Guest Reviews
- Rallu (10/5): - Excellent location, friendly and helpfull staff, near excellent restaurant, including Tibétan food.
- Chun Wai (9/5): -
- Emilie (10/5): -
- pva1976 (10/5): - The location is the best ,it is in the centre of the city.
The personnel are good, breakfast is good.
It is good hotel.
- Daniele (8/5): -

- songjia (9/5): -
Staff gentile, prezzo vantaggioso.
Colazione molto essenziale, poca scelta.
- Sebastian (9/5): Great time hope to come back some day. - Staff and room and location.
- Oleg (10/5): -
- Kamil (9/5): Great value to the price - Very unusual place in a good way. It’s located in Tibetan part of Chengdu. So the climate is specific, lots of mixing cultures. The personel was helpful and friendly. Well rooms need refreshment;) but at that cost and good location do not complain ;)
- Francois (9/5): Superb -
- Sv (8/5): I recommend it for a few nights. - The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the metro. The staff was polite and friendly, helping us figure out the Alipay app. The breakfast was delicious. The room had everything necessary. The room isn’t the newest, but for the price, it’s a great option.
- Jasmin (7/5): Pleasant stay, get what you pay for. - Great breakfast, lovely helpful staff. Grateful for self service laundry. Pretty run down, have to be mindful to be careful with things as they fell apart. Eg shower head, wall sockets, etc. could also feel the springs in the mattress, and there was a loud mechanical hum outside my window that never stopped. Other than that, perfectly fine.
- Nguyễn (7/5): Good - Average.
- Linyu (7/5): Great location for okay price - Perfect location and very friendly staff. Great food in the area and plenty to see which quick distance The bed was rock hard and the room was a bit dirty— there were flies around and the room smelled mildewy, mainly also because the bathroom didnt drain very well.
- Chin (8/5): Good place to stay. Nice staff and professional services - Very reasonable price! No elevator
- Kunchok (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- Pinkfish (9/5): Superb -
- Mason (8/5): Very good - It was a solid breakfast and it met our needs
- Margaret (5/5): Hand to all and ok - Very central to all Beds were very hard could do with a topper.
- Jung (1/5): Rlly bad - None No heater and very small room. Different from

- Ben (9/5): Superb -
- Mygingermint (6/5): Pleasant - I like their breakfast, especially porridge in the cold morning.
The location is near to location of 钦善斋, well known restaurant. The toilet has an annoying smell when flushing.
- Bartłomiej (9/5): Very nice in good area - Staff was very helpful / Price affordable / Amazing area in Good location / cleaning service Beds - not co comfy
- Jose (10/5): Nice place to stay, very well located, clean and quiet. Good breakfast! - Very nice place, room big, clean and confortable. Quiet area and good breakfast, I totally recommend it! Nothing
- Denis (2/5): Liars. Making problems, doesn't want to pay comission to Booking. - Location is on Tibetan market, many shops around. Absolutely terrible demanding on reception to cancel the order on booking.com because they don't want to pay commission. Also false information on Booking that the hotel doesn't need prepaid amount or credit card information. After I booked it, they send an e.mail saying that if I will not prepay to their PayPal, they can cancel my booking. But even after I send them the whole booking price and came to hotel, they asked me to cancel my booking online as they don't want to pay commission to Booking, or I need to pay more. Finally I did't pay more than Booking price but they were not just asking about cancelling but almost demanded it, so I have very bad impression on this hotel. Liars.
- Sandra (7/5): Perfect budget hostel to enjoy the fun experience of Jinli Street - Great location next to Jinli street. Staff very helpful. I had double room en suite, which had all the facilities I needed. Breakfast was basic, but it tasted good.
- Sue (9/5): Superb - Excellent value, very comfortable, everyone friendly and great breakfast.
- John (7/5): Good -
- Chris (9/5): A calm place, conveniently located to explore the busy Tibetan shopping area of the town. - Centrally located in a busy Tibetan area.
- Sonrisa (7/5): Good -
- Katarzyna (8/5): Very good - The location was really good, indeed a walking distance to the shrines is a few minutes. Located in a Tibetan district, a chance to eat local food, buy some stuff etc. Room was nice, quite spacious and well-equipped. Staff was helpful and spoke some English. Nice but very Chinese breakfast. Almost free washing of clothes.- amazing. There was supposed to be a terrace to sit and hang out - it's closed and used as bedding storing now and this is very stange and dissapointing.
