Guest Reviews
- Christine (8/5): We booked to attend the Dart festival so were out most of the day and evening - the bu - Peace and quiet for a good nights sleep The lock box is difficult to open
- Gillian (5/5): - Location along with the peace and quiet. Unfortunately the place had not been cleaned and it was very damp however, we contacted the owners and they quickly resolved the problem and we're very apologetic.
- Claire (9/5): Lovely comfortable chalet with great beds. Really good value for money. - Great value for money, comfortable and clean chalet
- Saud (8/5): Love the location. - Love the location, clean tidy cabin. We stayed at this cabin previously, it was better last time we visited, it feels like the love has been lost a bit maybe because it's off season.
I know it's self-catering, but a warning to visitors to bring toilet paper, salt, pepper, and sugar etc.
If you're staying in the winter, the cabin is cold, and heating is very expensive to run, so bring plenty of warm clothes and blankets.
- Sharron (8/5): -
- Stephen (7/5): Overall it was reasonable value - Useful location for access to Dartmouth and South Hams area The furniture (sofas) were a little worn and I have never rented anywhere before that required feeding an electric meter but as we were out most of the day the most wasn't too bad.
- Jane (10/5): - Lovely chalet. Very clean and tidy everything that you would need for a comfortable stay.
- sarah (9/5): - The chalet was cosy and warm. The location was fine for us as we had a car but not suitable for anyone who wanted to walk into Dartmouth as there are no pavements or verges on the fast road outside.
- Stan (8/5): -

- SANDRA (7/5): -
- Kerry (10/5): Nice comfortable stay - Had a really comfortable stay, chalet was clean and tidy and had everything you needed. Location was perfect for getting about every where we wanted and Dartmouth harbour was 7 mins away in the car. My only criticism and it’s not really of any concern is that the outside lacks curb appeal and gives you a wrong first impression as the inside is fine for what it is.
- Andrew (10/5): Great location, everything we needed and a very comfortable stay - We really enjoyed our stay with Dartmouth Chalet Holidays. We had everything we needed on arrival, and the location of the property was excellent. A Sainsbury's is a short drive away towards Dartmouth, with the town centre only a little further along. We were also within a short driving distance of one of our favourite attractions - Woodlands Leisure Park!
The site is very quiet and peaceful, with plenty of outdoor space for games which was a massive plus! Parking is convenient as well, with ample parking available within 2 minutes walk of the chalet. The chalet itself was very comfortable, with plenty of seating for both dining and relaxing, and the kitchen came equipped with all the cooking equipment and cutlery you should ever need.
The bedrooms were a great size and there were plenty of storage and lighting options. In addition, the bathroom was a good size and we were pleased to find a washing machine and dryer tucked away should we have needed it. The shower was easy to use and a convenient size.
The check-in process was very straightforward and we appreciated the notices and folder of information to refer to throughout our stay. We had no problems with using the electricity meter and were able to keep to a budget of £2-3 per day without any issue.
Overall we would thoroughly recommend this property and will certainly be considering it should we wish to stay in the area again. It would have been helpful to have an on-site shop but understand that this is not the property's responsibility and it didn't reflect badly on our stay.
- Richard (7/5): Nice place. - Peaceful. Nice location. Very easy access to Dartmouth. Only 1 nife. No pan lid for largest pan.
Care worn, could do with a refresh. Stone age coin operated electric meter.
But good value for money.
- Kathrin (8/5): - Sehr gute Lage. Dartmouth, Strände, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gut zu erreichen. Die Ferienanlage an sich ist etwas trostlos.
- Susie (7/5): Good place for what we wanted - Peace and quiet. Comfortable seating, plenty of utensils and pans etc Bed and pillows not very comfortable . Fridge not cold enough. Shower a bit small. Wouldn't want to be a large person using it.
