Guest Reviews
- Norma (10/5): - This B&B is nothing short of perfect. Our room was spotless, well appointed and charming. The breakfast is fabulous as is the hostess. Highly recommend!
- Lynda (10/5): - Location was very good. Parking garage is quite close. Comfortable bed, excellent breakfast. Cute place
- Oya (10/5): - It is a beautiful historic inn nestled in a quiet neighborhood at a central city location. There are several eating and shopping options around. The rooms are small but comfortable. The host is nice, attentive, and knowledgable of the city. Breakfast is included and has several options including a freshly baked bread. Highly recommended.
- Margaret (10/5): - Very pleased with our stay here. Clean, comfortable, delicious homemade bread and variety of breakfast items. Very accommodating to our needs. Thank you for the wonderful start to our Iceland visit.
- Janet (10/5): - Walking distance to restaurants and supermarket.
Lovely staff and i enjoyed the bread, freshly bake! Big counter space at the bathroom :)
Lack of power outlet to charge devices :(
- Kelly Ann (10/5): - Such a quaint property in a historic home turned into a b & b. The living room and kitchen were such welcoming spaces with beautiful art pieces on the wall and bookcases. The room we stayed in was pretty small, luckily the warmness of the owner and the common spaces made us feel taken care of and at home.
- kevin (10/5): - Quaint, quiet and private, room in historic building, very central, wonderful friendly host, excellent breakfast, would definitely stay again,
- Xiu (10/5): - The host was very nice and helpful. Very patience and friendly.
- Chris (8/5): - Perfect location to walk around and see the sights. Only downfall was noise travelled very easily through floors, walls etc. But easily made up for it with the staffs amazing service and knowledge of Iceland! Would definitely recommend!!
- matthew (10/5): - Ridiculously comfortable bed!. The bed was interesting
- Jessica (10/5): - Breakfast was wonderful! Close to lots of restaurants. Room was clean and had everything we needed for a night. Self checkin was easy. Thanks for a great stay!
- Ashley Hall (10/5): - More personable experience than bigger hotels. Great local breakfast with explanation of food. Knew each persons name and remembered important details about guests and their experiences. Continuously made sure we were comfortable and enjoying our trip. Answered any and all questions asked.
- Zachary (10/5): - A wonderful place to stay! Room was comfortable and clean, staff were friendly and very helpful, breakfast was delicious. Great location too! Can’t recommend this one enough.
- Nigel (10/5): Another great stay! - A great B&B! I’ve been to Reykjavik on multiple occasions, and every time I come I try to stay here. The host is very welcoming and helpful.
- Cynthia (10/5): - We loved the location and breakfast here! Such a cute building and the owner and staff were
So friendly. Would love to come back and stay again.
- Marta (10/5): - We had an amazing stay at Reykjavik treasure. The hosts of the b&b were so knowledgeable and helped us plan our activities each day. The bed was so comfortable, they were so accommodating to our 18 month old and us. Would stay here again and would recommend to any couple or small family who is staying in Reykjavik!
- Jon (10/5): - This property is located in the heart of walkable Reykjavik and was hosted by a wonderful, English speaking Icelandic woman. Breakfast was served every morning with local Icelandic fare at a community table with other European quests. My only criticism: we were put in the lower level quest room with a side entrance with no instructions on how to find our room. We also had a rental car and parking was in an adjacent public parking garage, which was expensive to park in. Otherwise, this was a very quaint property with lots of Icelandic charm.
- Jessica (10/5): - Adorable B&B. Would definitely recommend-easy walk to everything around the city!
- Miles (10/5): - Lovely rooms and excellent communication with hosts. Elaborate homemade Scandinavian breakfast. Gracious hosts and beautiful sitting area and library. Excellent location and easy parking in nearby garage. Exceptional!
- Thomas (10/5): - Lovely dining room and breakfast spread. Staff was great
- Richard (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful.
- Emily (10/5): Great value, convenient and charming location - Very nice bed and breakfast in the heart of Reykjavík! The location was charming and convenient. The check-in instructions were very clear and prompt. The apartment was well-appointed and had everything we needed. There is free breakfast that we unfortunately couldn’t make. The only two notes were that it was a tad on the hot side and the pillows were a bit lumpy. But overall, amazing place for amazing value! Perfect for our needs as a couple.
- Lawrence (10/5): Wonderful small B&B! - Wonderful stay with a delightfully friendly and informative host. And a delicious breakfast with local specialties. Would love to come back!
- D'Lynn (10/5): - The property was so cute and unique , the parking ramp across the street was affordable and so convenient. Breakfast's were delicious. The location was great for exploring Reykjavik on foot, and so easy to navigate when we had to drive further distances.
