• Altan (10/5): Der schönste Ort mit großer Gastfreundlichkeit. - Wir hatten traumhafte Tage hier und wahrscheinlich ist das der schönste Ort, an dem wir jemals waren. Das Hotel liegt super, vom Zimmer hatten wir den schönsten Blick auf den Garten bis hin zum Meer. Es ist sehr ruhig, morgens wird man von den Vögeln geweckt, nachts hört man nur das Meer rauschen. Die Zimmer sind grosszügig geschnitten und liebevoll eingerichtet, die Betten sehr bequem. Auch das Bad ist gross und man hat alles, was es braucht. Das ganze Hotel ist extrem sauber. Tome ist ein toller Gastgeber, immer ansprechbar und freundlich, wir konnten uns gut verständigen. Wir haben einen tollen Schnorchelausflug mit ihm gemacht und er hat uns dabei eine sehr schöne Ecke der Insel gezeigt. Der Traum-Strand ist nur ein paar Gehminuten entfernt, wir haben Badetücher vom Hotel bekommen und für entlegene Ecken konnten wir uns die Räder leihen. Auch das Frühstück war fantastisch. Zudem ist das Hotel plastikfrei, das geht vom Wasserfilter bis hin zu den Zimmern in denen Holz und natürliche Baustoffe vorrangig sind. Die Terrasse ist nachts die perfekte Aussichtsplattform für den fantastischen Sternenhimmel. Vielen Dank, wir freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch. Das wir irgendwann abreisen mussten.

Un lieu paisible et un appartement spacieux doté d’une vaste terrasse. La sollicitude de notre hôte Tome à faire de notre séjour un souvenir mémorable. Ses recommandations sur les bons petits restaurants aux alentours (à distance de marche) ont été précieuses. Aussi, il nous a amenés en bateau pour une sortie en snorkeling de toute beauté. La vue depuis la terrasse de la chambre était idyllique, la plage a côté de l'hôtel était magnifique, très calme. Le restaurant situé à quelque minutes de marche était lui aussi fantastique. • Jackie (10/5): 천혜의 자연을 품은 풍경을 눈 뜨자마자 볼 수 있는 곳 - 미지의 숲에 우리밖에 없는 듯한 풍경이 너무나도 인상깊었습니다. 3월이라 비수기라 그런지 저희밖에 없어서 방음에 대한 문제도 전혀 없었어요. 다시 한번 이리오모테를 간다해도 꼭 마야구스쿠에 머물고 싶습니다. 톰은 매우 친절했으며 자전거 대여, 스노클링을 위한 구명조끼 등 모든 것에 굉장히 친절하고 협조적이었습니다.

• Yuuko (9/5): かわいい - 古い施設でしたが、2組限定のこぢんまりした可愛いリゾートホテルでした。 オーナーも穏やかで良い人柄が滲み出ていました。 ロケーションもよく、静かでゆっくりできました。 ベランダからの景色も素晴らしかったです。 晩は徒歩で行ける居酒屋に行きました。 朝食はアオサのお粥や地元のお野菜、鮭などおなかに優しいメニューでした。 ボディーソープ、シャンプー、コンディショナーがアルファベッドだけでの記載で、コンディショナーだろうと思われるものも泡が出ていて違ったのかな？ わかりやすくかいてほしいです。

• Yngvild (10/5): Unforgettable and beautiful stay - Our stay was truly exceptional. The property is immaculately clean, beautifully designed, and aesthetically refined — it feels like stepping into a dream from another time. Every detail is thoughtful and harmonious, creating a deep sense of calm and care. Breakfast was outstanding: delicious, carefully prepared, and presented with great beauty and attention. The decorations throughout the property were exquisite and added to the feeling of quiet elegance. The outdoor bathtub on the veranda was an unforgettable experience. Sitting in warm water, listening to the sounds of the jungle while enjoying the view, felt both luxurious and deeply peaceful.The host was exceptionally kind, attentive, and patient. We traveled with teenage boys, and despite the noise and disorder that can sometimes follow a family like ours, we were met with nothing but warmth, understanding, and genuine care throughout our stay. This place is rare. We felt truly cared for, and the experience will stay with us for a long time. I liked everything. Everything was truly exquisite.

• Juan Ángel (10/5): Excelente estancia en Iriomote con un dueño muy simpático - La ubicación, el tamaño y diseño de la habitación es ideal. Es como tener tu propio estudio donde puedes cocinar si quieres. Y las vistas son muy bonitas. Tome me hizo sentir como en casa con su hospitalidad y se preocupó por mí durante mi estancia. Me ayudó muchísimo durante mi tiempo en Iriomote. Muy recomendable, volvería sin duda.