- Neil (7/5): Good - Light and airy Settees need replacing especially in hot sticky weather
- Sandra (10/5): I Recommend this chalet - Good communication from the agent. Very clean and comfortable. All that we needed was there. Only drawback is no WiFi but 4 & 5g coverage was good 👍
- Marta (6/5): Lovely, comfortable chalet which needs a bit of attention. - We liked the chalet itself; got everything what you could possibly want for short holiday. Very good location, nice and quiet. Everything runs on electric so you do need £1.00 coins. We stayed 4 nights and I would say we spend around £20.00. There were few things which I personally didn’t like.
On the first day of our stay the owner of the chalet came unannounced. It’s surprised me because few days before arriving he sent me all the details about our stay. I was in town with kids and my husband stayed behind tired after long trip. For the rest of my stay I was thinking what would happen if we were all out that day.
Smell of dump… came up on second day of our stayed so it gives you thoughts of how clean it is. The shower hose needs an attention because it looked broken on the bottom.
Hot water runs out really quick, even when you follow the instructions of how to use the boiler.
It’s really nice place however I think chalet needs a bit of attention and maybe deep cleaning.
In few places you could tell someone didn’t clean surfaces properly.
- Annie (8/5): Very good - Comfortable, well equipped on a very quiet site. Good access to Dartmouth and surroundings . It might have been nice to find a spare toilet roll!
A little 'tighht' round the corner of the bed by the storage in the front bedroom.
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shelley (10/5): We want to go back - Comfy home from home
- Jennifer (10/5): Very relaxing stay. - Location was good and the chalet was clean and comfortable There was nothing to dislike
- Denise (10/5): Excellent chalet ,bed was super comfy everything lovely, thankyou.spotlessly clean -
- Ian (9/5): Superb - Very central location convenient for shops and beaches Shower filled up with water , didn’t flow away fast enough
- Bernadtte (10/5): We had a fabulous time … the chalet was perfect. - It was gorgeous and smelled so lovely and clean and fresh when we arrived. Not the property’s fault at all but the park and ride was hopeless and you couldn’t park in Dartmouth itself so as much as we loved this chalet we will stay in Dartmouth itself next year.
- Charlotte (10/5): Lovely summer stay - The hosts sent all the information we could need beforehand and were available had we of experienced any issues (which we didnt). The property is a good size, beds are comfortable and the shower is great. Managed to park easily everyday even in peak season. Easy to feed the meter and for us (as we were out all day, was less than £2 a day). No internet was actually a bonus as it meant the children didn't ask for their tablet's and spent more time playing games while waiting for us to shower etc in the morning. Kitchen is fully equipped. Property was clean- would recommend and stay again. Great price. Nothing all was great. (Lamp on the top bunk didn't work- likely to just need a bulb change and might be worth having some plastic cups in the kitchen for children).
- D (9/5): Excellent stay - Location clean comfy Coin meter for electric
- Scott (10/5): Absolutely delighted with our stay here, the chalet was clean and comfortable. - Had absolutely everything we needed, was quiet, clean, comfortable and like a home from home Was all really good
- Kerryrct (10/5): Exceptional - Property was spacious and very clean. Everything we needed was at the chalet. Information booklet on site with all relevant information. Lovely location, with green spaces and short car ride to local shops, beaches, park and ride.
- Debbie (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable bed! Spacious bathroom with a great shower. Good space for our family
- Vicky (10/5): Exceptional -
- Iain (10/5): Excellent - everything we could have hoped for. - One minor gripe - there isn't a mirror in the bathroom.
- Olga (10/5): Short family trip to explore south Devon - excellent location and quiet area - Excellent location, very quiet area, the accommodation has absolutely everything you need for your stay, detailed instructions booklet how all equipment works and hosts available to be contacted in case of any issues (though we didn’t have any as everything was great). No WiFi is a bit of a down side, but it’s manageable if you have a decent amount of internet on your phone. And topping up electric meter is the first time I came across through all the time we travel in the UK.
BUT all that was mentioned before you book, so no complains about it at all.
- Wayne (10/5): Great location, lovely site - Brilliant location, so quiet and only a cab drive away from the main town.
