Guest Reviews
- Simone (10/5): Breathtaking amd relaxing - Absolutely everything! The location was magical, peaceful and full of beautiful wildlife. The cottage is such a credit to Heidi and Herbert, we loved the fire, the welcome breakfast, the cosy comfy lounge where we saw so much wildlife out of the windows . We each had a bedroom and bathroom! There wasn’t anything that wasn’t carefully thought of.
The home made produce shop was amazing, delicious thanks to Heidi.
My mum and I were due to go on holiday 10 years ago together but life had other plans,my dad became unwell and passed away during this time so we finally had a holiday together and I can not think of a more perfect place.

The cottage is surrounded by beautiful nature, which made it so peaceful and relaxing. The cute animals around the property were an extra delight and made the place feel even more special.

Large space to support our 4 adults and child. Super clean accommodation. Washing machine and dryer. Full kitchen facilities. Still close enough to local town for all amenities. Chooks ponies and local produce store on properity. Lovely owners. I'll be back again 100%. Wish I had booked for more than 2 nights. I could have spend a week or definately longer here. Nothing to comment about what I didn't like. I loved the place.

- Harvinder (10/5): 5 star experience for nature lovers and those who need a break. - Amazing little cottage with modern facilities. Nature is at the doorstep with a diversity of birds and pademellons. Host is very friendly. A super host. Highly recommended. Na
- Chanel (10/5): It was beautiful and peaceful place to stay for a honeymoon. - A beautiful secluded house on a working farm. They sell delicious homegrown/made produce on farm. Loved meeting all the animals, especially the mini ponies! There was a mix up with our online booking due to a power glitch, and it got lost! But luckily it hadn’t been double booked and we were able to stay without a hitch after arriving. The hosts were a lovely older couple.
- Scott (8/5): A gorgeous farm stay not far from hobart - Love the location, and the hospitality of the host Bed in the master room is uncomfortable.
Breakfast provisions were reduced from last time we stayed :(
- Nicolas (10/5): Exceptional -

- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (10/5): Just loved loved loved staying there. - This place is the best place to stay. The owners are very friendly and the little shop has so many lovely products , all home made and natural ingredients. You can wander around the property and see the chooks, goats and my very favourite is the mini horses they are so cute. The cottages are so cosy with wood fires. Absolutely nothing.

- Matthew (10/5): Brilliant, it was a privilege to share their special space. - Heidi and Herbert were absolutely fantastic hosts. They were kind, caring and have thought of everything. Their property is such a special place and to have this option as accommodation we are truly lucky. We had their soups and bread for dinner and their apple crumble and ice cream that we purchased at their farm store. It was delicious and a real treat. If we didn’t have to go back to work and could have stayed longer!
- Greg (10/5): Heidi and Herbert went out of their way to make our stay at this wonderful retreat a fantastic experience - Very cosy, fantastic surroundings. Great hosts Shower over bath (spa) in main bedroom but no big deal

- Elizabeth (9/5): Lovely, comfortable strawbale home, in a farm setting. - Lovely location with wildlife and farm animals. Great fireplace and farm fresh eggs and homemade bread. Very comfortable accommodation. Farm shop was an added bonus.
- Lynn (10/5): Perfect romantic retreat for couples or families - What an amazing place to stay with lots of little extra touches that made it perfect. The owners provided unlimited wood for the fire, lots of toilet rolls and towels, extra pillows and blankets, washing powder (there is a washer and dryer) and basic provisions when we arrived such as eggs, butter and their own beautiful homemade bread. There was also some cooking oil and herbs available. Every night we sat and watched the wallabies and birds in the garden as the sun the went down. The spa bath is great for relaxing and there was plenty of hot water too. The cottage itself is magical and perfect for romantic stays or families. The bedrooms are just far enough apart for privacy and having 2 bathrooms would work well for groups sharing too. There is also great wifi and a TV for those with teens who would flatline if they didn't have access (that was us). It's a fairly short drive to the town and there is a variety of coffee shops selling Melbourne standard coffee and a Woolies for the weekly shop. The owners also have an on-site shop selling produce and the BEST homemade cakes. We loved our week at Whispering Spirit and did not want to leave. Thank you to the owners for making the place so special. Nothing :-)

- Angela (9/5): Superb -
- Rob (8/5): Recommended - Whole large house to ourselves. Comfortable. Lots of cute animals. Will happily book again on next visit. Internet was very slow. Master bedroom shower was inside the spa and challenging to climb into - it would be impossible for anyone with any kind of mobility issue. There was a more standard shower off the kid's room though. Tank water only, had to buy bottled.
- Julie (7/5): Good - Lovely house in a lovely location. Quiet and tranquil with an abundance of wildlife. All amenities were provided. The beds were quite hard and the second bedroom had a very musty smell that became quite overpowering during the night.

- Michelle (10/5): A true reflection of life in the Huon Valley! Absolutely superb!! - The cottage was spectacular and setting so beautiful!! So close to main Huonville, but felt rural and secluded. The farm animals was an added highlight. Heidi was lovely and we purchased some of her cooking from the little onsite store - very delicious rhubarb and cranberry slice!! Would highly recommend this accommodation :) Absolutely nothing! Everything was super good - no negatives to say.

Very quiet with the opportunity to see lots of wildlife just wandering past. There was nothing about the property that we didnt like
- Trekker (10/5): Must stay for a visit to the Huon - This cottage is unique and wonderfully constructed and decorated, located in its own section on the farm with forest and mountain views and wildlife, and must be seen to be appreciated. Host Heidi had the fire going ready for our arrival. Breakfast was farm produce and included homemade bread. We really enjoyed our time here and would stay again.

Lovely cosy fire (going when we arrived and easy to keep going the whole time we stayed), lovely clean strawbale house (very cosy and homely), wildlife, provisions provided, friendly host, availability of lovely homemade produce. We could easily have just whiled away a week without leaving the property. Nothing.

The small touches fresh eggs, bacon, milk and bread waiting for us. Fireplace blazing upon arrival. Fresh homemade preservitive free produce to purchase including ice creams, crumbles, biscuits, jams, bread, juice and more. The kids loved exploring the property and didn't want to leave. They loved the ponies, chickens and Jasper and Bobby the 2 goats. Want to spend longer here to explore the property more. Spa was great. The view the house enjoyed every thing about this property. Having to leave.
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional - Everything! Loved it all! What a magnificent location. Heidi is wonderful. Not applicable.
- Carol (9/5): Warm and cozy, highly recommend. - Delightful Heidi took us around to Strawbale Cottage, lit the fire and settled us in. The Cottage is cute, cozy and comfortable. Gorgeous country kitchen with all amenities, and bacon, freshly laid eggs and juice and milk are in the fridge for breakfast. Very quiet location, nestled in the woods, but close to everything we wanted to see. At no fault of the hosts, the internet is slow or virtually non-existent sometimes. We have found this to be the case in many areas around Tassie though, not just at Whispering Spirit.
- Cassandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cameron (9/5): Superb -