- Mark (10/5): - I loved that it was an Icelandic B&B experience and not just another "hotel" you can find on any continent.... Plus the personal interactions with our host were so fun. Love supporting a small business owner!
- Lori (10/5): - Adorable garden seating area!
- Bruce (10/5): - Great experience. Unique property in a perfect location for any visitor to Iceland.
- Lisa (10/5): - Terrific location and super cozy. We’ll be back!
- Karen (8/5): - We only stayed one night so a flying visit. It was a great location and breakfast was great.
- Gary (10/5): A Treasure in Reykjavik - A true Treasure in Reykjavik. We were made to feel very welcome by the host. The rooms are spotlessly clean the beds are very comfortable. Lots of traditional Icelandic foods at breakfast that were delicious. Great location for exploring Reykjavik.
- Joel (10/5): - Just charming, and the hostess is lovely. Not at all like a "hotel", rooms are quite unusual, but that's the whole point! :-) Amazing location, totally walkable to anything. Highly recommended!
- Kimberly (10/5): - Lovely location, hostess (owner), breakfast, originality of rooms and more. Most comfortable bed I slept in during all of Iceland! We stayed downstairs which while lovely, was a little loud with the upstairs foot steps and occasional late night street walkers. Request upstairs and you’ll love it.
- Carol (10/5): - Location is great with easy parking in parking garage near property. Everyone very friendly and helpful.
- Mike (10/5): - Host friendly and accommodating - breakfast was amazing - cozy common areas and room.
- alexis (10/5): - What a wonderful and cozy B&B in a great area of Reykjavik! While the room was a bit tight, it was comfortable and relaxing, as was the common area. We thoroughly enjoyed talking with the other guests and especially Steinunn, the host. She was wonderful! Thank you so much!
- Nancy (10/5): Wonderful! - This was a lovely room right in the middle of the city center, an easy walk to shops and restaurants. The hosts were amazing and very friendly. The price was right, too! Breakfast was very good, and a lot of variety offered.
- Stephanie (10/5): A gem! - The Reykjavik Treasure is truly a gem of a place. 7 rooms in an antique house, each with a comfy bed, a clean space, and a delightful breakfast in the morning.
- Camella (10/5): - What a great find! Clean room with comfy bed in a historic area that is walkable to many sites and shops. Breakfast was delicious and the hosts were helpful and very welcoming.
- Steve (10/5): - Reykjavik Treasure is an understated little gem. Maybe only 4 guest rooms. Entry is by code at the front door. The 2nd floor rooms have sloped ceilings which means one has to adopt a humble attitude when near a wall, but. . . . The rooms were well equipped with comfy beds and OK bathrooms. We didn’t hear a peep out of other guests. Breakfast started at 7:30 and was a buffet style with a range of foods to satisfy most everyone, with a staff person who served coffee, kept our cups full and cleaned up after us. This is not a large property and the rooms were “tight”. But vacant floor space in a room is over-rated, especially if it’s used mainly as a base for exploring Reykjavik. It isn’t the Center Hotel, but it wan’t billed or priced as such. My wife and I give the property an “A” rating for what it is.
- nancy (10/5): Definitely a Treasure! - From the moment we stepped in the door we felt welcome! Even though our international flights arrived six hours before check-in time, she welcomed us to sit down for breakfast and prepared our room early.
Steinumm was extremely helpful with many details and even made us breakfast to go when our departure needed to be 4 am. She gives the impression that it's much more than a job for her.
Our memories of Iceland will bring a smile, in large part because of the warm and friendly atmosphere and delicious breakfasts here. It really felt like home away from home.
- B H (8/5): Nice stay - The guest house was lovely. The rooms are cute but a little bit small, especially the bathroom as under the roof. Felt a little bit expensive.
We thought there was parking from hotels.com descriptor but there wasn’t actual free parking. We managed as we didn’t stay during the week but that could have been an issue.
The breakfast spread was really amazing with homemade treats and freshly made coffee.
Really had a “at home” feel
- Bruce (10/5): - The hosts were friendly and knowledgeable.
- Tammy (6/5): - Room was in the attic and was tiny especially for 2 tall people. So after sleeping in a very soft bed and crouching in the room for a few days we both had sore backs. If you are tall please let the owner know so you can get a normal room.
- Vidar (10/5): A home away from home - We had a wonderful stay at Reykjavik Treasure. It was very much like a home away from home, where we met other guests during breakfast - and enjoyed our own time the rest of the stay. As a bonus the location could not have been any better.
- Jen (10/5): - The most c9mfortable bed I've ever slept in. The property was cozy and immaculate. Easy check in. Wonderful walkable location.
- Stuart (10/5): Excellent base - Lovely place, excellent host, great place to explore Reykjavik and beyond. Highly recommend.
