- Thanh Nha (8/5): very nice traditional house in the center of the city - The place is very well placed just next to the main street. The owner is super nice, he welcomed us with plans and recommendations to go around the city. The room very small and the toilet is outside so it's very inconvenient in the winter given that during our stay, it was -10° outside. But beside that everything was perfect. it was a nice experience to have.

Sehr gute Lage, sehr netter Gastgeber.
- Yaiza (7/5): - Very good location and traditional house We had a group of very noisy neighbours who came back after 2am talking out loud

- Kseniia (9/5): - Our host was the nicest, rand gave us great advice about the area
- Kristin (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (10/5): Brilliant place to stay in a really interesting location with lots to do - Brilliant central location. Very tidy and lots of space. The host was amazing - so helpful with local information. Lots and lots of restaurants and shops. Lots to see. Highly recommend this apartment and the whole area Nothing !
- Bayram (8/5): Great Location - location was great, thd kitchen was well equipped, the host even brought a toaster whdn I asked the futon was not comfortable
- Catherine (8/5): Great location -
- Ruto (5/5): Well located accommodation well hosted - Well located traditional accommodation in a very interesting cultural area. The staff is very enthusiastic and giving much information about the area. Cleanliness left much to be desired.
- Cory (8/5): Very good -
- Keara (5/5): Poor quality hanok experience and - The accommodation was just off the very busy main street but was quiet at night. The accommodation was scruffy especially the entry and courtyard. The courtyard was used for rubbish collection and drying towels. No effort was made to make it presentable.
We were given an internal room which opened to the shared kitchen. The only window was a tiny window in the toilet. We complained and got moved to another room after two days.
There were no plates, glasses etc provided in the kitchen.
This was a very poor value and low quality hanok experience.
- Jaime (9/5): Superb - The place was very conveniently located with many shops, restaurants around and easy access to transportation
The host was kind to explain what could be worth visiting as well as a daily schedule to do so. Finally he even sent me a parcel containing the jacket that I forgot! So kind!
- Victoria (4/5): Disappointing - A good location, near the park where the burial mounds are, and just back of the tourist street. There was no breakfast. When I arrived, the proprietor sat me and another woman who arrived at the same time down and told us, with maps, what to see in Gyeong-ju. His advice in some instances was good, but he did not ask if we wanted it. A bit of the Ancient Mariner. The hanok pads in the rooms were thin; my hip bones felt the floor through the night. However, I am an older person, so that may have been the problem.
- Tayla (8/5): Great hanok stay in excellent location - Excellent location right off the Main Street, room was clean and comfortable for a hanok stay with thick mattress. Host was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area, had a nice time Bathroom was a little squashy but didn’t affect our overall enjoyment
- Eva (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jasmin (8/5): Very good - Everything was fine Loud fridge during the nigt
- Chung (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (9/5): Great room and location. Excellent value for money. - Traditional hanok house in an alley off the most traditional street in Gyeongju. Great location for tourist attractions, restaurants etc. Nice room, traditional with futons plus all usual amenities. Underfloor heating and AC. Common area with microwave and sink. Helpful owner. Washing machine for laundry. Outside areas need attention, detracts from the other good features.
- Riia (8/5): Very good - Location of the accommodation is really good, as it is along the main street of the "old town" of Gyeongju. Archaeological sites and the traditional hanok village are very close by, as are many restaurants and cafes. The modern city centre is further away but also at a walkable distance. The host is very helful and friendly. Thinking back, I wanted to stay in a traditional hanok. This place offers an experience towards that, but is lacking a garden, and many of the more traditional looks, even though the house itself is traditional i its architecture. Thus, next time I would be willing to pay more for a more luxurious hanok experience.
- Wurm (9/5): Nice stay in a nice city - Host’s reception. Nothing- everything was fine.
- João (9/5): Superb -
- Merfy (4/5): not recommending. location is hard to find. The beds are uncomfortable. toilet is outside. - in the middle of the city very small room, uncomfortable beds, toilet outside
- Işınsu (9/5): Perfectly located, cozy place to stay. The host was very friendly and helpful. - Location was perfect The bathroom is located outside the room.
- Pietro (8/5): (Almost) perfect stay at Gyeong-ju! - The house is genuinely traditional. The owner was kind, well organized and helped us plan an ideal three days itinerary (detailed map included!). The location is perfect for exploration of the area but also quiet enough to be silent at night. The bathroom was clearly planned for someone under 170 cm. There is a mini fridge in the room that is LOUD (for some reason that was not put in the common kitchen - we had to disconnect it at night) and there is nowhere to put clothes. It would take so little to make it perfect..
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional - Location was great and host was very helpful
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Darragh (9/5): Superb - Excellent location. William, the proprietor, is a true gentleman. He gave me fantastic tips for exploring Gyeongju and was extremely friendly. A perfect base for exploring Gyeongju.
