• Abi (8/5): Lovely place - Lovely place where the whole family seems to look after you! A minute from a little beach with a bar where you can watch sunset. Xavier's communication was great and he picked me up from the ferry and arranged a great tour with Elmer around the island. Great value

• Heike (8/5): Ruhig, aber nicht zu weit abgelegen - Wir wollten ans Wasser und raus aus dem Ort, aber fanden es logistisch sinnvoller, auf der Seite der Insel zu bleiben. Casa Dilany liegt in einem ruhigen Teilort, noch in Gehweite zur Moyagalpa. Es ist aber auch spottbillig, ein TukTuk zu nehmen. Über die Straße kommt man direkt zum Strand. Alle Unterkünfte mit Sitzbereich außen. Sehr ruhig, abends ab ca. 20.30 ist Stille. Man kann Mopeds/ATVs/Autos mieten, die man ans Haus geliefert bekommt. Gemeinschaftsküche mit Essbereich und Hängemattenbereich. Abendessen und Frühstück gibt es auf Vorbestellung. Super Wäscheservice. Es war per WhatsApp immer jemand erreichbar, wenn man Fragen hatte, was brauchte. Auch Ausflüge und Transfers kann man buchen. Unser Transfer nach San Juan del Sur ab Fähre hat super geklappt und war sehr günstig. Der Strand ist perfekt, um den Sonnenuntergang zu beobachten und/oder Vögel, Fledermäuse, Glühwürmchen... Leider etwas verdreckt (Hunde, Pferde). Das Hostel direkt am Wasser gehört der Schwester - da wäre vielleicht eine gemeinsame Nutzung des gepflegten Strandbereichs eine tolle Idee. Die Küchenausstattung ist zu knapp bemessen, insb. intaktes Kochgeschirr fehlt.

• Anonymous (10/5): Awesome staff! Highly recommend! - This place was everything it promised. Starting with the warm welcome from Javier and the staff which by the way is all family. Convenient location to the port. Excellent and HOnESt prices. They also have clean running water all year around due to their on property well. Which is a true gem on this island in omltepe or Moyogalpa. Well it’s not related to the property because it’s Nicaragua but be prepared for bugs.

• Ada (6/5): Pleasant - We stayed at the top house, which has a nice balcony! Everything was clean & you are surrounded by nature. The host was super kind and always ready to help. When we booked this accommodation, there weren’t many pictures showing the inside of the room, so we weren’t entirely sure what to expect. It was a bit of a surprise when we arrived. If you’re booking the top house, be aware that you’re practically sleeping outdoors. The walls are made of bamboo with numerous gaps, allowing wind, insects, and noise to easily come through. Additionally, this room is located right next to the reception, so it starts getting quite noisy from around 6 AM.
• Daniël (10/5): Authentic nicaraguan stay - The cabañas are owned by a local family that really put their customers first. We were picked up at the ferry, last minute taxi request was handled by the father of the family himself, and the sons were always around to answer any questions. The WhatsApp service was amazing and we always had an answer within the half hour. The location is beautiful and remote. There is an amazing and remote beach nearby that is perfect for the sunset. You can do laundry and have breakfast or dinner that is done/prepared by the mother of the family. It was a real great experience to stay here with this family! The pillow in the bed was very hard, which made falling asleep a bit less comfortable. Other than that only positive things!

• Peter (8/5): Perfect landing on Ometepe at Cabanas Privadas Dilany - Xavier, Alejandro and family are great, very friendly helpful, and speaking English. They supported us with everything we needed like pickup, transfer, tours, scooter hire, etc. The choice of breakfast and diner are fine and very good at good price/quality. We had an upper cabin with comfortable beds, mosquito net, bathroom with toilet and (cold) shower also at a good price/quality. WiFi was available in the room and suited our demand. It's a good place to meet and talk with other guests or be private at your room.

• Jaime-lynn (10/5): Highly recommended to anyone looking to relax and enjoy the real experience of nicaragua - Absolutely everything. This experience isn’t like a hotel but like a home. The family that owns this place makes you feel comfortable and safe. Mom cooks the best food on the island. We loved the dinners and breakfasts. We loved the peace and serenity of the local neighborhood but still having a nice common area. Nothing. It was honestly the best part of nicaragua.

