- Zoran (10/5): Wunderbare Menschen, fantastische Erfahrung! - Eine wunderbare Erfahrung: außerordentlich freundliche Gastgeber, sehr bemüht, sehr entgegenkommend und hilfsbereit, und die Zimmer Ausstattung war besser als in der Beschreibung.
- Maria Magdalena (10/5): Eine Insel der Ruhe - Bei der Unterkunft handelt es sich um ein liebevoll gestaltetes Grundstück in zentraler städtischer Lage in Porto; es ist gut von zwei Metrostationen aus erreichbar. Die kleinen Wohneinheiten liegen sehr ruhig, der Garten ist abwechslungsreich und lädt zum Ausruhen und Genießen ein. Die Einrichtung ist gut durchdacht, der kleine Raum wird effektiv genutzt. Die Betreuung der Gäste durch den Eigentümer Miguel und seine Frau könnte nicht besser sein: freundlich, zugewandt, unaufdringlich. Das Wetter hätte besser sein können ;)

- Adriana Laliu (10/5): A fairytale place in a wonderful city - I simply loved everything about this accomodation and the owners. The owner welcomed me at the entrance of the guesthouse and then gave me a tour of the inner courtyard and the mini apartment. The courtyard is wonderful — a true oasis of peace and greenery. The apartment is decorated in a very original style, it is clean, and equipped with absolutely everything you might need, including cooking utensils. I was welcomed with Porto wine and a variety of delicious snacks. The owners gave lots of details about what to visit. The location is about a 15-minute walk from the historic city center. I didn't like the fact that I had to leave. 😂

Und Miguel bereitet einen wundervollen Empfang sowohl mit wertvollen Infos, als auch mit einem liebenswerten Willkommenspaket, das einen für die erste Nacht versorgt.

- Martin (10/5): A real charm - We could not been happier with our stay, the place is amazing, just 10 minute walk to the city centre and yet an oasis of pace with a beautiful garden where to relax. The accommodation has everything you need and it is SPOTLESS. The host made sure to give us great tips and he was readily available to help throughout our stay even booking us a taxi to the airport and checking us out at 3 in the morning, thank you again for a wonderful stay. .

Nice touches like milk in the fridge and a decanter of port wine. The garden area is really nice, though the weather wasn't right to take full advantage when I stayed in early March. No complaints. What others have said about check in and deposit matched my experience. I would have preferred it if the hot water in the shower lasted a few minutes longer. There was some banging around from whatever is behind the room but it didn't bother me much or ke ep me awake.

- Rich (10/5): Highly Original and Highly Recommended! - One of the most original and memorable places I've ever stayed in. The couple who run this place are extremely friendly and hospitable. They gave me all the time in the world at check-in and some really useful information about Porto and even the history of Portugal. The room was extraordinary. What I really appreciated was the attention to detail here with extra items in the fridge and other basic supplies like cereal, milk, and bottled water to help you settle in. It's located off a quiet street within a gated compound so is very safe and secure. There is a lovely patio garden with a pond and places to relax; you're really insulated from the noise and commotion of the city and can't help but relax in such a pleasant and peaceful environment. I'm hard pushed to find anything to criticize. It's a more expensive option and you have that 200 Euro deposit (refundable) but you get what you pay for. The shower did appear to be slightly blocked as the tray filled up very quickly and drained rather slowly. The small single room I was in has a flight of stairs overhead for accessing a room above. You might be disturbed depending on what hours these guests keep but I wasn't.

Le stationnement dans la rue,pas de place et après 3 nuits ,nous nous sommes aperçu que l'on nous avait cassé la vitre de la porte arrière droite pour essayer de nous voler la voiture ou ce qu'il y avait dedans,ce n' est pas du tout sécurité.

He recommended great restaurants and things to see and do. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with everything you need. It was a lovely surprise to find breakfast foods included: nice bread with spreads, coffee, and tea. Also, a nice little bottle of port, which was a nice touch. Free parking on the street outside the accommodation. It was also an easy walk to the Porto centre. Would definitely stay again!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

- Ulrich (10/5): Wer eine etwas andere Unterkunft sucht, sollte das Ruby Charm House in Betracht ziehen! - Ich kann diese Unterkunft nur Empfehlen! Miguel ist ein sehr angenehmer Host, sehr bekümmert und immer erreichbar und hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft ist etwas außerhalb gelegen, so dass wir auch in Restaurants abseits des Touristentrubels auf Empfehlung von Miguel nette und interessante Abende verbracht haben. Sehr angenehm ist auch der Aufenthalt im „Garten“, etwa beim Frühstück. Nichts.