• Sofie (10/5): An incredible and authentic place to stay - Our stay at Mayagusuku Resort was one of the most memorable of our 6-week long trip. Tome was an incredibly good and attentive host and made sure we saw the best sides of Iriomote. The hotel was spacious, breakfast was tasty, and the room was very comfortable - and included the most incredible view of cliffs and the sea and the star-filled sky at night. We also loved cycling around the island on the provided bikes, for example to the gorgeous nearby beach. The highlight of our stay on Iriomote was the guided boat trip that Tome guided. We sailed around in the area, snorkelled, and went to a secluded beach - an amazing trip! All in all, a big recommendation for anyone going to Iriomote
• Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Tome was so welcoming & kindly collected us from the ferry terminal. He showed us around and had left some fresh pineapple for us to enjoy (so delicious!) The room was huge with a little kitchen, a dining table & big sofa. There was a private terrace to enjoy the sea & to stargaze at night (it is a dark sky location so this was incredible on a clear night). The bedroom & bathroom were also very spacious and everything was incredibly clean. The location was fantastic, within walking distance to many bars & restaurants. Tome kindly let us borrow bikes to explore beaches that were a bit further away, although there was a beautiful secluded beach a 5 minute walk away. Breakfasts were genuinely incredible. Lovingly prepared and with a mixture of local delicacies and some western aspects. Very generous portions! We had a wonderful time & are so grateful to Tome for making our trip so memorable.

The hosts were super welcoming, the rooms, breakfast, location and arrangement of activities (tour in the mangrove and snorkeling) made the whole family super happy. The view from the room is super relaxing and the proximity with the beach is really great! We strongly recommend this address!

The staff were so friendly and helpful, the room was excellent, the breakfast was excellent, the surrounding area is beautiful.. Travel tips: 1. Do the kayak & hike tour to Pinasara Falls (e.g. with Activity Japan, Ika the guide is awesome) 2.. Book dinner! There are only a handful of small restaurants nearby and we almost went hungry one night. Beds were a bit hard but still ok

• Samantha (10/5): Wonderful stay! - the family that owned the hotel were lovely and so helpful, they sorted out all our evening restaurant reservations for us ( there are not many places to eat and they get booked up quickly so even though its super quiet you need to reserve) and even drove us to the restaurant on the first night, they also gave us a lift into town to catch the ferry on the last day. the room was large and characterful and the balcony and the view and the hot tub were great. there is an amazing beach just 5 minutes away. its super remote, no shops at all, so bring food. the beds were a little hard for westerners!
• Julian (8/5): A very nice experience for people who just want to lie back. - The forte of this guesthouse is the wonderfully pristine view out onto the sea and hills without any building. So just pure nature. There was an impressive collection of jazz CDs that could be played on the room's CD player. The floor and furniture need a good revarnishing.

• Gijs (10/5): An amazing place to stay on Iriomote! - What an amazing place. The apartment is roomy and very comfortable and has a big balcony with a breathtaking view, over the garden and bay and also the nights sky. It is great to have a couch in the living room to relax and the bathroom is big with a nice shower. The owner is very kind and helpful and knows just enough English to be able to arrange everything you need. There is free snorkeling gear, which we used for Ida beach, and we also did a snorkeling tour with the owner which was great. We got a private tour to some very nice snorkel spots with no other people/boats around. Saw a lot of sea turtles too! The location is great, as said with a gorgeous view. Having a car is recommended though as this makes getting around on Iriomote much easier. Cant recommend this place enough!
• Brett (10/5): Your own private tropical haven. - Outstanding location and extremely helpful innkeeper. The nearby beach is nearly deserted and your own private paradise. We liked everything. Iriomote is difficult if you don’t know Japanese. But, the English speaking owner can help arrange nearly anything.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Iriomote perfection - I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Iriomote. There's lots of space on the property, including a massive bathroom and a huge terrace, with a sea view where you can see the stars at night. There's also lots of wildlife that can be easily seen from many areas on the property, for example frogs and coconut crabs. It's extremely peaceful, with only two rooms (and the other was unoccupied when we stayed) The breakfast each morning is small but delicious, and they take care to change the menu every day. The biggest reason for giving the highest rating to this property was that we got stuck on the island during a typhoon. The owner helped us by arranging an extra night, and then driving us to various places such as lunch and the supermarket so that we could still enjoy our stay as much as possible. The owner can speak good English if you're worried about communication. The location is also convenient; perhaps a 10 minute or so drive from the main ferry port, and a couple of great restaurants within walking distance.

• Verified traveler (10/5): 最高すぎました！ - お部屋も庭も大切に手入れされている気持ちのいいホテルでした。朝も夜も静かで強制的な音がしない。穏やかなオーナーさんの笑顔も安心でした。西表島で無駄なゴミを出さないための多少の不便さはありましたがこの島を守るためには必要なことだと納得！ 夕食は大変美味しくいただきましたがお値段が少しするので長期滞在する方は部屋に炊飯器からレンジ、食器、コーヒーメーカーまでが十分に揃っているので近くのスーパーで買ってきて自炊する事をお勧めします。 また行きたい！むしろ住みたいwホテルでした。 ありがとうございました！
• Lin (8/5): - 民宿距離海灘不遠，也可以向民宿主人免費借用腳踏車。房間很大也很漂亮，可以感覺到主人的用心，陽台可以看到海，也有躺椅可以躺著曬太陽。民宿有供應早餐，味道很好，可惜份量很少。聯絡方面有些問題，民宿主人發訊息說我有在入住前打電話告知他入住時間卻遲遲未到，但是我根本沒有撥電話給他，關於這個部分真的有點奇怪，但又不知道是什麼樣的問題。
