Michael (6/5): Basic Rustic Vibe - Office was closed when we arrived to check in at 3 pm. Luckily a property attendant showed up to get our key. No one gave us an overview of the property, so we were not made aware of shared amenities. One day our room was not cleaned even though we put a maid service sign on the outside door. Rooms come with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and Dish network TV. AC fan speed was a little underwhelming.We had to keep hitting the Turbo setting to cool down the room.
Silvia (6/5): Cute but definitely needs updating! - Place was cute but not well lit. We arrived at night and couldn't find our room. There were picker bushes all over the place. Place was nice and clean but definitely needs some updating and some modernization. Bathroom way too tiny. Ok if youre a midget or a small person but other than that very small. No parking places so we just parked outside our room. I sure hope that was okay. I dont think I'll be back here again. It was okay for one night.

Mary (4/5): - Although the Antelope Lodge was Definitely Retro 1950’s Vibe ….. It Needs to be Better Kept and More Comfortable. The property NEEDED the Courtyard Grass Mowed and sprucing up. The clerk had No Personality and Offered No information other than our room # and that the door locked behind us. The Bed was Horribly Uncomfortable and very low to the floor. The bath Linens were Nice. Retro Refrigerator & Microwave were nice. Coffee in Room was Enjoyed. AC Worked Great. Bathroom is Tiny but Manageable even though you had to sit on Toilet Sideways. Biggest issue was No Rest due to Uncomfortable Bed 😩. Should have cost less for what it is. Wish it was Better Kept and Bed was Better. It was like going back in Time.

Patricia (4/5): A definite pass. - Started the moment we opened the front door finding 3 dead cockroaches on the floor. The place needs a complete renovation. We were afraid to sit down on the furniture. As soon as we woke up we hit the road, no way were we taking showers in that room. I am still recovering from the bug bites.

kent (8/5): The little things. - Check in is easy and fast, the room is quaint clean and quiet. Our cabin was #22 toward the back of the property, we could not see the courtyard. Enjoyed the peace and quiet clean and comfortable bed. It felt like an Air B&B. The porch had dusty chairs and the grass was way tall, needed to be cut. If we had been staying longer it would have made a big difference, There is a barbecue grill and picnic table, but then again tall grass and weeds at the time we went would have made a negative rating. Even though our check in was brief, the desk clerk could have told us where the ice machine was, and if we needed anything to let us know contact info etc. the room did have a laminated sheet with info who to call. The remote control to the tv was different, my husband had to reach above and turn on the box for the signal. At check in I noticed a stand up cooler where some alcoholic beverages were available to sell. I guess, the clerk didn’t expound on anything he just handed us the key and gave us directions to the cabin. There are twin lights on each side of the bed, one light was out. Overall the stay was a nice cozy room and very comfortable beds. ps. Because it is an older court. You do have to allow the water to run awhile before you get hot water. Not complaining just informing. lol.

Cort (4/5): - Old property, old fixtures. None of that really bothered me or was uncomfortable. What made the stay unenjoyable was the noise the mini split AC made. A loud hum/whistle that would not go away. We tapped on the case, adjusted the air flow and fan direction, but nothing worked. Had to get up in the middle of the night and just turn it off it was so loud. Couldn’t sleep until it was off, and then only until it got hot again.
Jennifer (10/5): Only place I will stay in Alpine - Absolutely loved my stay here! If you are looking for a 5 star hotel then this is not your place. If you are looking for a retro, clean room with hot water and a/c then look no futher. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable.

The reviews and the state of this room are not as advertised. Coffee machine has used filter with used coffee in it. The cold water when turned on causes the pipes to rattle. The traffic noises is difficult. Disappointed

The room is cute and has everything you need should you like in room DIY dining. The delicious coffee was a great way to start my day and I was glad I didn't need to go looking for a good brew.

Lisa (10/5): Like walking into the past! - This is an authentic motor inn, like walking into the past. If you expect modern five star accommodations then choose another motel. This was a quaint, clean, historic room. It did have plenty of outlets for modern electronics and a TV. But the board games provided in the lobby were more fun.
tony (4/5): - Antelope Lodge was definitely NOT worth the nightly US$ 125 rate. While the room, bedding & towels appeared clean, the Lodge was very out-dated, generally shabby and needed updating / modernizing. Inside, the room there were exposed electric cables on the walls, light fittings that did not work and the room needed redecorating with new plaster and paint. Outside, the grounds were untended and untidy. We saw broken fences and old metal and wooden yard furniture that needs replacement. Overall, a very unenjoyable one-night stay and we will not return.

Jacqueline (8/5): Cute and comfortable if you have to be here - Cute fifties-style motor lodge with modern-day upgrades - The appliances looked retro but were modern and functional. No one in the office, code to get to key. Kitchen and lounge buildings aren't obvious but once you find them, nice addition. This area is too hot for comfort, even in early April. The A/C worked fine but when outdoor, beware. Long drive between everything.
Gary (2/5): - 2 People prior to arrival statesd lodge rooms were wheelchair accessable. Upon arrivel none were. No rooms for handicapped people. No hand wall bars in shower. No tub. Facility built in 1950s. Sad. Left early.
Stephen (8/5): - Nice funky old school motel. Loved the tile work in the bathroom, and the oldwr looking fridge and microwave were a nice touch. Biggest complaint is there was no staff present for check in and check out. There are instructions to check your email for instructions to access a lockbox to get your key, but both my neighbor and I could get data to access email, so we had to find wifi to do so. A pain @ 8 PM ( I later learned that we were trying to do so on 5G, which does not exist there: switch to LTE) Overall, we liked the place, but the lack of staff was a negative.

