/5): Weekend away - The rooms were small but clean and comfortable. Good supply of pillows. Shower hot and nice shampoo supplied. The room heating was efficient. Despite being on a busy room we were happy to sleep with window open without being disturbed by noise.
The staff were very attentive and friendly
The dining room was a shambles with long waits for food and on the Saturday night nearly as much food off as on. The dinner menu was not that interesting and seemed to lack salad options, but they may have more in the summer. Breakfasts were tasty although service was very slow.
- Rhiannon (10/5): - This was a great place to stay on our Northumberland Coastal Path trip. Very clean and comfortable room. The food was good and the location was ideal. Even though it is right on the A1 it is surprisingly quiet inside.
- Gordon (8/5): - everthing was excellent. the only small problem was getting my disabled wife into bed,the bed was to high after fitting furniture supports under the bed legs so that the Sara steady lifting device could get her into bed. Would definately stay there again.
- Barry (10/5): - Really nice hotel, clean fresh rooms, friendly staff at check in and meal times.
- Jerry (8/5): - Upon first arriving, I was concerned that the Inn is located 10 miles from Berwick on a two lane highway. We then discovered that public transit runs just outside the door - taking us easily to Berwick and Holy Island. There are some nice country roads for walking. The old Inn building with restaurant and pub are charming, food is good, staff are excellent, the rooms are in a separate building - small but clean with updated bathrooms. All in all - we had a good experience here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff and good standard of room meals good but little or no vegetables with main course.
- Frank (8/5): - The quality of the room was excellent. Everything one could need was there.
- Robin (8/5): - Good accommodation. Good food. Good service. The inclusive breakfast excellent. Could be improved by adding fruit to the choice and perhaps proper cooked porridge rather than the instant variety provided.
- Gerrie (10/5): - The rooms were very tidy, clean. Friendly staff, actually all good
- Harriet (10/5): Impromptu stay - pleasant surprise - We had to suddenly stay overnight as our car broke down. Our room had enough space and comfortable beds, with a good en suite. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good. Very convenient on A1 but not too noisy as the rooms were behind the inn, not facing the road.
- Peter (10/5): - Excellent accommodation with friendly helpful staff, close to Lindisfarne Island and Berwick on Tweed.
Will recommend, many thanks, Peter Higgs
- Steven (10/5): An A1 Inn 😁 - A very warm welcome from the staff. Food cooked fresh and excellent but you best book a table for your evening meal, breakfast plentiful. Rooms very clean, bed very comfortable. Hotel is perfectly located between Holy island, Berwick-upon-Tweed and Bamburgh . walkers with dogs & cyclists are welcome too. There is secure storage for cycles .
A big thank you to Zoe & Donna and all the staff for making us feel very welcome .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great for exploring - We had a good stay and it we brilliant for exploring the surrounding areas. Breakfast was good, infact there was no issues and we had a really lovely stay.
- Stanley (8/5): - Staff were very friendly and helpful
- elaine (8/5): Two night break - Great two night break in 5 minutes by car to LIndisfarne, easy access to Bamburgh Berwick and Seahouses. Good to vist, Rothbury. Wooler and Ford/ Etal.
Direct access to rooms are good for travelling with a dog.
Ample breakfast choices and good bar food
- roy (8/5): - good location, good service, friendly staff, motel type room
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Felt welcome as did the dog. Food was good and served fresh.
- Kate (8/5): - Staff were nice and efficient and the room was clean with everything required for a good night's sleep.
- Paul (8/5): A convenient stopover for Holy Island. - Comfortable stay with the staff being very helpful. The only disappointing element was the food which was less than impressive. The in house kitchen needs to up it’s game.
- Michael (8/5): Clean and a great location to visit holy island - Great spot to get over to Holy Island the next day. We were in room 11 which was on the ground floor so good for access to the carpark but there was no WiFi in the room which was a shame.
Food was good pub grub.
- Nigel (10/5): - The staff at Lindisfarne Inn were very welcoming and friendly. The room was clean, comfortable and very well presented and included doggy treats for our pet. Dog friendly hotel with great access to Holy Island and Berwick upon Tweed. The evening meal was delicious and the breakfast had so many options even for vegetarians. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I’m usually the harshest critic but I can find no faults here. An excellent choice and we will definitely stay again.
- Michael (8/5): Half term break - Not ideal as my wife needs a wheelchair to get around. Wheelchair ramp is very steep so difficult to get in and out. Steps from car park at rear need replacing with ramp. However staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful.
- Fiona (10/5): - Welcoming, helpful staff.
- William (10/5): - An excellent couple of nights stay at the Lindisfarne, clean comfortable rooms, good food and friendly staff.
- Caroline (10/5): - CleN with good room facilities. Shame the carpet was still damp from cleaning.
- Jordan (6/5): Great room, no rush to have the food again - Nice stay, very comfy bed. Shower smelt quote bad of sewage. Pizza really didn't feel hand stretched, felt quite standard. Overall not massively impressed with food, breakfast was a let down hash browns over fried and seemed like done in same fryer as kippers.
- Kelvin (10/5): A good stay - My stay was good, the Lindisfarne Inn was very clean and the staff were friendly, efficient and attentive.
After checking-out and getting home I realised that I had left my computer charger and phone charger in the room, the staff immediately posted these 'special delivery' to my home address.
Great Service!!!
- Damian (10/5): - Lovely room and good service
- LUCIE HELENA (6/5): - Easy parking. We stayed two nights in room 3. The beds are very uncomfortable, the mattress has nothing to it. Small rooms but ok just for two night. Restaurant served lovely breakfast and we had dinner one night also great!
- Valerie (10/5): Nice place - Nice warm welcome and lots of information on arrival.
Really nice fresh room, crisp white sheets and towels.
High spec bathroom with nice products for our use.
Had a good nights sleep.
Well organised bar/restaurant for social distancing etc
Nice breakfast.
Would definitely stay again 😊
- Janice (8/5): - Great food and staff - beds need replacing though - could feel some coils poking through- but overall excellent room - very nicely updated shower and toilet!!
- Christine (6/5): - Kitchen extractor fan is located too close to the bedroom Windows. Staff are pleasant and friendly. Bed comfortable. Bathroom facilities good.
- James (10/5): Wonderful stay. - Initially booked for 2 nights as a Birthday gift for my partner but she was so impressed by the accommodation we added an extra night. We had breakfast on two occasions and booked an evening meal, the food was excellent and service was first class as the staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome. I thoroughly recommend the Lindisfarne Inn and will be returning in the near future.
- David (6/5): - On Main A! road - not how I had imagined to be -no atmosphere,a pub with motel style rooms.
- Susan (10/5): - Nice and friendly very clean and staff very friendly and helpful
- Verified traveler (6/5): Our stay in Northumberland - Restaurant furniture was looking very tired, the seat of one chair was ripped which made the area look very shabby.
Bedroom was comfy wished there was more storage with draws not shelves.
The food was beautiful and so tasteful, we had most of our meals here.
- Frances (10/5): - Most friendly and obliging despite having issues with power in the kitchen and so being under pressure.
We have stayed before and would do so again.
