The food did cause diarrhea, so I guess the toilet might have been intended for convenience. It is a chipple and the people are at least friendly on the surface.

• Carrie (4/5): Peut mieux faire - L’hôtel est trés facile d’accés en métro depuis Amsterdam central dans un quartier agréable. Idéal pour un concert au "Carré". La chambre bien que minuscule et très chère est correcte et suffisante pour un court séjour. Le personnel est sympatique et attentif. J’etais venue. Il y a quelques années et j'étais ravie de revenir.Quelle deception! J’ai demander à changer de chambre (pour des questions de sécurité et de confort) en payant la différence bien sûr. La réponse a été proche du refus catégorique. Seule solution proposée: que j’annule ma réservation donc ce qui signifie la perte de la somme déjà payée et que je refasse une réservation. Je n’ai pas apprécier cette réponse ridicule.. La reception ne m’a pas refais de reservation ,et on m’a fait comprendre que ma reservation d’une chambre simple(au même prix qu’une chambre double tout de même)ne me donnais droit à rien d’autre . Les raisons évoquées par la suite pour expliquer ce refus ne sont pas crédibles. (hôtel presque complet et alors ?!). Je tiens quand même à remercier la manager que j’ai vu le lendemain (Sandy) et la jeune femme de la reception pour leur écoute et leur bienveillance. On m’a proposer de changer de chambre . Ce geste est digne d’un hôtel de ce prix. J’ai aussi apprécier que la manager avec qui j’avais échanger à mon arrivée prenne le temps de discuter avant mon départ. Je suis partie exaspérée et je ne reviendrais pas . À l’avenir je choisirais un autre hôtel .

The value too expensive for what they offer. My stay in the one in San Francisco was excellent, unfortunally I can't say the same4 in this one in Amsterdam.

• Clare (10/5): The staff and general atmosphere are what puts Citizen M far apart from other hotels eg the Hilton. Sebastian from Fi - The staff make Citizen M what it is ! That’s why we chose it. The beds are also very comfy ! The shower had a slight leak, and it was expensive to stay there considering breakfast wasn’t included in the price.

De kamer is compact, maar is handig ingedeeld. Dat de bar 24 uur open is, is ook fijn. Alles bedienen met de Ipad is even wennen, maar alles werkt goed. Het ontbijt was goed. Wij misten bekers/glazen in de kamer. Het beddengoed had een, voor mij, sterke wasmiddelgeur, waar ik allergisch voor ben (geparfumeerd wasmiddel) waardoor het voor mij lastig slapen was. Mijn partner had hier geen last van.

• shannonlady85 (4/5): $400 Hostel Room - We booked this hotel primarily because it is in the Marriott family of brands and had very good reviews. I would highly recommend against staying here. It is the smallest hotel room I have ever seen in my entire life (especially for $400). It looks like a hostel with tiny jail windows you can’t open. We were so sad we didn’t stay at the some of the other hotels we have stayed at in Amsterdam before (like the Clayton, which inexplicably has worse reviews). Or have spent just a bit more for a luxury experience. We couldn’t open two suitcases in the room at the same time because the floor space was so minimal. No coffee, tea, anything in the room. We wished so badly we could have checked out immediately and gone somewhere else. The staff seem really enthusiastic and nice thus two stars.

• poppie1967 (8/5): Comfy & bijou! - Lovely hotel with very courteous and attentive staff. Very quiet in the hotel when we were there, but that suited us. Bar is open 24 hrs! The bed and pillows were divine! Comfy and warm. The room is quite small and compact. There is only a small place for hanging clothes but nowhere really to put suitcases. We did manage to find drawers under the bed, which was useful. The downside to the room, although comfy, was that you were hemmed in, in the bed! If you wanted to go to the toilet or get out of bed, you had to crawl to the end!! The room has an ipad/smart controls which was great. The blackout blinds were a godsend. Everywhere, clean and staff on hand for any assistance. We didn't have breakfast there as there were enough cafes/restaurants in the area to choose from and a great bakery next door. It was a satisfying stay, and we would definitely return, albeit we may try to get a bigger room if they have one!!

The room was small and a bit cramped. Not much space for cases and hanging things. Also we had to crawl out of bed to the end to get out but it was a very comfortable bed 😊

The bed was a super king which was very very comfortable- it was a lovely bed. Within the hotel, there aren’t any facilities such as gym or fitness centre. But the 24hr bar/cafe provides a great selection of snacks and water on tap. The staff are super friendly and the hotel is spotless. Its prime location, most attractions are within walking distance. The tram and metro are just outside the hotel. I would most definitely stay at the hotel, it’s really good value for money. I shouldn’t class this as a bad thing because it’s for safety. But, our friends were on separate floors to us, and we couldn’t get to them. each room is allocated to a specific floor. If you’re on floor one, your key access card won’t allow you to get to floor two, three or four.

• SavvyTravelsUSA (10/5): CitizenM is Centrally Located…Best of Service - CitizenM is Centrally Located… Best of Service January 2026 This hotel brand is new to the Marriott Hotels. Not only did we love it here, we earned points. Hotel is right in front of a bus stop, so easy to get around. Very clean, very quiet, small, well appointed rooms. I never worry about the size of the room as I’m only there to sleep! Everything in the room is controlled by an IPad. It was fun! Best part was the service! Amazing check in staff and bartender. They made the trip so much more fun. CitizenM’s lobby is set up with small conversation seating. They encourage their guests to sit at the bar for a drink or in one of the conversation areas vs sitting in your room. Great concept!

Çok temizdi , çalışanlar çok yardımsever ve güler yüzlüydü. Odalar daha sıcak ve geniş olabilirdi. Giriş aşırı sıcaktı fakat odalar maalesef biraz soğuktu. Isıtma vardı fakat sanırım derecesinden kaynaklı biraz soğuktu. Klima eklenebilir veya ısıtıcının derecesi revize edilebilir.

For me alone was perfect - location is 2 metro stops from main area and 3 stops from central. Again was fine for me just buy a 24-48-72 hour metro pass and you get used to the stations very fast