Now the accommodation, perfectly flowing, nice shape & style and beautifully decorated, bed was comfortable facilities just spot on. The only reservations were that we had to turn off the TV to operate the oven (as it tripped), but we were on holiday, so what? lol. Wasn't aware that electricity was on a meter, but in fairness, we weren't there to sit in the chalet, used less than £3 for 4 days.
- Amy (10/5): Brilliant chalet for exploring the area/relaxing - Great chalet, great location and great hosts. Chalet is in a nice and quiet area. It is a short drive to Dartmouth and Blackpool sands beach. I found our stay very relaxing and everything you could need was in the chalet. The chalet was spotlessly clean. The hosts sent us all the information we needed promptly and were also contactable if needed. There is lots to do in the area but equally the park is well kept and maintained if you fancy a day reading your book and sitting in the sun. Highly recommend.
- Mark (10/5): Devonly Days exceeded expectations. - Everything you could want was there. Exceptional in every way. Very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again. There was nothing I didn't like - apart from a spider in the bathroom 😀
- Pauline (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sheralea (8/5): Very good -
- Patricia (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (8/5): Very comfortable, owner contact beforehand to check it met our needs was excellent. I’d definitely recommend and would l - Great location, very comfortable, had everything we needed Smell of mould in living room
- Colin (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (7/5): Good -
- Robert (3/5): Poor -
- Jiri (10/5): Excellent - Excellent, very clean, nicely prepared, very good communication, host very helpful!
Strongly recommends
- Joules (10/5): Lovely comfortable chalet. - Lovely accommodation. Really nicely presented. Clean and with all necessary information and facilities for a comfortable quiet break. Not an ideal walk to Dartmouth owing to lack of footpaths for the first few hundred yards so not safely walkable, but still a good location.
- Graeme (8/5): Very good -
- Sheila (9/5): Superb -
- Parsons (9/5): Enjoyable comfortable stay, shame about the British weather ! -
- Prisk (8/5): Very good - Nice and peaceful No hot water
- Michael (8/5): Enjoyed stay enen though weather was terrible. - very low suite. would have liked a higher unit
- Dutnall (9/5): Another great stay here - Cleanliness

- Laura (10/5): - Really lovely chalet, clean and fresh, comfortable sofa and beds, great directions for getting to the correct chalet which was extra helpful to me! Everything we could need inside and plenty of space in the living area for eating, games and relaxing. Would absolutely return!
- Lisa (9/5): Superb -
- Dominika (10/5): Very comfortable stay - The property was spacious with everything you may need. We were very comfortable during our stay here. Lots of things to do and visit nearby too and close to shops and petrol station.
- Chris (8/5): No major complaints, All as expected, very clean and comfortable - Everything as expected, having stayed before.
WiFi would be very welcome,a!most everywhere these days WiFi is included in the cost.
Otherwise, very good and would book again
- Morton (10/5): - This chalet was all we could have wished for. It was well laid out throughout. It was easily accessible with good parking. No Wi-Fi meant no phones going off, which was an absolute pleasure. We would recommend this to anyone.
- Valerie (10/5): The chalet was very clean and comfortable white all you could need for a lovely stay. -
- Paula (9/5): Marvellous holiday! - The chalet was very comfortable and clean, and smelt clean too! The hosts were very kind and prompt in their communications. The bed was extremely comfy. The electric meter was not an issue, we just took enough £1 coins and only spent £13 for the whole week. Admittedly we didn't need to have any heating as it was warm enough (last week in September). Wifi would've been a bonus but other than that all was brilliant. My mum would've liked a grab rail in the shower but that's not really a criticism just an observation from her point of view.
- Chester (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ben (9/5): Fantastic family chalet - Superb chalet with all we needed for a comfortable base whilst we explored the area. Great location, a short drive from lovely beaches and Dartmouth town centre. Nothing
- Anonymous (10/5): loved it there - loved it needs a little updating
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice owner of property, clean and spacious. Would stay again. The only thing was about stripping bed before we left, thought was a bit much. But did it anyway.