- R (7/5): Goold location, helpful staff - Good location. Cleanliness can be improved especially toilet
- Anita (8/5): Very good -
- Asha (9/5): Superb -
- Louisa (9/5): Comfy hotel in good location - Great location, close to the temple and park and Jin Li alley - lovely to be able to walk out on our first day in the city straight into exploring. Bed was comfy and bathroom had a shower with good pressure (not just a wet room). The staff were friendly and helpful. There are lots of things you can book via the hostel - like the Sichuan Opera (which was great fun, and which they helped us book just an hour before it started). There's a lovely Tibetan restaurant just opposite in the same alley (called The Great Elephant Dining Hall I think) and plenty more restaurants and cafes in the area. We didn't try the breakfast.
- Franz (9/5): Superb -
- Nicoletta (10/5): Exceptional - Delicious breakfast
Daily room cleaning
Washing machine
- Kevin (6/5): Pleasant -
- Thady (9/5): Superb -
- Nicoletta (9/5): Loved it! - Delicious and rich chinese breakfast, thanks cook! Washing machine very useful, not far from the metro station and near Wuhou temple, nice vibes, characterful area Water did not drain propperly on the toilet floor
- Jeremy (7/5): Great location. Friendly staff. - Near Jin Li street and lots of restaurants. The reception can assist with buying Sichuan Opera and Panda Base tickets. There is a laundry available. Staff are friendly though English is very limited. They were helpful in getting us taxis. We communicated through a translation app. Mosquitos. In one bedroom the window could not be completely closed so it was noisy. No lift. Corresponding through Booking.com messaging was not very responsive. The current phone number is incorrect because we were not able to call the hotel on it.
- Yin (7/5): Good -
- Kh (8/5): Basic Accommodation - Near to Wuhou temple and famous old street Rooms a bit rundown and no lift in building. Nearest MRT close to 800 metres away. Limited choice of eateries in neighbourhood
- Mercelam (8/5): Very good -
- Liky (8/5): pleasant staff, lots of food and shops within walking distance. - The staff are very pleasant and helpful. We have problem with our flight booking. They helped us to secure seats and settled our problem. A big Thanks to all the staff who had help!
- Nazanin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victor (7/5): Good - Perfect location Had to wait 5 minutes for warm water
- Gan (7/5): Good - Good location to nearest attractions point .nearby metro station only 15 min walk distance and many Tibetan culture exploring. recommended
- Lawless (7/5): Holly's is good and close to the busy bits
No one talks English but they did a little - The staff are good and friendly and helpful The cold
- Susanti (7/5): great location - great location, great food surrounding quite hard to find.
- Peter (7/5): Tranquil Home Away from Home - We will stay at this hotel again when we come back to Chengdu! It was almost everything we wanted, and exactly like the listing.
The rooms are clean and like the pictures, and daily housekeeping was exceptional. The front desk was very helpful, and the morning staff spoke good English. The bed was normal Chinese hard but all was as you could expect and hope for. 100% blackout curtains made sleep good also.
The hotel is in the Little Tibet area of town, lots of restaurants and stores, and only a few minutes walk to the Jinli walking street and the Wu Hou Shrine. SUPER quiet at night since it is on an alley, which we loved. Affordable souvenir and cheap luggage shops right across the street for taking extra stuff home, too!
The metro is an 11 minute walk for a New Yorker (a bit far), but it is close enough that you can use the metro instead of a taxi. The metro stop is the well-connected Gaoshengqiao station (5 and 3 metro lines), so it is very close to all the important things in Chengdu. This hotel's location is great overall.
For the price, we were very happy with this hotel. It was not a luxury hotel, but it also is not a ghetto hotel. Foreigners who are not overly picky will be happy here. The metro is a bit far (11 minutes when walking fast; Gaoshengqiao station). It was good enough, but a 5-minute walk to the metro would have been better.
We stayed here in early January, and the heater in our room was inconsistent. So sometimes it was a bit cold. But this wasn't a deal-breaker for us, and at least the shower has very warm water even in the early morning.
