• 514niy (10/5): Your first option in Beijing - I had such a great stay at Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing, Beijing. I’ve stayed at quite a few luxury hotels in Beijing, but this one really stands out. The hotel feels elegant without trying too hard — very calm, modern, and comfortable. After spending the whole day out in the city, coming back to the hotel honestly felt like a reset. What made the experience even better was the service. Stena was amazing throughout my stay — always warm, professional, and genuinely thoughtful. She remembered little details and made everything feel very natural instead of overly formal. Allen was also incredibly helpful with restaurant recommendations and arrangements, which made my trip so much easier. You can really tell the team cares about guests instead of just following a standard routine. I also loved the rooftop atmosphere at night and how peaceful the rooms felt. Everything about the stay just felt easy and relaxing. It’s the kind of hotel that makes you want to come back before you’ve even checked out. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Beijing.

Marvin Lin with his great English and attitude was very useful and supported our unique experience in Beijing. Everything is perfect. Nothing to dislike. Amazing.

We also visited the Hutong Mandarin just for a drink, very impressive (although my wife would have not liked the remote room location since you have to go out of the hotel, walk in the small dark Hutong lanes to access your courtyard; feels a little unsafe from her point of view) Last point; I’m always surprised to get no reward for booking without intermediary. Since I never use booking.com or travel agents, the hotels have a clear financial upside with me compared to other guests; why don’t they reward it? I never understood this.

The hotel is located in the middle of a very upmarket shopping area, close to the forbidden city and a short taxi ride away from other sights. We had a very smooth and welcoming check in; our rooms were ready on arrival at 9 AM in the morning, which was beyond expectations. Within minutes we were up in our room. The room iswell decorated and the bathroom is kingsize with a separate toilet (toto). Wonderful service throughout from the very nice gentleman at check in, the lovey lady every morning at breakfast (excellent breakfast) to the warm and friendly check out with Stena (thank you). I would stay here again.

The Spa exprience was great. Our concierge Osgood helped us plan our days. We received good services from all the front desk staff especially Amiyon, Gemini, Marvin, and Nana. We had reserved a car and guide to take us around to the Great Wall and the Hutong Art districts and Lieulichang Art districts. Our guide Emett was really good and knowledgeable. We will definitely stay at Mandarin Oriental again.

• K810JLricks (10/5): Everything the Mandarin Oriental stands for - Our stay at Mandarin Oriental Beijing, Wangfujing was exceptional from the very first moment we walked in. The level of care and attention to detail was evident immediately and consistent throughout the stay. What really stood out is that the service never felt transactional. The team was warm, thoughtful, and genuinely focused on helping — including with things that were completely outside their control. They supported us through a lost luggage situation, coordinated with travel teams, and even reached out proactively to the hotel we were transferring to. All of it was handled calmly and with real consideration. Several people made a lasting impression: the hotel manager, the front desk and duty managers, Alex, Nacho from food and beverage, and Sabrina in the spa. Each of them took personal interest in making sure my family and I were comfortable and had everything we needed. The attention to detail in the room was also greatly appreciated. Overall, a stay that felt personal, thoughtful, and genuinely five-star.

Its unbeatable location in the heart of Wangfujing is a huge plus—just a short stroll to historic sites like the Forbidden City and bustling shopping streets, making both sightseeing and daily trips incredibly convenient. The room was spacious, elegantly decorated with subtle Chinese elements, and spotlessly clean, featuring a comfortable king-size bed and floor-to-ceiling windows that offered a charming view of the city. Every staff member, Cassie, Rosie and others from the front desk to the concierge, was professional, attentive and warm, going out of their way to fulfill my requests promptly. The breakfast buffet was a delight, with a wide range of international and local delicacies, all fresh and beautifully presented. Without a doubt, this is my go-to luxury hotel in Beijing, and I can't wait to come back.

It was our first time in Beijing and we couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome or more thoughtful hospitality than this. We were greeted by Marvin from Guest Relations, who took the time to explain the hotel’s facilities in detail and checked in on us daily. His genuine care made us feel like we had family looking out for us during our trip. Mr. Peter, the Assistant Front Office Manager was equally wonderful. He arranged a beautiful room with thoughtful amenities and went above and beyond to help us plan our itinerary—from the Great Wall to Lama Temple and the best shopping spots in town. The hotel really really speaks of luxury. The team was incredible and they made our experience unforgettable- and so we left with full hearts. Highly recommended for anyone seeking true five-star service in Beijing!

