Guest Reviews
- Brian (10/5): - Staff was great,stay was comfortable
- Bruce (8/5): - History of the building was fantastic and the owner was very nice to visit with
- Tom (2/5): Stay Away ! - Kathy was very nice and accomodating. The hallway area was nicely decorated and the shower tiles were fairly new. Everything else sucked. Exterior would have scared most people away. Dirty, decrepit. Room was terrible. Mold on bathroom ceiling, terrible decor, dirty window sill, no air conditioner, no chair, no table lamp, ugly and dirty furniture. Paint spatters on entire floor, mismatched wall paint touch ups, no coffee cups, stirrers or sugar, freezer had frozen spill in it, no roku or remote for tv. Kathy offered to have her grandson take one from another room. I passed. Bed was comfortable, stains on sheets. My wife would NOT have stayed here. I will never again. Pay more and stay elsewhere.
- chadwick (8/5): - We went to holly for a family reunion and rented a room for 1 night. The staff was very accommodating, especially since they got a lot of rain and the room we were supposed to be in had a leak in the roof. They were able to move us to a different room without any issues despite being full booked.
- Susan (8/5): - We enjoyed our overnight stay in this unique “old west” property. Rooms simple and were clean. Bathrooms were nicely updated. Beds were comfy. Area is quiet. The eclectic decor is funky & fun.
- Blake (10/5): - A great, cute, and quiet place; a much-needed break from the usual big hotels. The lady running the place was very sweet and accommodating. I will be staying there again if work brings me through
- Thomas I (4/5): - There was nothing telling me there where no first floor rooms for ADA.
- joshua (10/5): - I cannot believe how amazing the staff was. The decor was outstanding. The hotel room was way roomier than I could’ve believed. It was truly an amazing stay in an amazing town. Please ask the staff about recommendations. They will not lead you wrong!
- Janet (10/5): - Unique!
- Samuel (10/5): - i liked it
- Jim (6/5): Highly Recommended - Despite Issues - There are always problems staying here. Usually, finding the owner to check in. Sometimes something doesn't work. This time I had no place to easily work on my laptop--there was a high table, but no chair that could work with it. And only overhead lighting, which I hate. Nevertheless, I love this place. It's not cookie-cutter. It has wood (original wood--not fake) floors, high ceilings, a kitchenette, and lots of charm. If you're tired of the chain hotels, this might be the place for you.
- teresa (4/5): - We were to call 30 minutes before we got there to get the code to get into building. We forgot but thought no big deal, well yes big deal, we had zero cell service in Holly and were unable to call to get code so we called when we got to a hotel in Lamar and told them why we weren’t staying there. They thanked us for letting them know. No apologies. We had already been charged for the room since we had booked through Expedia. Still not sure why they didn’t give us the code for building when we called a couple of days before our stay to confirm. Oh well, lesson learned.
- Jody (6/5): - In general the overall impression would be improved if the floors were refinished (look cleaner) Add a full length mirror, add a microwave. Hooks in the bathroom would be handy. Room could of been arranged better. I would turn the be toward the TV and then the light from the window wouldn't hit yout in the face in the morning.
- Yong Quan (10/5): - Room and beddings are very nice and clean. Kathy- office manager is patient to answer you questions quickly even at midnight.
- Tom (8/5): - The bed was really comfortable. Bathroom seemed to be recently updated. Very quaint decor. Overall a comfy stay.
- James (10/5): - Super nice staff n town
- penny (6/5): - Two of us and we got one towel, 1 coffee cup, coffee pot and no coffee.
- William E (10/5): - It is a quaint and fun hotel in an old building in a very small town. The decorations are old fashioned in a western theme. It is just a few doors down from a really nice grocery store, and a little community mexican restaurant.
It was a very enjoyable place to stay.
- James (10/5): - If u love the outdoors farm cowboy life n antiques and Ms Kathy n family are super nice n even fixed me dinner! The building was built in the 1800"s
- Alexander (10/5): - Very kind and personable staff at the Holly Inn! I was just passing through with many long drives before and after my stay, but very fun and neat decorations with a western theme and very hospitable people working there. There was a grocery store right next to the Inn making it easy to grab any food or necessities I would need. Don’t know if I’ll ever have to pass through the town of Holly, CO again, but if I do I’d be happy to stay there again
- Bonnie (10/5): - Absolutely loved this space! The folks who live and work there were so kind and helpful and everything was much cleaner than a more common hotel. Keep in mind that this is a very old building with lots of history. The walls are thin but I sleep with earplugs so sounds from other guests don't bother me. The grocery store next door has everything you might need and the rooms themselves are decorated with quirky antiques. A fun place for the adventurous traveler looking for a comfy spot for the evening. I will definitely stay here again!
- Joseph (6/5): - The hotel itself is not bad, but lack of attention to detail, like no soap or toilet paper in the bathrooms, brings it down. The place worked great in a pinch though, and the owners/managers are great with communication.
- Parryn (6/5): - Very quaint old building, but needed a good cleaning and smelled odd.
