Guest Reviews
- John (8/5): - Clean and inexpensive. Everything I needed except WiFi. Small, no TV but I didn't mind.
- sumire (6/5): - For last minute accomodation, it was ok. The apartments are very small, the beds aren't very comfortable and the sheets were very rough. The bathroom was very small. Showers were dirty and mouldy. overall a very average stay.
- Pratap (4/5): - Very terrible experience. It is just like going into a dark prison, with rotten smell. The price was really cheap, however never imagined that these places exist in auckland.
- Abdallah (8/5): - Good
- David (6/5): - Overall was good for the price.
Staff had good communication. Our room was in a shared apartment with 2 other rooms, shared bathroom and kitchen.
Nice and quiet.
Only negative was no on site parking we had to park up the next street in a public carpark, which we had to pay more than our room.
- Emori (10/5): - For every traveler who's on a budget, this property is affordable and is within the Auckland CBD.
- Saul (2/5): - The property was near the nightlife and public transport. Also, lots of dining options nearby. Unfortunately the property wasn't great. The room hadnt been vacuumed properly and the furniture was caked in dust. Also, the property failed to mention the elevator had been broken for a month and i needed to walk with my luggage up 17 floors. I recommend considering other options if available.
- Steve (8/5): - Exactly what I booked, 2 bedrooms to sleep in and simple bathroom.
- Jackie (6/5): - Needs refurbishing and doesn’t look like what is in the photo’s. It smells like curry in the hallways. My knife broke on me (utensil) and no even milk provided. The employees are nice though.
- Sudhir (8/5): - nice staff, flexible, helpful. excellent location near grocery shops and public transport
- Sudhir (8/5): - Helpful friendly staff. Good location near groceries cheap food esp nearby kebab ,burger and pizza shop. Self contained 3 room Units have kettle fridge microwave and one can cook.
- Sudhir (8/5): - Have stayed here many times including before 2020 Covid. Very good convenient location near public transport and shops. Nice, friendly staff especially manager Steven Zhang. Very Good pricing, nice rooms, good facilities with kettle, microwave, fridge, and cooking utensils within the 3 room unit. Some rooms have fans. Please put fans in all rooms as it is getting hotter towards summer. Only one issue is pity that there is only 1 lift for a 20 floor building. it can take some time to go to your room or come down to reception as it can get very busy. Apart from that this is a very nice place to stay and would definitely stay here again in the future
- Rowan (4/5): - The saying you get what you pay for can only be stretched so far.
The price was ok, the location was great, but the state of the property was mind blowing.
I'm not sure how H&S hasn't shut this place down.
bones left on multiple levels of the staircase, fire hose fittings used as ash trays and vomit on the staircase wall that had dripped down 3-4 levels.
There is a smell of cigarettes throughout the building but is stronger at different levels.
The front desk attendant was polite enough, but did not really care about the issues I pointed out that could be easily fixed.
The room was fine for a night or 2 but feel that a minimal effort on cleaning could make a difference.
- Sudhir (10/5): - Nice place . However only 1 lift for a 20 storey building and in peak hours takes long time for lift to reach your floor as mine was 19th floor. Ideally another lift is needed.
- Ma Rocio (10/5): - Thanks to the hosting, good experience.
- Zoe (6/5): - was just okay, good for price is what you pay for
- Robert (2/5): - Bring a wedge with you to secure your bedroom door if you cannot afford anything better. Situated at the bottom of a very steep hill well away from amenities. Staff do not have a good grasp of English. I would avoid this and use backpackers or ordinary hotel such as the Albion in Hobson street instead.