- Anonymous (10/5): Lovely family holiday great stay - Clean everything needed was there No Wi-Fi very unhappy children as no devices
- Andrea (5/5): Adequate for the price - Great location, nice quiet site. The chalet was a good size for our needs. There was a washer & and dryer, which we weren't expecting. Couldn't hear noise from neighbouring chalets despite being in the middle of a row. Beds comfy, linen clean. All immediate essentials catered for. The chalet needs a good deep clean. There is black spot mold on the walls and net curtains. The whole chalet smelt fusty. The carpets are worn & fraying. The sofa is old & grubby looking. The woodwork in the bathroom is desperately in need of painting & is grubby. The place needs some TLC.
- Sharon (7/5): Good stay - Property was very clean if not a little tired, door lock needs looking at as was hard to lock at times Difficulty in locking up door lock needs attention
- Lionel (8/5): Very good - Nice chalet good location Nothing
- Valerie (9/5): A lovely holiday in a beautiful place. Thank you. - Clean and comfortable. Good location. Excellent directions and advice from the owner. It was odd to have a coin operated electric meter but we got to like it. It wasn’t expensive and it was easy to work out.
- Oliver (7/5): Good -
- Chris (8/5): Short Break - Very clean and well presented chalet with all the facilities we needed. Great value for money overall and would revisit. Location was good although no footpaths into Dartmouth and the bus was a bit irregular
- Paul (9/5): enjoyed it - the facilities were good sadly the bed was uncomfortable and the shower is way to small
- Iwona (8/5): very pleasent stay, very Close to the shops and the town. - very clean, comfortable. there was No area for kids to play, No barbecue, not much privacy, chalets are next to each other with No views.
- Michala (8/5): We had a great time - thank you ! - An excellent chalet - perfect for our needs. Great location for visiting Dartmouth and surrounding area. n/a
- Brian (9/5): Good chalet in a good tourism location - Location was good for local tourism. Very comfortable. Easy to find. Perfectly acceptable for a short stay. Clean linen and towels. Very clean and well kept. Good car parking. Local amenities are local with park and ride, fuel station and supermarkets a very short distance away. Overall site was in need of a smarten up and looked a bit tired, but thats no reflection on the chalet. Don't forget your pound coins for the electric meter.
- Lukasz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denise (10/5): A LOVELY STAY EASY TO DRIVE AND ALL PLACES AROUND - CLEAN LOVELY COSY WARM WITH ALL AMENITIES COFFEE AND TEA IN THE ROOM
VERY COMFY BED
LOVELY SHOWER ROOM
THE OWNERS REALLY LOVELY LIKED EVERYTHING
- Aristotle15 (9/5): Superb - Comfortable and clean with everything you could want for a short break The location is very quiet and remote - but this is not a negative. Dartmouth is less than ten minutes drive and the park itself is tranquil
- William (4/5): Disappointing - Cleanness, location Feeding the meter.
We stayed when it was bitterly cold and had to constantly feed the meter to stay warm
- Stephen (2/5): - The property has a coin-operated power meter, which is archaic as it sounds! Who uses coins in 2023??
We were informed a few days before the booking that we needed to bring coins for the power, and were advised we'd need £5 - £8 per day in winter.
So on the day we headed to the Chalet, we spent a lot of effort trying to obtain enough coins for our stay, and as international travellers, this wasn't as easy as it sounds! We eventually obtained £18, and figured that'd get us 2-3 days, and we'd get more once we were there..
One hour after getting into the place and turning on the headers to warm it up, we'd already burned £3. We loaded it up with our remaining coins (£15), had dinner, went to bed, and only left 2 heaters running overnight - to stop ourselves freezing! In the morning there was barely £1 left on the meter when we go up... There were no extra blankets, so had we not put extra coins in the machine, we'd have had an incredibly cold night!
In 12 hours, we'd spent £18! So much for the £8 we were supposed to need...
The experience was so uncomfortable, we found new accommodation and left that morning. 1 day into our 4 day stay.
To ne clear, it's not about the raw money cost - we booked a more expensive apartment to stay at instead. It was the experience of having to find coins, put them into the meter, and keep an eye on it. All while the meter was literally clicking loudly!