- Sarah (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay here. Friendly and helpful staff. Loved the old items throughout the hotel. Wonderful change from the "box hotels". Very clean.
- Laura (10/5): Historical Turn-of-the Century Hidden Treeat! - I was just driving through from Kansas to California. This little stop was precious. The town was cute and old fashioned and the hotel was a secret Hideway up a gigantic hidden set if stairs. So old fashioned, wood floors, 14’ ceilings, wide hallways, and full of fascinating antiques. The family taking care of the place was friendly, sweet, polite and generous. They brought me ice and showed me how to work the TV. I think they said it was a hotel from the turn of the last century (1901?). My room had a kitchen! The windows were gigantic! There were framed pictures of chickens everywhere. The only mishap I had was stepping on some sand-spurs that were stuck in the bathroom rug. OUCH! I was sooo hoping it was haunted but I did not get a visit. It reminded me of the Birdcage Hotel in Tombstone AZ. Sooo rich with history. Very imagination-provoking. I loved it. A great memory.
- Lee (10/5): - Unique older hotel building, all rooms are on the 2nd floor. Spacious rooms but care seems inconsistent. Kitchen was helpful but not stocked at all, no dishes, silverware, cups, etc. One room’s tv worked, the other’s didn’t. Not perfect but good for the price. Staff was very helpful.
- mark (10/5): - Kathy and her staff were absolutely wonderful, very very helpful before during and after my stay there. Thank you!
- mark (10/5): - Kathy and her staff were absolutely wonderful before during and after my visit. Thank you!
- Michael (10/5): - Not a typical hotel, but the room was clean and comfortable. Overall, a very nice stay.
- Keith (4/5): - An old hotel in an old building. Smelled musty and the floor creaked and was uneven. My wife did not feel comfortable there.
The phone contact was fine but we had to find another place.
- mario (10/5): - Quite town nice hotel workers, enjoyed the stay!
- Call (8/5): - A family run facility they were very helpful the hotel could have been built 120 years ago it's off the main drag so there wasn't any Street noise as I appreciate older things it was a good fit for me the rooms are upstairs so I feel I should tell you it's not for the disabled
- Bob (6/5): - Has great promise, but still needs a lot of work. One huge draw back is that the water is not safe to drink. So the coffee pot was useless. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Choose wisely. - Truly a one of a kind experience. Kathy is a larger than life character. She was quick to point out the hotel is haunted. Sure enough, we heard a knock on the door in the middle of the night. Kathy is a collector of many things most on display throughout. A unique accommodation.
- Craig (8/5): - Small town but still needs proper signage.
- Ellen (10/5): - The property was a very unique stay in a historic building with huge rooms. The host was very attentive and thought of everything for our girls after a long late car trip including snacks and milk. We would definitely stay again.
- Gene (8/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff.
Comfortable room and bed.
No TV
No cleanex
No plastic cups
- Cindy (8/5): - This hotel was very quaint and homey. It was nicely decorated. The only reak downfall was when we got up in the morning to take our showers the water was ice cold and never did warm up.
- Karine (8/5): - We arrived very late but they made sure we could get into our room and even turned the heat up for us! Very helpful staff! This is a very old building, but it was fun to stay in a place off yhe beaten path.
- Michelle (10/5): - Kathy gave us a tour of several of the rooms. Each are a different theme. She is a wonderful custodian of the hotel.
- elizabeth (4/5): - Old building that is clearly not ready for too many guests. There was no Toilet paper had to request, towels had holes and stained. Floors were dirty, left over groceries in refrigerator , common area outside was terrible.
- Jeffrey (2/5): - Old building is loud and dirty. Didn't have clean towels. There was trash in the trash cans. Never stay here
- James (8/5): Great hotel, if you like old things with charm - This is a wonderful old hotel, lots of charm and a friendly and helpful manager. Rooms are comfortable, though maybe with not every amenity you'd find at a Holiday Inn. Don't be put off by the front door, which looks a bit like an abandoned building. The inside is delightful
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Quit Place - Nice older themed hotel. Room was clean and spacious.
- DaLin (10/5): - It was a cute room decorated with antiques. We slept well.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We arrived after dark, had a hard time finding this as the building looks abandoned. Check in was on the street and the rooms are upstairs. No room key was provided and there was no staff at the location. Mattresses had hard plastic covers which were very noisy when you moved around on the bed. Room was clean, but it apeared that a towel and face cloth had been used.
- Bernd (4/5): - Bedbugs galore, still suffering from the itch of their bites.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Old property but very cool!
- Easton (10/5): One night family stay. - Great stay for one night. The grocery store is next door and a park just across the street. A little garden just below too. Manager was very nice and helpful.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The property was a old building 1873 there was only a outside entrance with a key pad to unlock door, 2 flights of steps to top floor, there is no lobby, no check in desk, no tissues in room, we got there early and met the person who was getting our room ready, who told us the room was paid in advance so we came back and went in and went to room, entrance door from street not locked after dark.No panic bar to unlock door from inside. Nothing about this place is Handicapped accessible. No elevator to rooms. We are not handicapped so we were not affected. This is not what you think when you see a ad for Holly Inn Suites I suggest you send out a rep to check this place out.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Total cleanliness sheets were fithy, towels had holes in it you could see thru
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We love the old places. They always have character. This was a fun stay in a nice place, in a friendly town.