Todd (10/5): Nice private space - We had a very nice stay at the Antelope Lodge. Very friendly staff, and our own little cottage. It was an older property, but seemed well kept up and was a great space for us. The main building had a fully stocked kitchen we were able to use to prepare a few meals. All around very nice place.
Robert (8/5): - Property reflects the nostalgia of the 1950's motel stops. It's old but fun. There is a lot of maintenance that needs to be done. Bathroom locks/door hardware require upgrade, hot water was an issue in the shower. Some units allow pets and others do not. However, those with pets let them do their business outside anywhere. I would suggest pouring river pea gravel around properties to keep the dust down during the wind storms. Despite these suggestions we enjoyed the place and would stay there again.

Arrived after dark nobody else at lodge , with abnormally cool outdoor temperatures difficulty getting room temperature comfortable. Concrete floors and retro interior. Room and bedding were clean. Lodge is rated high but with our late arrival would have preferred hotel stay. Staff accommodating.

SCOTT (10/5): - Really like the concept of having standalone rooms(every two rooms share one building). There was a gentleman staying in the room next to me and I never heard him all night. There was a picnic table next to each building as well. These rooms are clean, but dated. Perfect spot for passing through. Comfortable beds, only an hour ride to Big Bend National Park the next morning.

Matt (10/5): - I like that you can drive right up to the front door of the cabin. Rustic charm on outside, while interiors have seen a nice upgrade in furniture and appliances in recent years. There's some1950s funk you have to deal with (like few plugs and old school showers) but these are minor quibbles in in some way just add to the charm. I would definitely stay again. Good bed.

Martin (4/5): - The room was clean. It’s a quaint property without modern conveniences. Outside of the unit the ground is uneven and not good for someone with mobility challenges. There was dog poop outside the entrance that had not been cleaned up. It was very quiet and there is a nice area to sit outside and enjoy the morning and evening. I did not see any staff and the office was closed, so it was self check in with a code. I had trouble with the code to retrieve the key and the answering service never responded to my call. The lock box reset and I was able to get the key. If one expects very little then you won’t be disappointed, but if you have moderate expectations you may not be comfortable at this property.

It was fun to hang out in the beautiful courtyard that had abundant seating, tables, grills... inside was so cute and spotlessly clean! The only complaint was the faucet in the bathroom dripped horribly and had no stopper in the sink hole, so in order for us to sleep we had to sacrifice a washcloth over the hole. Otherwise, hell yeah we"ll stay there whenever we come to Alpine!
Lauren (10/5): Don’t overlook this cute and affordable lodge! - The space is stylish and clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. It’s dog friendly, which was important to us. And just a twenty minute drive away from Marfa. The lodge had amenities we didn’t have a chance to take advantage of: a fire pit, an air conditioned lobby with games, and a really cute gift shop. We also couldn’t beat the price! I will recommend the Antelope Lodge and look forward to staying again!

Jennifer (10/5): - I stayed here for one night in April 2024. I checked in at 9pm after hiking longer than I expected in Big Bend National Park. While there was no one in the office, there was an envelope on the door with my name on it with a key and the Wifi code inside. I did like that because I was worried at first of how I was going to check in. The place has a nice and relaxing courtyard. The room was a vibe with all the 1950's feels including a 1950's looking microwave and fridge. There was an older 1950's looking table and chairs and other decore in my room. The bathroom was clean but I didn't care much for the shower. The bed was clean and comfy. I would stay here again.
Tom (4/5): - The whole check in process sucked. Even with an open sign the door message for Expedia guest to use the lockbox was very put offish. I did not notice the bleached out map so had a had time finding the unit. Wanted to take a shower after a long day of hiking in the sun. It was almost warm. And by the time I settled in to surf the net I needed a password that was not provided and the lobby was by this point locked tight.
Harrison (8/5): Cute Vintage Motor Court - I very much enjoyed my stay at Antelope Lodge. I stayed in the "basic single" which provided more than adequate space for the night. Be warned, however, the bathroom is a tight squeeze! The basic single rooms are located right next to the highway, so only check into one if you're a heavy sleeper. The staff was very kind and accommodating with my late check-in.

Patricia (10/5): Thumbs Up - Loved it! super cute bed was comfy if i had one negative thing it would be the bathroom....toilet kinda close to the wall but we adjusted. Also great location. We would stay there again for sure
Anita (8/5): - I chose this property because it was cute and historic, and because in the photos you can see that some rooms have small kitchens. I intentionally booked a room that had a kitchen, listed as "cottage, 1 queen bed". When I didn't get the kitchen I went to the front desk and was told that the kitchens were taken out a couple of years ago and the owners have failed to update the photos on Expedia. Aside from that, I was happy with my room and enjoyed the cute historic touches.