Ein Ort mit einer besonderen, positiven Energie und Atmosphäre inmitten der Stadt und den liebsten Gastgebern. Die Verkehrsanbindung ist super (Metroststion Marques), dennoch ist es sehr ruhig. Viele kleine Geschäfte, Cafes und Tasquinhas fußläufig, sowie die typischen Nachbarschafts-Mittagstisch-Lokale mit Prato do Dia. Muito obrigado, Miguel pela tua hospitalidade e até breve no Porto! - Heike (9/5): Alles in allem war es ein schöner Aufenthalt. Sollten wir noch mal nach Porto kommen würden wir dieses Apartment noch ei - Die Lage war ausgesprochen gut der Vermieter hat uns einen Parkplatz für den ersten Tag zur Verfügung gestellt, weil die Parksituation doch etwas schwierig ist. So haben wir das Auto stehen lassen. Schön war, dass es für den ersten Tag ein komplettes Stück gab. Der Garten war eine Oase und die ganze Anlage war sehr ruhig Schwierig war die Aufbewahrung der Koffer. Hier gab es unter der Dachschräge eine kleine Möglichkeit, ein paar Hemden aufzuhängen. Im Bad war alles vorhanden, die Dusche war ziemlich eng.

The vibe is relaxed and they thought of literally everything! One of the first places where the use of QR codes actually add value.The owners are the best! In for a chat and give you their best tips. They also helped us finding a parking spot for the car cause almost everywhere it's max 2hr parking on the streets and the indoor garages are very expensive.

Pokoj není nijak velký, ale najdete zde vše, co potřebujete. Velmi jsme ocenili vybavení "kuchyně" (k dispozici je koření, mléko, káva, ! celý chléb ... a spousta dalších věcí, které předpokládáte, že si budete muset nakoupit. Majitelé jsou velmi vřelí a nápomocní, dostali jsme spoustu skvělých rad a doporučení. Opravdu děkujeme.

Dużo podróżujemy ale dawno nie spotkaliśmy takiego przyjęcia. Wszystko przedstawił. Zarekomendował miejsca do zwiedzania i jedzenia. Opowiedział nam o mieście o zwyczajach. Pomógł w kwestiach o które prosiliśmy. Otrzymaliśmy też wspaniały poczęstunek w pokoju. Świeże owoce, chleb, wino i inne drobne smakołyki. Żal było wyjeżdżać. Na pewno wrócimy 🤗 Wszystko nam się podobało 🤗

Værten Miquel havde endda sørget for at der var mælk, juice, frugt, tomater, kaffe og endda portvin til rådighed på værelset ved ankomsten. Kort sagt får Ruby Charm Houses fuld point fra os, og vi vil med glæde bo der igen næste gang vi besøger skønne Porto. Mvh Henrik og Gitte Intet - Alt var perfekt!

Other bonuses were the lovely outside area to enjoy your breakfast or at any time of day, and the numerous 'freebies' on arrival - bread, jam, milk, cereal, orange juice, water, and even port. I highly recommend.
- Francesco Callegaro (8/5): Bel soggiorno a Porto! - Gli appartamenti (di diverse misure) sono collocati in una bella area protetta con bel giardino comune a disposizione. L’unità che ci hanno assegnato era dotata di tutti i confort descritti e la gentilezza, la disponibilità e la cortesia di Miguel e Maria è stata spettacolare. Al nostro arrivo ci hanno accolti con calore facendoci trovare alcuni alimenti x colazione e una fiaschetta di porto! Vicino al centro e comodo per supermercati e le stazioni della metropolitana. Gli appartamenti sono di diverse misure, quindi non giudico gli altri, ma il monolocale che ci hanno assegnato (n.8) è stretto per tre persone (abbiamo dovuto lasciare i bagagli a terra), un po' buio e con il letto su un soppalco in struttura di legno truciolare grezzo decisamente stretto e con una scala ripida. Si avvertiva un pochino di odore di umidità. Il parcheggio decisamente complicato è stato risolto solo grazie alla grande cortesia di Miguel. Non sarebbe male mostrare qualche foto degli appartamenti nella pagina principale e non solo il bel giardino.