- Chin-huat (10/5): Hwangridangil Adamjeong can give you a good start to explore the 992-years ancient capital of Shila - Mr Lee - the owner - was very enthusiastic in suggesting itineraries and recommending restaurants. That saved my own efforts to find information. I truly appreciate that. This experience in fact motivated me to look for in the next city for accommodations with enthusiastic owners. In Daegu, it was Bomgoro Guest House.
- Michelle (7/5): Good place to stay to experience local style accomodation. - Location right in the middle of Hwangridangil and places of interested are reachable by foot and bus. Host provided good recommendation and directions were clear easy to follow. Accomodation is 100yrs old hence understandable that facility will not be modern. Expectation for room once lowered will be good experience..
- Dayoung (10/5): If you find a clean, cozy and well-located Hanok at low costs, I recommend this guesthouse! - I really enjoyed staying at the traditional Hanok. The room was clean and tidy. There was a private bathroom in the room. The futons were so comfy. The location of the guesthouse is exceptional!! It was really easy to find it and it was located in a quiet alley at the center of Hwanglidan road. There are so many nice restaurants and cafes near the guesthouse. There is a big convenience store across the guesthouse! In addition, the famous tourist sites are within walking distance. Everything was perfect!!
- Crystal (10/5): Excellent host allowed us to make the most of our stay in comfort. - When we arrived the host gave us a detailed map and explanation of must see places that evening and the next day, given the time we had in Gyeongju. It was so helpful and allowed us to make the most of our time there. The place is in such a great location in walking distance to the main attractions. The property was clean and comfortable. It felt like home! They let us store our bags the next day while we went exploring which was very much appreciated! Would highly recommend.
- Mun (7/5): Good - It's a different experience to stay within a traditional building. Room and futon was comfortable to sleep in.
Location is right in the middle of the cafe street. Our private bathroom/toilet was located outside the room so it's a little troublesome to go to the toilet and we have to bring keys each time. Very limited space in the toilet, there's no dedicated shower space and the shower has a shared valve with the basin tap.
The owner is based in another guesthouse after checking us in and not around all the time. Although he is available through texts if there's any issues.
- José (10/5): Exceptional - It’s a typical Hanok, it’s gorgeous and functional. It’s really well located in the city as well. When we arrived, late at night, Adamjeong welcomed us with a custom made map where he pointed out all the buses stops for attractions outside the city and the locations of the attractions inside the city. He was so welcoming that I 100% recommend this stay if you are considering it.
- Kim (1/5): Claustrophobic, very uncomfortable - The location. Sits in the middle of downtown area. The place was extremely small and claustrophobic. The futons/cushions were very low quality as well. Our bodies just sank into them, and it was quite uncomfortable. There's not much soundproofing either. Oh, and the space for your legs on the toilet seat is almost non-existent from one side so you almost have to sit perpendicular on seat. There's a reason why there weren't any photos of the inside
- Iancdgm (9/5): Excellent stay and close to everything you would need. - It was super duper close to all the things you want to visit in the area. It's walking distance from the bus station and it's walking distance from everything you'd want to visit. It's right on the tourist spot area and just a short walk from a convencience store. You can buy food there and take it back to the room. There's a kitchen where you can eat and heat food. There's a microwave and everything. Maybe a water dispencer in the kitchen area? But that's nitpicking. The owner was great and room was clean. Everything you would really need.
- Richard (9/5): Superb - Host William was helpful with suggested itinerary to get the most out of our 2 days in Gyeongju. House easy to find, central to tourist downtown area, but still quiet. Lived up to expectations of staying in hanok style accommodation No fault, but design of house means bathroom stays fairly damp and towels do not dry after use. Shared kitchen facilities available but no utensils for cutting fruit, knives and plates would be helpful.
- Martin (9/5): Superb - Small traditional hotel in very center of Gyeongju. Huge positive is that the hotel isn't on the main street so it's quiet during the night. Clean and tidy with all that we needed for a comfortable stay. Communication with owners was great
- Felipe (10/5): Great stay - awesome host and perfect location! - Great stay - awesome host and perfect location!
- Bao (10/5): Exceptional - The lodging is right by the main busy tourist street where all the food and cafes are. It's also within walking distance to many of the historical attractions. The host was super nice and even showed me a map and gave me some suggestions for my days there. I was very touched he did that. Thank you for a good stay! For my room, the bathroom was outside the room. I think if it was spring or fall, I wouldn't mind as much, but because it's summer, it was just too hot and inconvenient.
- Wonderful (10/5): Exceptional - The host was excellent! Super friendly and helpful. He gave us a map and walked us through the best way to visit all the nearby attractions.
The location is excellent as well, situated in the middle of the old street/shopping district. There's lots to eat and do nearby.
The room itself was a little small, but very comfortable and clean. It was definitely a worthwhile hanok experience.