- Hanzallah (6/5): - Pubes on the toliet
- Ma. Feliza Inez (8/5): - Carpark is tough. Good pricing, rooms are clean but can be made over.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Booked in my family for two nights, we ended up staying one night. It was AWFUL! The place was so dirty i just couldn’t believe it. The room we stayed in had 3 separate bedrooms, 1 toilet and shower. All disgusting! Nothing was clean absolutely nothing! I ended up putting their towels down on floor for us to walk as it was that dirty! I wiped fridge, sinks and tables before we even did anything. My poor children was so happy to stay in apartment for the weekend but i could not leave them one more night in that disgusting awful place. Elevators dirty and old and only one. Dodgy people walking in and out all the time. Not a place for children at all! The stairs was so disgusting and what the hell is that smell all over that place! You have been warned. Do not stay here. Rough and run down. Spend your money somewhere else. Im sorry to my children:(
- Verified traveler (8/5): One more - Very relaxing trip
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was different to the one booked. Had to choose between 2 rooms, 1 had no curtains, the other smelled of cigarettes
- Morgan C (8/5): Cheap basic accommodation - Good cheap accommodation, central. Nothing flash, but perfect for a short stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Its great for the price.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It's clean and very central, but the mattresses are TERRIBLE. Extremely uncomfortable. The rooms are small but have everything you need. They can be stuffy. There is no parking on site.
- andy (6/5): - average had to buy internet at $10 no tv a shared toliet and shower kitchen but i was only one in !
- Zara (2/5): - Half my bed was wet. Smelt like fish in the halls. There was blood on the ground. The toilet wouldn’t flush, which lead to water leaking on the ground and leaving a puddle.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Clean of dust and rubbish but grimy. Areas like the shower and kitchenette are a bit grimy. But it has good location
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good price, close to amenities, only down was bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, but considering the excellent price, I suspect there won't be much time alloted to servicing, and the cleaning staff were lovely
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location location location great!!
Servicing great also
However bathroom for me too small to sit on loo cupboard blockage. Shower recess could be cleaner!! Taps in bathroom very difficult to operate, no plugs for sinks
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very basic good location lots of keys made it hard to get into room
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pretty good budget accommodation can't really say much else.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - it was dirty and we couldn’t drink the water, and there was no onsite parking. good location in city centre though
- Verified traveler (8/5): Central lication - Central location, student accomodation
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for the price - Central location, this is also a student accomodation, only one lift but never waiting too long, have laundry.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Wouldnt stay again service was nothing and overall very very very dirty
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Sharing a bathroom isnt something i will do again any time soon x
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Not so good. Not clean enough. No heater. And the other occupants were noisy slamming the doors
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The walk to the property is a bit uneasy, the room is small and mainly students. The location is pretty strategic to city center.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Tiny room-have been in closers that were larger. No a/c. It is more of a very tiny dorm room for the adjacent university.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nobody in reception when we arrived, waited quite a long time then told we had been moved to adjacent Empire building. Room fine. Building appeared to be mainly student accommodation for Asian students. No parking available; we parked in a street 10 minutes walk away with meter payment from 8-6 Mon-Sat.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was OK, not special a bit hilly to get there if walking
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Dirty, noisy, window in my cell did not close properly,... nothing good to report appart from the location... walking distance to grafton campus .
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Just one lift servicing 17 odd floors. Small and budget, not flash but clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Low cost for location. Simple with the basics. Not the most space. Neutral experience with reception staff. Common area crammed and people leaving stuff covering the stair well.
- Amanda (8/5): Helpful Staff - I had a good stay at Columbia Apartments in Auckland and would recommend to people who are wanting affordable accommodation in the CBD.
The staff who helped me on each occasion I had an enquirer were very helpful. Thanks!
- Carlos (6/5): - Very basic student accomodations. Good for the price. Staff was nice and helpful.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It’s noisy and rooms are small and no common area.
Found bed bug and eggs on the bed.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was student housing... the windowsills and skirting boards were discusting and dirty. We had a shared bathrrom and people were being shown around whilst we were there, no privacy. The plugs didn’t work either so we couldn’t put the fan on. It was cheap though so I guess you get what you pay for.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - cheap and satisfactory
small but a bit of rubbish lying around
had to wait 20 minutes to find someone at reception on check in