• Florian (9/5): Superb - The cabin is very cute - it’s almost like a treehouse! The bed was comfy and equipped with a mosquito net and the bathroom was clean. Wifi worked really well. Alejandro and his brother speak English and are really helpful. We rented a high quality scooter from them for a fair price. They have a pool table and you have access to a fridge. The price was also very fair. Not so much a negative but more of an FYI - the cabin isn’t fully enclosed and at one point a huge bug was crawling on the outside of our mosquito net - gave us a bit of a fright! We were hoping to eat dinner here based on the description but it was not available the day we stayed (they had a sign saying no dinner Saturday and Sunday but we were there on a Monday). Not a big deal, but had to take a tuk tuk into town instead.
• Lyds (10/5): Home away from home 🏡 - Alejandro and his brother were so lovely, knowledgable and helpful during my stay. They both speak very good English and make sure you are looked after and have a top experience. Would highly recommend Alejandro’s brother for the scooter rental. It was such a good quality bike, it ran brilliantly and was very economic. Would recommend using his rental even if you don’t stay, he has a shop by the port. 🙂
• Leen (9/5): Excellent - The owner and his family ( wife and 2 sons ) are really very helpful. The food is very good and so is the price. The sunset at the lake, just across the road, is amazing beautiful.
• Fatosh (8/5): Beautiful green atmosphere but location... - Balcony, green atmosphere, bamboo decorations. They help you to arrange activities like hiking trip to conception volcano, etc. Xavier answer your questions when you have. He and his family werw nice people. Location is not good if you don't want to rent a car or scooter. You need to take a taxi or tuk tuk. There is no restaurant or shops around. I wish there was purified water and fridge to be able to use. And if you do hiking to Volcano Conception, be careful with the guide. Xavier arranged a guide for us. It is a whole day hiking, but %70of people give up after the mirador. When our guide found out that we were continue to the top, he was not happy at all and he forced us to be fast. When your heart is beating 150/minutes, you need to take small breaks. He demotivated us. We had physical difficulties following days. He was saying "we need to go back, it is getting dark" at 11:30am. We were at the top at 12:20.he didnt let us stay more than 10 mins in that beautiful view.

Alejandro the son is a great source of local knowledge and I appreciated his stories about the life and culture here. I had a medical issue and they went above and beyond to bring me to a doctor and help me. Xavier also makes renting out bikes very easy. I had the best fish dinner there, shout-out to the lovely mother. pick all the beautiful mangos off to the ground to eat!

Javier and his family are amazing, they really looked after us and helped us organise absolutely everything we needed on the island. Javier's Mum also cooks dinner which is so cheap, and the BEST breakfast pancakes ever. Her cooking was so good that we had dinner there every night ha ha. Honestly we are so happy we stayed here, it was such a beautiful experience. They also have a pool table and a beautiful beach bar with amazing views of sunset every night. Nothing!

• Bruce (10/5): No place like home ! - Wonderful local family with quaint cabañas on a perfect piece of property close to Puesta de sol lake access , swimming in the lake is so nice on a hot day ! Mother cooks a wonderful breakfast and dinner to your liking. Highly recommend 😊 Also rent nice motos on site, perfect ! What ever you wanted they can help you with ! Nothing I didn't like !

They are also very patient, so I was able to practice my basic spanish skills :) - If you want, they offer to cook for you. The food was freshly prepared, very tasty and some ingredients, e.g. fruits and beans were even homegrown! - They can arrange different tours for a very reasonable price. Alejandro drove me around the island during an entire day and he was an excellent guide as well as driver!

• Eric (10/5): - The family who owns this budget no frills hotel gave us outstanding treatment from beginning to end. Of course on an island there are many insects so we used nets above the beds. The room is simple, without AC but there are several fans which helped cool us off at night. Our breakfast & dinner were delicious between fruits & pancakes (which owner woke up early to prepare at 5am on day of Concepcion Volcano climb), fish & vegetables, chicken with rice & beans. Always served with fresh juice. Can walk down few meters to the beach for drinks, hammock & a cool bench to see sunset. Also not far from Jesus Maria Point they can call you a taxi or suggest other cool things to do on the island just ask they are so helpful ❤
