• Monica (3/5): Dissapointing. - The Pool is nice, the staff are sweet. I am really disappointed. I am an avid traveller and consistently book with booking.com but this listing is very misleading. The views are not mountain views from the property. We booked specifically a mountain view room, it was really not the best. In fact we didnt even get the mountain view. They gave us a back parking view room. The balcony was extremely cramped (not matching the images on the listing OR the description) The food was subpar from the in room dining, they didnt have basic facilities like an iron etc in the room. Really really not worth the money I paid. I feel a little scammed.

Staff member at reception was rude - this was our only negative experience in the whole trip. The person who checked us in - was quite patronising and not friendly at all. A real contrast to every other Sri Lankan person we met. For the price the room is quite underwhelming and outdated.

Das Hotel liegt an der Hauptstrasse und ist nicht, wie es den Anschein vermittelt, umgeben von Teeplantagen. Bis auf die Zimmer stinkt das ganze Hotel (Gänge, Restaurants, Frühstückraum) nach Fett und Küche, so dass man danach die Kleider wechseln muss. Wir würden dieses Hotel hauptsächlich aus diesem Grund nicht empfehlen

• Hans (7/5): mooie kamers en een prachtige omgeving, maar de service en algehele ervaring blijven ver achter bij wat je van een 5-ste - De hotelkamer zelf was echt geweldig: ruim, mooi ingericht en comfortabel. Ook de omgeving met de tuinen, bomen en planten is prachtig en goed onderhouden — absoluut een pluspunt. Positief is het à-la-carterestaurant The Sackville, waar we goed hebben gegeten. Dit hotel is wat ons betreft geen 5-sterren waard. Bij aankomst werden we ontvangen door een zeer onvriendelijke manager, wat meteen een negatieve eerste indruk gaf. Ook het personeel bij de receptie was totaal niet klantgericht en weinig behulpzaam. Bij vragen, bijvoorbeeld voor een buggy, werd er simpelweg “yes” gezegd en direct opgehangen — zonder verdere service of uitleg. Het ontbijt was echter een teleurstelling. De eetzaal is een grote chaos, ongezellig en bovendien erg warm. Het buffet zelf is prima, maar de totale ervaring is daardoor niet prettig. Het hotel lijkt vooral gericht op gasten uit Sri Lanka en India, wat op zich niet erg is, maar als internationale gast mis je hierdoor een stukje service en beleving. De spa-ervaring viel ook tegen. Bij aankomst geen intakeformulier, geen welkomstdrankje en na afloop geen thee. Er werd niet gevraagd naar voorkeuren zoals olie, waardoor de massage onpersoonlijk aanvoelde. De massage zelf was overigens wel oké. Tot slot sliepen de matrassen erg broeierig, alsof er een plastic laag onder zat — wat het slaapcomfort niet ten goede kwam.

They really could not have done enough. They greeted us from the car, brought us up to the room which was beautifully decorated with flowers for his birthday and the most beautiful chocolate cake. We went up to the swimming pool in a golf buggy, the buffet was out of this world, the staff were so kind, the price was reasonable. Suffice to say we will always remember this hotel ! Nothing

• Cyrill (6/5): Okey but not worth the money - Location and view The hotel is a nice place with good view but it‘s not what one would expect from a five star hotel and therefore absolutely overpriced. The staff is friendly but not authentic. They did their duty but were not interested in making it a good stay for you. The pool appears quite inviting in the photos, but its architecture causes it to become extremely noisy very quickly, making it less relaxing. The rooms, particularly in the main building, are quite old. The bathrooms need an update, and our door didn’t close properly. The overall soundproofing was poor, so we were constantly woken up by every sound in the corridor. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, but the quality was mediocre. Everything was cold and unappetizing. They only served filtered coffee, and cappuccinos came with an extra charge. Overall, the hotel is okay, but it falls short of what we would expect from a luxury hotel that charges accordingly. Given the price, we cannot recommend staying here.
• Amdadul (10/5): Excellent - We visited for our honeymoon and had an incredible experience, Madushani was also a pleasure to deal with and provided great service. Setting was beautiful and room was spacious and very clean, lovely balcony with jacuzzi which was the icing on the cake. Breakfast was excellent with many options. Highly recommended!

• shannon (9/5): Beautiful location and stunning facilities - The facilities are excellent, especially the indoor heated pool and the separate restaurant. Loads of staff on hand to make the stay welcoming including golf buggies to take you around the hotel grounds. Breakfast is buffet, would prefer a menu option
• Sirli V (9/5): Peaceful and luxurious hotel in the mountains. - Very beautiful hotel, comfortable bed and jaccuzzi on the balcony. The location a bit remote and far away from the main attractions.
• Heidi (8/5): - Es gibt einen relativ grossen und geheizten Pool und die Aussenanlage ist sehr gepflegt. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist nicht gerechtfertigt. Für ein stilles 5dl Mineralwasser mussten wir 6 Euro bezahlen, was in Sri Lanka doch sehr teuer ist. Ein klassisches 5 Sterne Hotel, welches in die Jahre gekommen ist.