- William Sean (10/5): - A fantastic Bed & Breakfast right near the city center. Great restaurants all around and walking distance to a bunch of things. It was cozy and comfortable, and breakfast was wonderful. It was a great place to come back to after being out in the city. I highly recommend and if we ever go back we will stay there.
- Jan (10/5): - Very centrally located and quiet.
- Lynne (10/5): - Very small, but clean
- Greg (10/5): - Steinunn (the owner) was very nice and helpful. We saw her every morning at breakfast and she had lots of helpful suggestions regarding things to see and do.
- Susan (10/5): - This place is a gem! Lovely host, cozy room, delicious breakfast, fabulous location. Can’t wait to return! Thank you, we loved our stay here!
- Jenna (10/5): - Place was super nice and in a great location. Although it’s a shared space, it almost feels like you have the place to yourself as the bedrooms are pretty secluded. Staff was so nice, welcoming, and helpful. Breakfast being included is a huge perk.
Parking was a bit confusing but we figured it out. You have to park in the parking garage just adjacent to the property. The one way roads near the property got us turned around initially as well. The parking garage apps didn’t work for us so we had to use the kiosk everytime, thankfully some nice people helped us out with that. But other than that it was perfect!
- Laura (10/5): - The property was just absolutely beutiful, located 2 minutes walk into town and to the harbor.
The rooms were cosy and warm , allowing us to relax and feel a home away from home experience.
Having a washing machine really helped to.
After a week of staying here, im ready to pack up and moved to reykjavik. Genuinely couldnt give this property and experience evough credit.
Definitely a honeymoon to remember. We will be back soon
- William Theo Drumright (10/5): - Excellent B&B. Very welcoming staff, clean accomodations and great central location.
- Carrie (10/5): - Location in central Reykjavík but on a quiet street was ideal, room was cozy and clean, host was incredibly warm and welcoming, breakfasts were delicious. I would return in a heartbeat!
- Lesley (6/5): - We had some difficulty checking in - self checkin as I didn’t receive the email giving the code for the door and the owner was away for the weekend and her mobile phone wasn’t picking up. However I sent a message through the booking platform and she answered immediately and re sent the email. So once in, this is a lovely property, with unique, individual rooms. Very rustic and full of character . The breakfast buffet was good and we especially enjoyed it being around one big kitchen table with all the other guests. Very friendly and relaxed. We would recommend this guesthouse and would stay there again. The bed was comfortable, quite soft but warm and cosy. Thanks
- Kevin (10/5): - Great bed and breakfast. The host was amazing and the breakfast was fantastic.
- Nicole (10/5): - Breakfast was fabulous
- Alan (10/5): - The host was so friendly and the place was in a perfect location. Only stayed one night but it was great!
- Todd (10/5): - A great location in a quiet area yet less than a minute to tours and restaurants. A great breakfast and nice room made oir stay.
- Adam (10/5): - This was an absolute gem. The place was clean and cozy and the housekeeper was amazing and so friendly, attentive and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic. We will definately stay here again when we return!
- Carolyn (10/5): - Fantastic B&B! Can't say enough good things about it. The location is perfect - a couple of minutes from the harbour, downtown, Bus Stop 1 (very key for airport transfers and tour pick-ups) and the BSI bus terminal (20 minute walk). Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and pillows, great breakfast - felt just like home. Highly recommend! We will be back!
- Seth (10/5): - Very nice place to stay in Reykjavik. Rooms were nice, quiet, and comfortable. Food was great. Hostess was very nice and had a lot of useful information to share. Not a complaint, just an observation: we booked two rooms, room 101 was much larger than 301 (same price).
- Sandra (8/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed this unique property that was conveniently located near shopping, restaurants, and the marina. We could easily walk anywhere in downtown Reykjavik. Our host was lovely and helpful and the breakfast delicious with local cuisine available.
- Anne (10/5): - Treasures is perfectly located on a quiet street that is close to all the action. We walked everywhere and really enjoyed the cozy rooms, excellent breakfast (with fresh bread and pastries!) and lovely conversation with other guests. The house is well-loved, so the floors creak a bit. You will hear when other guests move around at night, but it is a charming place. I’d be glad to stay again!
- Katrina (10/5): - Great location, very nice house, spotless clean. Good communication before arrival with details on local grocery stores, transport, self check-in details.
My only small complaint is the geothermal heating (for the water) was a bit too efficient, no matter how I adjusted the shower temperature setting it was scalding. I ended up leaning over to the sink & using glasses of cooler water to rinse myself off.
I only had one night here before my return flight but would have liked to stay longer; aside from the too-hot shower everything was fantastic.
- Jeannette (10/5): - We had the perfect start to our 2 week Iceland trip! Steinunn was an amazing host. Breakfast was beautifully presented, the rooms and the whole house were very petty and the location is superb for a stroll to the harbour and the new part of town. Thank you!
