Guest Reviews
- lomimu (4/5): Great exterior, bad everything else - Really nice exterior, with beautiful bougainvillea and wood balcony railings. Unfortunately, everything else was a big disappointment. Room decor was motel-basic, outlets were ancient so plugs nearly fell out, showering produced a lake across the bathroom floor, stuffing coming out of chair, wifi was iffy, not clean. But the worst was that when we entered our room, there were no pillows, towels, or toilet paper - plus there were 4 or 5 bars of used soap in the shower. Complained, said they'd take care of it, came back hours later and it still wasn't ready; couldn't get into our room until 5:30. At least there was a nice balcony with a view. Not recommended.
- Samiya7 (4/5): Not a Repeater - The hotel is very dated. It doesn’t have elevators so we had to carry our luggage up 3 flights of stairs. The comforters and blankets looked and smelled like they had not been washed anytime in the recent past. The shower area smelled like mildew and was a tight squeeze to get in. Breakfast was a COVID nightmare buffet - not the least bit safe with the Lambda variant. We had some hard boiled eggs and watery coffee. Even the sugar wasn’t in individual packets. Everything looked cold and congealed. Come on hotel you can do better than this!
- nicole2391 (8/5): Clean hotel close to the center of the town - This is.a solid 3 star hotel that is a short walk to the main stretch of restaurants on the water.
We had a room with a balcony that faced the water. This was a great view to wake up to in the morning. We paid extra to stay in a room with a jacuzzi but unfortunately, it was not working. When we reported it, they refunded us the difference without a problem. There is a very nice fridge in the room which came in handy.
There is no elevator so be warned if you are carrying a lot of bags to a higher floor. It was no problem for us and we really enjoyed our stay, with the very friendly staff.
- 727Beachlover (4/5): Very tired - Short walk to restaurants but was only there one night with a tour group. The property looked great in the photos but didn't live up to them. The room was OK in size but the shower definitely needs redoing. Looking from my room I could see unfinished building work close by etc. My expectations for Peru were low, but this was not somewhere I would return to.
- J8231VCannam (4/5): Clean but tired - This hotel was clean and secure. It was sufficient for a one night stay. We stayed in an odd, two story bungalow that had 3 rooms and 3 bathrooms, a kitchen and living space. We were unsure if there would be other guests in the rooms since it was only two of us. We were able to lock our room in the bungalow, however. The hotel is very tired, in need of renovation, new towels and linens. The service however, was very friendly and prompt.
- mwcw (4/5): This hotel needs a lot of serious updating - The Posada Del Elmancipador is located on the edge of the town of Paracas, but only a short 5 minute walk from the restaurants and shops. It is a set of 4 story buildings and our room, 302, had a very nice view of the water.
Check in was quick and friendly, but don't expect a lot of English. The Google translate APP that was downloaded on our phones came in handy.
The room itself was fairly large and had a very big and comfortable king size bed. The room had a safe, mini fridge, and a flat screen TV. Also, there was a balcony with table and chairs. However, the problem was that everything had a very “worn out” look and feel. I am sure that it was once a very nice hotel, but now is in need of some serious updating. The floor tile is stark white and was dirty. There were no shelves in the bathroom, the curtains were worn and even the pictures on the wall were crooked. There were cracks in the dry wall, and we could not get the heater in the room to work.
The breakfast buffet had lots to offer, but the quality of the food was poor. The scrambled eggs were runny, the juice was watered down, and the pancakes were cold.
There aren't a lot of choices of hotels in Paracas, but this hotel needs work.
- Praths-BLR (8/5): Lunch time here - Stopped by here for lunch & it was an awesome spread for a pure vegetarian like me. In southamerica, is a city far away I could manage to get some vegetarian dishes. That was super awesome for me.....
- kaiserschmarren (2/5): They didn't have our reservation!! - We made our reservation by mail and got a confirmation but when we arrived at 9 pm they didn't have our reservation! No apology, no help to find another hotel at 9 pm! Very unfriendly and they even wanted to tell us that this is our fault!! Incredible..
- bobp797 (6/5): One night stopover - Good rooms, clean, comfortable. Had dinner and breaakfast. Both good.. Our biggest worry was having a safe place for the car. It was not a problem because of walls and a guard on duty 24/7. We were on the 4th floor. There are no elevators, but whilst we didn't need it we were offered help.
- BobL331 (6/5): Near the Ocean and Close to Restaurants - Arriving in Paracas on the first night away from Lima of our Peruvian Tour is a bit of a culture shock. The Emancipador is a reasonably attractive looking hotel from the outside. The rooms were large but basic. There does not appear to be any soundproofing in any of the walls so it can be quite noisy. When we awoke to have a shower at 06:00 AM we discovered that a water pipe had broken so there was no water. They did get it repaired reasonably quickly but not soon enough to fit in a shower before our departure. The included breakfast was not one of the best that we had on our tour. We only had a dessert at the restaurant, but again it was not very good. The location is good as it is near the ocean and not far from where one catches the tour boats to the Ballestas Islands.
- Fiorella (8/5): - Nos gustó en general, buenas camas, desayuno variado, limpieza, el baño muy pequeño - mal diseñado - felizmente la ducha si tenía buena presión de agua fría y caliente
- MANUEL (8/5): De paseo - Buena ubicación y sserviicios
- Armando (2/5): Not happy with the room - I did not get the room I asked for
- CATF (8/5): - Lindo hotel, Buena ubicación, habitación cómoda. El personal es muy amable. Hay que mejorar e desayuno.
- Lucas (6/5): A place to crash - From reviews, it seemed like a lot of the hotels in Paracas are pretty similar. Not much to write home about.