- Au (8/5): Another 2 more nights in Chengdu for 2nd time stay after returning from Tibet - I have no regret in choosing the same hotel for 2nd time stay after returning from Tibet.
Affordable with free simple Chinese breakfast.
Strategic location near Jinli Street and Metro within 10 min walking
Many restaurant nearby.
Polite and helpful staff that I could rely on because my document was delivered safely by the hotel before my arrival for check in.
Slipper, kettle, free drinking water, black tea sachet are provided. No lift service. Have to carry your own luggage up to 1st floor.
Toilet door was not able to be locked entirely.
No coffee sachet provided in the room as it is common in China hotels.
- Au (8/5): No complaint. Overall I was happy staying for my 1st night in Chengdu - Affordable with free simple Chinese breakfast.

- Michele (9/5): It is a well recommended place. - Good location, can get anything you want. Super friendly & helpful staffs. Quite & peaceful area. Air conditioning does not always work well but is ok!
- Atmshakhawat (8/5): Anyway good place for stay . - Staff support during my stay. Lack of restaurant facilities full time for whole day.
- Sai (9/5): In the Tibetan qiarter - The staff is very helpful‼️
The staff speaks good English‼️
The location is great for most of the things in Chengdu ‼️ Returning from nightlife in other districts late at night might be difficult to achieve since only by taxi possible after 11 pm.
- Manuel (5/5): Passable - Location, 24 h reception, price Had several flies/bugs/moskitos in the room, probably because the window was left open and the bathroom window does not close completely.
Several holes in the floor, which cannot really be cleaned, I guess.
They did not find my reservation, despite messaging me beforehand that they will keep a room for me. Anyway, they had a room for me, so it was ok.
- Yap (9/5): Overall still satisfied staying there, staff are friendly and delicious breakfast provided. Location convenience just so - Location very good it’s just opposite one of the hotspot, a lot of restaurant nearby easily find food. The dryer quite dirty without proper cleaning. Level 3 are for hang clothes is quite messy and without lighting. If go at night have to use own touch light.
- Zoltán (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liew (6/5): Old premises in a central location. - We stayed at this place on 5 August 2023. This place was chosen for it's central location and proximity to the metro. Amenities are basic while breakfast was adequate. What was disappointing was that the hostel was quite difficult to find even though it is within walking distance from the metro. There's no elevator which makes lugging our luggage up the stairs a chore for a sixty-something couple like us.
- Isabella (9/5): Between Tibet and modern China - The hostel is located in a very interesting alley surrounded by tibetan shops and it is right next to a temple you can go and visit as well. From there you can reach the city centre easily on foot or with the metro.
The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable with good WiFi. Since it is in a secondary alley it is also very quiet.
I think the lady at the reception can also speak a bit of English but we mainly talked in Chinese. I also had breakfast there and it was really good (chinese style breakfast) with mantou, rice, a few vegetables, soups, tea and eggs.
The staff also helped me book a place for the Sichuan Opera (do it well in advanced if you want good spots, in tourist season it is hard to find any seats at all) and I also booked a mahjong lesson with them and it was super fun, you basically play with the staff for at least 3 hours and get complimentary tea and fruit. The door of the room was a bit broken, it would still close but I would have to really slam it from the outside when leaving. Same for the shower door, that did not close at all. A minor problem but a bit annoying.
- Axweso (8/5): Very good -
- Liv (7/5): Great location! - The hotel is close to Jinli Road and has easy access to transport of all sorts. The location is really convenient and nice. The staff is super helpful and speaks English! :D The morning buffet sucks…….
- Sing (7/5): Good -
- Sharma (8/5): value for money -
- Thi (6/5): so so - so so breakfast
- Asger (10/5): Exceptional -
- Olivier (8/5): Very good - The staff is nice, speak English.
This hotel is very well located. The price is cheap and you get what you paid for.
They were doing renovation, when I was there.
- Sharma (9/5): Superb -
- Jerome (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrea (8/5): Get Stay at Convenient Location - Everything was smooth sailing, from booking to checking-in, to extending my stay, to checking-out. The location on the map seemed to be inaccurate causing drivers to drop me far away from the property. I had to walk late in the night alone to the destination.