- 459krystalr (10/5): Clean & cozy!! - We stayed in room one! It was spacious, amazing view, clean, quiet, cozy! You did not feel like u we’re in a hotel! You felt like you were at home and fully relaxed! Had everything you needed to get a good nights rest and a good cup of coffee to wake up with! The bathroom was updated and very clean! We came in off of a crazy storm chase day and was exactly what we needed at the end of the night! The manager Kathy was an absolute delight to have as our host! She really does an amazing job! Would definitely recommend for anyone that wants to feel at home!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There was no toilet tissue and no soap and the manager went home right after we checked in. The bed sagged in the middle. The floors were 100 years old and splintered. Worst night of my life!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Like traveling back in time with 29th century architecture complemented with modern amenities. Clean room, comfortable bed, and small town charm.
- Z9054KPstevem (2/5): Thieves and drug dealer - we checked in and already had a bad taste. The head crook gives us a live in guys room while he was away. Access to all his personal property and before I realized it was illegal she has her son in ours and the retired cops room selling bags of pot and meth amphetamine. We should have left. But this is a undeveloped part of colorado. So next morning we inform the crook we're heading into pueblo to our closest bank and we fed and watered my SERVICE pups and leave. The missus returns to pay the woman and grab our clothing needed from the uhual rental with all my shop supplies in it and the truck is gone, as were our puppies. Her excuse is they tore something up and you can have your pups and property back but I got 6 big mexicans if you aint got my money. LMAO HA....please. Well lafdy the bigger they are the harder they fall....So explain your theft and treatment of your clients here. Photos on request. SHUT THIS SLUM DOWN
- donnad908 (10/5): Amazing! Such nice people! - Traveling with friends on motorcycles. We were met by Kathy and her family. They were all so pleasant and inviting. We even spent time giving the grandkids a ride on the bike and slingshot. By the time we left we felt like family. The building is a wonderful historic structure and you feel like you are stepping back in time. Lots of history here. Rooms are large and the price was fantastic! Great breakfast too. Would definitely recommend and we will stay again!
- 456jeffi (10/5): Very comfortable stay - We were on a road trip from Texas to Boulder and found this place online. Holly is a very small, quiet town, and the Inn was built in the late 1800's. Big, spacious room-especially for the price. Room had a refrigerator and microwave as well. I don't get the poor reviews that I saw about this place-it's quiet, definitely safe, and worth the stay. We'll be back!
- JayDee2404 (10/5): Awesome Hotel - This is a nice, quiet hotel in a cool little town. The people that checked us in were polite and generous. The room we stayed in was clean and up to date. HD TV and high speed WiFi internet. Excellent price for everything that was included. I felt safe and comfortable. I would love to stay here again if I ever find myself in this area in the future.
- blackpowder54 (10/5): I needed a bed - I wanted an inexpensive room because I wasn't getting reimbursed. Hotel was for my advantage to save early morning travel 2 days after a blizzard. I checked a couple places and the place caught my eye. Building was built in 1873 and has 9 2nd floor rooms. Manager visited with me for several minutes about building, let me pick my own room then answered questions that I had not thought to ask. Kathy was very helpful and her daughter called later to insure I had her phone # just in case I needed anything later or had any questions. Places to eat were pointed out and I was told each persons name who was staying here so I wouldn't feel like a stranger. This phone number is a keeper.
- MasonEthan (10/5): Cozy - I like the place from the outside u look at it and think egg but once u get inside completely renovated nice beds Kitchener fridge tv with Wi-Fi Netflix the whole 9 yards.has original oak wood floors in it that have been sanded and varnished Its nice. Bathrooms are remodeled very clean place tile shower a.c. and heater works great I have enjoyed my stay.
- kaylamV9355GC (10/5): Adorable - Amazing place to stay. So cute and charming. The decor is so so adorable. My daughter loved sitting in the window watching the birds and traffic. We will stay here next time we are on town. Love it so much. Thank you!!!!
- I406TZshawnm (8/5): Cool Place to Stay - Stayed at the Holly Inn Suites twice while working in the area. Once in October 2017 and again in May 2018 for 2 weeks each trip. Hotel is in a historic old building from the 1800's I believe. Farah (owner) and Kathy (manager) were great both times, very accommodating. Located right next to a grocery store, gas station and laundry mat. I would definitely stay again while working in the area. Thanks again!
Shawn
- SamanthaBates1234 (8/5): Charming - I loved the openness and the hardwood flooring in the rooms. I was very happy that i could open the windows in my room. I felt very comfortable and safe during my stay and found the hotel very charming.
- Dbmontano (2/5): Super sleezy - This "inn" is dirty and super creepy. We had to find somewhere else 25 miles away, because we were so creeped out! A local stopped us outside and told that they were forced to stay (storm damage to their home) and they got bed bugs! Sketchy place!
