Guest Reviews
- THEKLA (2/5): - When we arrived at the Point Studio Village, the key was supposed to be at the main entrance gate of the village because there is no reception in this property. No one was there to show us where was our room, no one answered our phone calls and no one gave us the key. So late at night, after 33 hours flights and being exhausted we had to look for a shelter..Hopefully, our friends reacted and found a room for us to another property. Eventually, we had to cancel the Expedia Booking and request for a refund that finally we received in the following days.
- Eric (4/5): Disappointed in negril. - Stay started badly. This place has individually owned units. I was not given the room number and had to wait at security for an hour. Then I was sent to the wrong unit by the unit owners maid. It was a nice one. After shopping to stock up and unpacking hotels.com sent me the unit number I was supposed to have. The next day the maid showed up to advise that I had to move. The new unit was totally across the complex, missing a remote for the a/c, have no toiletries, did not have functioning internet, had limited cable (no espn for instance), and, most disappointing, had only a quarter or less role of toilet paper with no back up roll. I had already been shopping so toilet paper was gonna costs $10 for the ride to get it. Cooking utensils would be thrown out in my house. Beach was nice and the management staff (they manage the common areas and not the units) was great. Location is a bit away from town but nice to an avant garde resort. Grounds were fine, but not luxurious. Would stay again in another unit. But the units are all over the board. You could get a nice one, my first one. Or you could get crap, my second one. I’d try somewhere else versus a crap shoot.
- Ike (4/5): - Dislikes:-This property is largely run down and old. The entire place could use a lot of touch up and upgrades. The one-bedroom condo I was assigned (152) needs a WHOLE LOT of upgrades to be done. It appears to still have the original fixtures (bathroom, kitchenette, appliances except for a new additional refrigerator in the room, the beds and beddings, the walls, ETC). The mattresses on the two double beds (although my reservation was for a SINGLE KING-SIZE bed) had one single cover sheet and small (possibly 3' x 5') blankets, and they all had stains on them. I don't even want to go into the many small necessary items that were not available. But the absolutely worse thing that happened to me - on Day 2 of my 3 day stay - was they embarrassment of getting a phone call from a guy that claimed that he was the property manager of the unit, asking me who and when I made my reservation for the unit. I politely told him that I made the reservation online. He asked again, with whom? I responded that I did online with Expedia. Then he asked again, "who did you speak to to reserve the room" because neither he nor the owner of the condo listed this unit on Expedia. At that point, I almost lost it but I patiently & calmly told him to call me back or come by the condo in a couple of hours. He didn't
Likes:- The unit that was assigned to me was generally clean (3 of 5) - thanks to the hardworking housekeeping lady. She did her best. The air-condition worked all the while I was there.