- Deonna (10/5): Cute, clean, comfortable, and convenient! - Excellent service, cute room and very friendly hostess. Really appreciate an excellent visit! Parking was close, and not very expensive for a single night stay, although there is free parking if you prefer to walk a bit more. Room was comfortable and had a lovely evening. Breakfast was tasty and conversation was lovely. Very close to shopping and food-easy to walk from. Would stay again. Thank you for a great stay!
- Dr MW (10/5): - Absolutely fabulous stay! The host is generous and kind, and we felt so welcome and at home here! The rooms are cozy and comfortable and breakfast was wonderful. I would highly recommend staying here when visiting the city!!
- Andrea (10/5): - This property was great! We only stayed for one night, but the room was clean and convenient, close to shops and restaurants and everything that we wanted to do while we were in town. The check-in process and parking were seamless and the staff VERY friendly.
- Ryan (10/5): - The location is ideal near the center city. The host is very professional and knowledgeable and provided a very good breakfast for us.
- Christine (10/5): - The new owner, Steinunn, is so kind and knowledgeable.
She was lovely, her banana bread is delicious. The room was clean, on the 2nd floor, up a flight of stairs.
I love the old key for the door and the roof windows in my room.
The amenities were lovely and the location couldn't be more perfect.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Very friendly, good location it’s five stars from us ..
- Adam (10/5): - A lovely spot to stay while you explore Reykjavik and the surrounding areas.
- Nick (10/5): - We had an absolutely lovely stay in this unique, cosy and homely guesthouse. Warm comfortable room and delicious home made breakfast. Great location!
- sylvia (10/5): - Wonderful owners. Go the second mile for guests. Great locale. Highly recommended!
Would be even better: with shower head that didn’t spray on the floor, hotter coffee, some variety for breakfasts, prefer a sheet w one comforter instead of no sheet and two separate comforters for double bed. Still …great place!
- William (10/5): Wonderful, charming place! - Wonderful, charming place with tons of character and excellent hosts! Our room was lovely, although not for someone who wants a ton of room to spread out. Fantastic location with great restaurants, shops, and sights all within easy walking distance. We loved our stay.
- Mateusz (8/5): - A nice bright albeit small room with a large, very clean bathroom, in a historic house in the middle of Reykjavik's tourist district. Note that this isn't a hotel — it's more like a B&B. There is no concierge, and it very much feels like an old house.
Only complaint would be that there isn't really anywhere to pull up with your car to unload luggage.
- Paula (10/5): - The owners were SO friendly, funny and VERY accommodating. This property is in Old Town and just steps to everything. The home is updated beautifully and is very cozy while still maintaining it’s very old features. We HIGHLY recommend this amazing treasure.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is located in such a good spot to visit the shops and restaurants.
- Marlene (10/5): - Great location, friendly host, clean and comfortable accommodations.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely cozy B&B. The owner was friendly. Very close to a little square with restaurants & a only couple of minutes walk to bus stop 1 where you pick up tour buses.
- KernowTravels (10/5): - Lovely cosy room. Very central within Reykjavik. Excellent hosts and breakfast options available. Would definitely stay again if ever back in Iceland.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owners were fab so helpful the place was so cosy and lovely
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This property is centrally located offering a very warm welcome from the owner. It’s a real nice place to stay and offers a great breakfast. The room was small but adequate finished to a high standard! The owner was very helpful
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property is in a great central location. The facilities for making your own tea are great and there are nice furnishings. I would have liked our bin emptied during our duration or instructions about where this was in the kitchen. Also on our final day we came for breakfast at 9.45 and everything was packed away which was disappointing as it is advertised until 10. We were told to just make a tea or coffee.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I would not recommend Reykjavik Treasure to anyone unless that person could personally arrange to stay upstairs rather than in the "basement" accommodations. We arrived ~ 6 a.m. having paid for the previous night so that we could get some sleep. But overhead was so noisy with the comings and goings of other guests at breakfast, and with the owners' activities, that we were unable to rest. The owners were unaware of our circumstances even though we had specifically requested comfortable rooms after an overnight flight. It seemed that the booking agent had just submitted our reservation requests without details. The hostesses were very nice. The place bills itself as a "B&B," but in fact it is a hotel with 7 different accommodations. Not what we had hoped to find after an all-night flight from Seattle.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Breakfast was wonderful. Bed was comfortable. Excellent location!
- Michael (10/5): Charming B&B. Perfect location - Lovely little B&B right off one of the main squares in Reykjavík.
We had room 101 on ground floor with separate entrance. Charming decor, comfortable space with sofa and armchair by the TV.
Great breakfast in the dining room where you eat with other guests, hosts are lovely.
But of noise being in the centre of the city next to some of the larger hotels but does not go on late into the night.
Thoroughly recommend overall
