Breakfast was first-rate and our room was immaculate. Not a criticism, but please note that the hotel does not serve dinner (there options to eat nearby).

It was very near the train station. Breakfasts were amazing. A notice encouraging turning off all appliances to save electricity would make guests feel more onside and included. Sounds petty but guests don't want to feel a bother.

• Eva (10/5): Homely place to stay. - We've stopped in the hotel for a night on the way to Leeds. It was like staying with friends. Des and Sinead were welcomed us with genuine warmth. The hotel felt homely and a happy place. It is anything but as a standard hotel, even outside. On entering you are in a different world of colours, quirky displays chosen with careful consideration. There is so much to look and smile at. You don't find boring beige here. The bedroom was newly refurbished, tastefully decorated with live plant in the window; equipped with the latest 'technology,' coffee and tea maker, digital heating to choose the right room temperature; large screen LG TV with all the apps like Netflix, YouTube, BBC iPlayer. Very comfortable king size bed. In the bathroom there was even make-up removal cloth which I've never seen before. The room and the building is immaculate clean. I loved the breakfast room with its colourful chairs, the live tulip display in the windows and the quirky decoration. It makes you feel good and relaxed. The table were set beautifully; everything was top notch. The breakfast was excellent. You could create your own breakfast by choosing what was on your plate. The price was good value for money. Highly recommended; you won't be disappointed. Thank you Des and Sinead for your kind hospitality. Loved everything.

• Najia (10/5): - We had such a wonderful stay at the Osprey Hotel in Kingussie. From the moment we arrived, the husband and wife owners made us feel incredibly welcome. They were so friendly, helpful and genuinely warm throughout our visit. The whole place was absolutely immaculate. Everything was spotless, from the beautifully clean bathroom to the fresh, lovely smelling bedsheets. You can really tell how much care and attention goes into maintaining the space. The décor, both inside and out, was charming and quaint, creating such a cosy and relaxing atmosphere. The beds were unbelievably comfortable. We had one of the best nights’ sleep we have had in ages. Our kids loved their stay just as much as we did, especially since the owners clearly made them feel adored and welcome (sweet treats offered were a huge hit) which made it even more special for us as a family. Breakfast was another lovely, with generous portions, delicious food and a really relaxed, enjoyable setting to start the day. The whole experience felt calm, welcoming and thoughtfully put together. It is such a gorgeous place and we truly wish we could have stayed longer. We would not hesitate to come back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Nothing, everything was perfect.

• Ian (10/5): Great hosts, clean and well furnished plus the best welcome our dog has ever received. - We only stayed one night with our bouncy cockerpoo, to break a long journey, but were made to feel extremely welcome by our dog super friendly hosts Des and Sinead. The accommodation was very clean and tastefully furnished and nothing was too much trouble to make our stay as comfortable as possible, with a lovely cooked breakfast to set us up for our onward journey. Conveniently situated just off the A9 in the Cairngorms we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended.

• Line (10/5): Wish we could’ve stayed longer! - It’s hard to describe why you leave some places feeling happy and warm at heart, (and not really wanting to leave at all) but I’ll give it a go. The Osprey is a one of a kind hotel in the heart of Scotland. We booked it on a whim on our way back to Edinburgh after a week in the Highlands, it had the perfect location since we didn’t want to drive for too long, great reviews and a room available for three. Already at check-in you feel that it’s something out of the ordinairy. The owners Des and Sinead are warm and kind people with a great sense of humour, happy to help with restaurant suggestions or things to do in the area (or a birthday song, if you’re lucky!). The hotel itself is beautiful inside out, from the floral wallpaper and wooden floor to the picturesque stone facade partly covered in plants, nothing is left to chance. There’s no fuss or haste at The Osprey and we left feeling relaxed, well rested and wanting to come back! If the above isn’t convincing enough, in addition: The room was the nicest we had during our week in Scotland, super comfortable beds and bedding, a nice view over the park outside and very tasteful interior. The breakfast had a broad range of tasty and filling choices. The town of Kingussie itself was very charming and well worth a visit. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough.

Das Frühstück ist ebenfalls mit Liebe sehr lecker zubereitet. Für uns war es leider nur ein Punkt der Durchreise, wir kommen nochmal länger zurück, um den Nationalpark intensiver kennenzulernen.

• Khaoula (10/5): Le meilleur hébergement de tout mon roadtrip. - Il s’agit de l’hébergement que j’ai adoré le plus durant 2,5 semaines pendant notre roadtrip irlandais-écossais. Le personnel est d’une sincère gentillesse et amabilité. Nous avons fui plutôt que prévu l’île de Skye suite à une tempête et la propriétaire a fait de son mieux pour nous assurer un early check-in avec notre enfant de 2 ans. Les propriétaires sont un couple d’une extrême gentillesse et sincérité. J’ai rarement vu des personnes comme eux. C’est typiquement le genre de personnes qui nous marque à vie, et c’est aussi grace à vous deux que nous garderons toujours un excellent souvenir sur l’Écosse. Le petit déjeuner est fait maison, et les champignons sont succulents ! Un immense merci pour nous avoir reçu chaleureusement ! Je recommande cette maison d’hôtes authentique les yeux fermés!