Just charge an extra $50 per night and remove the meter!!
- Emma (8/5): A lovely chalet for our mini-break :) - The chalet was a little bigger than I expected. Lovely and perfectly comfortable for a family of 4. Plenty warm enough with just the living room heater on in December (9ish degrees outside)
Beds were super comfy. We used probably £10/11 per day in the electricity meter - a little more than quoted but it wasnt a problem.
- Saud (8/5): Very good - Nice clean well presented chalet. It was annoying having to find coins each day to feed into the electricity meter, it would be easier to add £50 to the cost of the chalet or find an easier alternative to cash.
- John (9/5): Very enjoyable few days. - Good location just a few minutes from the Park and Ride to Dartmouth as parking in the town is very difficult. No waiting as buses run very frequently.Very comfortable chalet with plenty of room, Car parking 50 yards away . We were warned to take pound coins for the pay electric meter. My only gripe is these don,t last long even only using convector heater, kettle and TV. No shop in Dartmouth including Banks or Post Office want to let you have coins and so you are buying items just to get change.Be warned! Otherwise very good all round.
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (7/5): You get what pay for. If you want somewhere basic at a budget price then this chalet is fine. - It was very quiet. Value for money. The crockery wasn't clean. We had to give everything a good wash before we used it. Washing up bowl covered in grease. No mattress cover on the double bed. Duvet too hot.
- Richard (7/5): Good -
- Allison (2/5): We will never stay in a holiday chalet again. Families would enjoy the value and location and in Dartmouth there isn’t a - nicely decorated, clean and quiet.kitchen was well stocked for cooking. there is a damp Mold odour that caused all of us to cough when we were in the property. it had some new decor but these units are old. feeding the meter is old fashioned and inconvenient. no WiFi, minimal signal on phone. parking is a long walk from unit. other residents block the paths with laundry. many residents smoke around the property.
- Robert (10/5): Excellent and will definitely recommend / book again! -
- Keith (8/5): good base to explore the area - layout was good. had most amenities
- Erika (8/5): Very good - Very clean, spacious and full of stuff (kitchen items, washing machine, dryer, TV, irons, vacuum, etc...), Comfy sofa, big table., Plenty of lamps. Beds
- Samantha (10/5): Excellent property with all home comforts provided. Property was clean, beds were comfortable. Would definitely book aga - Property was clean, tidy and homely.
- Carole (10/5): will definitely be returning. - excellent presentation. very clean. lovely hosts.
definitely recommend. N/A
- Rachel (8/5): Spacious chalet, with peaceful surroundings, needed the refresh - The location was what I expected No WiFi, winter duvets in the summer, to warm, grill didn't work in cooker
- Jamie (6/5): Quiet and adequate could do with some updates/repairs - Reasonable space for a family of four and a quiet site. Nice to have tea and coffee on arrival and a cold fridge. Shower had very slow drainage, vacuum had no suction, felt like it could have done with a few pound to tidy up in various areas however nothing drastic.
- Kerry (9/5): It was a lovely few days and we'll worth the money. - It was in a great location and nice and quiet. The mattress on the bottom bunk was uncomfortable due to feeling the springs.
- Jim (8/5): Very good - nice clean chalet, great parking, situated in a lovely area with great views, 5 minute drive to Dartmouth, we loved it we liked it
- Anonymous (10/5): great location, great accommodation, all round great short stay, wished it could of been longer. - extremely clean and tidy, didn’t take us long to make it just like home !! absolutely nothing
- Ernesta (10/5): A lovely place to stay. - Very tidy and cosy place, would choose it again anytime. Nothing.
- Sharon (10/5): relaxed time away with my boys in comfortable accommodation i - it was clean and comfortable with everything we needed nothing
- Deborah (8/5): nice quiet site, easy to get into Dartmouth and spotlessly clean and comfortable chalet - spotlessly clean
very comfy beds
nice and quiet on site nothing except slippy floor in bathroom so had to be careful with the kids. such a minor thing and overall everything was great