- Patricia (10/5): A property that cares about your comfort and the quality of their rentals. - The host met me at the door and gave a brief orientation of how things in the apartment worked. Miguel and Maria-Jaoa are very friendly and are always available to answer questions and offer help and suggestions on visiting Porto. The location is close to the historic downtown and transit stops. The courtyard is a relaxing and beautiful place to hang out and rest. The apartment was very clean and stocked with kitchenware. Comfy bed and pillows. Large people and those with mobility problems may want to let the host know so they get a one-level unit. There was nothing I didn’t like.

I changed my travel plans for a month cause it made Porto. If there is something remotely close to how on the nose this place is, I have yet to see it. One day turned into months. Ruby Charm rooms are well equipped and comfortable, with an extensive well laid out garden in which to relax after a day’s sightseeing. The area has a some good restaurants and shops close by. Miguel (the proprietor) goes the extra mile for his guests and made us feel at home he is always ready to help. Although Ruby is a little way out from the centre of the city it was not a problem as there are two metro stations in easy walking (5 minutes) distance We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to use again and recommend to other travelers. Host was great and on hand to answer any questions. Not noisy. Nice to be out of the touristy area but still plenty near by, shops and restaurants. Very easy to get to the main centre and river. Less than 5mins to metro and 5 min journey. Regular Metro service. Never had to wait more than a few minutes. Nice outdoor space with apartment. Some great restaurants in Porto. A couple of recommendations in the pictures. Hired bike for the day and cycled 5 miles to the beach resort. Easy flat ride. You can also get the tram along the river front. Really enjoyed our stay in Porto and the Ruby charm houses.

The owner is an architect who has converted a row of dis-used buildings into really well designed apartments with a shared back garden space. Owners live on site and were charming , attentive but unobtrusive hosts. Gave us so many good ideas for our stay in Porto. All the things you read in other reviews about the welcome pack is true. Spotlessly clean, an oasis of calm in the city, would highly recommend. A little out of centre- but metro so close it doesn’t really matter.

Walking distance of all the tourist attractions but also very close to the metro station. Lovely outdoor space and washing lines so towels and clothes could be dried in the sun. There was some noise from the room above. I was travelling with ear plugs which helped.

It’s very comfortable and includes a kitchen which Miguel fills with supplies on check-in. The location is even better than I expected once I figured out how to walk to the Metro. It’s a 3* that exceeds expectations. You become family. They take sanitation very seriously as well. I will stay there again. Absolutely nothing

- Beverly (9/5): Good for short stay not long stay. - Lovely small space for four day break. Wonderful owners and family! A bit pricey but they were extremely thoughtful and stocked kitchen with food I could eat as i informed them of several allergies. Felt safe and secure the whole time. They weren’t upset with broken wine glass. Really felt appreciated. The one month price for a future visit was astronomical by Porto standards however they said they would work with price. Still I was shocked senseless.

Thank you for helping with our supper, having arrived late and restaurants were closed, and the welcome gift of port went well :-) The garden was amazing and we loved having meals outside listening to the water fountains. Ruby Charm Houses is definitely a quiet oasis in Porto. Positioned within easy walking distance between 2 metro stations, the city centre was accessible if you didn't want to walk (also doable). Hosts were so helpful and researched any questions they couldn't answer immediately. After 9 nights we felt part of the family. The garden is cleverly divided into seating/table areas, BBQ (which we used), shaded areas, water features and sculptures. The scent of the wisteria was incredible. There are local restaurants and shops too. The accommodation was comfy, including the bed, and design well thought out and we happily cooked our meals in the kitchenette. Really recommend Ruby Charm Houses for more than just somewhere to sleep! Can't think of anything

- Marta (9/5): Nice house in city centre - I had a nice stay in Ruby Charm House. Very good contact with the host who provided useful tips about Porto. House was clean and comfortable. Water, bread, juice, milk, snack and Porto wine provided on arrival. House is located between 2 metro stations, few minutes walk to each. They have a nice garden to relax. With the window open you hear water dripping in the garden fountain. Might be problematic to light sleepers.