- Tien (9/5): Good location. - The location was the best. There was no sign of the property which took us 2 backs and forth to figure out the property.
- Noreen (8/5): Simple but pleasant accommodation in a great location, with a friendly owner - The owner was unusually helpful and kind. He explained all the sites, providing his own little map. He offered me coffee in his café down the street. The room was quiet, even though this location is in the middle of the most frequented part of town, on a little side street. The bed was a comfortable mattress on the floor. If you don't mind living and sleeping on the floor, this place is fine - perfect for its location in an ancient city loaded with hanoks. The photos in the description are somewhat misleading. They are of the courtyard, which is pleasant and simple. The room is much more basic and simple than I had expected. But it has everything I needed, and it is pretty good value for the money.
If you come by taxi, as I did, ask for Hwangridan-gil and not Poseok-ro. Not even the locals have any idea where Poseok-ro is.
- Alicja (2/5): Not worth paying for the service provided - the main advantage of this place is its placement in the heart of Gyeongju. The Owner is sympatetic, gives you clues on the must see places. It is placed in an old traditional and beautiful house, but has no feeling of the old house. The feeling is of the low cost HOSTEL, not even a hotel. The worst thing is that you sleep under well used sleeping bag WITHOUT BED SHEETS or ANY LINEN. Same with pillow. It is poliester pillow without any cover that would secure your higiene, I slept using my shirt to wscape the „plastic” feeling. The sleeping bag & pillow are not washed every time guest leave the place. So you feel like you would sleep in somebodys’ else bed (how many people slept in it before me?), which is VERY uncomfortable. The old, traditional and beautiful house is in contrast with very cheap, plastic, modern interior finish. The second worst thing is the courtyard. It is used as a working space for the owner and cleaning staff. There are buckets standing around, laundry hangers, you feel like you would pay for staying in some utility room. And the price of this place is far from being modest. For me what Booking pictures promis is far far from what you see there.
- Diana (9/5): Superb - The host was super nice and explained to me a lot about the city and gave a perfect itinerary for my 2-days stay. It was a typical hanok house with bedroom, bathroom and kitchen, I loved it. Location was very central to explore Gyeonju. Everything was nice
- Adinda (9/5): great location, warm and friendly host, clean and comfortable - Owner was super friendly, warm and kind. He gave us a good overview of all activities in and around the city.
Location is perfect and central.
Room and house is exactly as how it is advertised. No surprises, except for the fact that we got new towels everyday :)
Additionally, we were able to drop our bags two days prior our stay. I think the house can be even better if the yard/roof would have some nice equipment so guests can sit/read a book or whatever. But the kitchen is big enough too.
- Gregory (7/5): Good - Location
building itself Outside (courtyard, terrace) are not really equipped and clean.
No kitchen facilities in the shared kitchen
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Stephanie (8/5): good and clean - The owner was really friendly and accommodating. He helped us with our further itinerary by giving us a better route. He further explained in detail where the places were with a map. We could also leave our luggages after we’ve checked out and explore more.
- Denis (9/5): Superb - The owner made this place special with so much friendly advice and helpfulness!
- Siew (1/5): we reach the property but was deserted & dirty. no one have stay there at all. whilst I was trying to figure out I r - nothing we did not stay at the property
- Vladislav (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb -
- Raphael (10/5): Exceptional - The house owner is particularly friendly
- Anonymous (9/5): really enjoyable trip - perfect location and very nice host
- Lea-marie (8/5): Very good - It was spacious enough for two people and the floor heating kept us warm at night. Even tough it was near the main street, it wasn't noisy at all! The host wasn't there for the check-in and doesn't speak english. It was a bit difficult to enter and we were lucky to meet two koreans who also didn't know what to do and called the host. They also helped us check-in and translate the instructions only given via phone call...
- Selena (7/5): Very central location, bit noisy on weekends, very simple accommodation but has all you need. Sleep on the floor. - very central, love the floor heating it is basic accommodation, no frills
- Susannah (9/5): The host is so friendly and helpful and the room was cosy and comfortable. - the location is brilliant- in the middle of the bustling cafe streets and shops.
It was my first time to sleep on a floor mattress and it was really comfortable.
Everything was clean and well organised.
- Evelyn (9/5): Superb -
- Carine (8/5): Overall very nice experience, would go again. - Location was near the main city and Hwangridan-gil, which was very convenient. Also a walking distance from the Hwangnam-dong Royal Tombs, Gyochon Hanok Village and the famous Cheomseongdae Observatory. Accessible distance to Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto, Gyeongju National Museum and other attractions, and more importantly the Singyeongju KTX station. Though it was slighty hard to find, the owner gave great instructions and even called to give us directions which was nice. When we reached, the owner gave us really useful information on the attractions in Gyeongju and helped us plan our trip.