Tucked in the heart of Qianmen, the hotel puts you steps away from iconic sites like Tiananmen Square and Wangfujing Street, while offering a peaceful retreat from the city’s buzz. The siheyuan (courtyard house) itself is a work of art. With gray-tiled roofs, wooden lattice windows, and a central courtyard adorned with potted plants and stone carvings, it feels like stepping back in time to old Beijing. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and equipped with a comfortable bed, fast Wi-Fi, and a well-appointed bathroom. The staff were warm, attentive, and incredibly helpful: they gave great recommendations for local eateries (try the nearby jianbing and noodles!), helped arrange transportation, and even shared interesting stories about the courtyard’s history.

Chief Concierge Osgood greeted me with gracious luggage assistance and porterage right after I got off from my taxi, setting the tone for what would be an unforgettable stay. Receptionist Amiel welcomed me with a radiant smile and a seamless check-in experience. Her warmth was genuine and instantly made me feel at home. Guest Relations Marvin escorted me to my room and provided a thorough hotel orientation. As I entered, I was greeted by a beautifully prepared space with thoughtful amenities and a personalized letter from the management—a gesture that immediately made me feel valued. Marvin’s hospitality didn’t end there—each day, he checked in to see where I’d been and where I was headed next, adding a personal touch that made me feel truly cared for. On my departure, Marvin, Cassie, and the entire Guest Relations team surprised me with a beautifully packaged scented candle—a thoughtful gift that perfectly captured the elegance and warmth of the hotel. During our stay, went to the MOBar and was greeted by Quentin, the Bar Manager. It was on a friday so the bar was packed. Quentin made sure that we were able to get a table the soonest and were seated comfortably. His product knowledge of the drinks were on point, having been able to immediately grasped our palletes when it comes to drinks. I also had the chance to meet Andy from the Cakeshop who was full of energy and radiance. His service was excellent, professional, and gentle- with a kind demeanor. The housekeeping team deserves special mention for their meticulous attention to detail. My room was consistently pristine, and thoughtful extras like wire velcro ties and eyeglass wipes were quietly placed, anticipating needs I hadn’t even voiced. The operating team responsible for the HelloMO also is to be recognized for their kind and swift responses whenever I needed something. Always ready to assist for any inquiries. On my checkout day, I felt slightly under the weather—likely due to the change in climate—and asked about a nearby pharmacy for some basic flu meds. What followed was beyond expectation: This is where the front office showed their excellent team work. Concierge Osgood promptly provided helpful information of the nearby pharmacy. Then the Assistant Front Office Manager Peter, having heard of my condition, showed deep empathy and arranged for medicine to be prepared. I was genuinely moved by this gesture and would never have expected such care. Later on Guest Relations Manager Rosie personally delivered the medicine to my room, accompanied by a comforting ginger lemon tea. She checked in on my wellbeing with such sincerity that it felt like a visit from a friend. So kind and sweet. Mr. Alex, the duty manager, informed to have offered a late checkout recognizing that I needed a bit more rest before my flight back to Hong Kong. Despite the hotel’s busy schedule, this gesture of kindness was the epitome of going the extra mile. The flow of communication and the level of attentiveness from the entire team were exceptional. Every department seemed to be in perfect sync, anticipating my needs and responding with genuine care. It was clear that behind the scenes, there was a culture of excellence and coordination that made every interaction feel effortless and personal Every interaction—from arrival to departure—was infused with care, compassion, and a level of service that defines true luxury. Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing isn’t just a hotel; it’s a sanctuary where hospitality becomes an art form.

But once again in classical MO fashion, the people and the heartfelt attitude is what makes all the magic of the stay. The whole team from all the departments exceed in quality of service with ease and genuine hospitality. Among the whole team a special appreciation goes to Marvin and Sandy who just make you feel special. Truly a magical place with amazing people.

The hotel location is excellent, the concierge desk very efficient. We had the best Chinese Meridian massage at the spa and a delicious Peking duck at cafe Zi.

Fantastic two day stay with absolutely warming staff. Breakfast was delightful and in room dining was well presented and quick. Also had a set menu for steak and lobster at the Mandarin Grill. Staff Led by Mengmeng Sun along with Mandy, Cici and Rora at the Mandarin Grill was above and beyond from the first moment. They are welcoming and made the final moments of the stay a lasting memory. Reservation and front desk team was patient and welcoming even with my sometimes quite far reaching requests. It's my second time here and would definately come back in a heartbeat.

Room is beautifully decorated, clean and spacious. Convenient location for shopping, dining, sightseeing and connected to WF Central Mall. Food and beverage is great and the bar overlooks the forbidden city, pleasant venue to enjoy the sunset at the MO Bar. My family specially appreciate how all the staff are very communicative and accomodating. Will definitely return for our next trip in beijing.

From the pick up from the airport in a Rolls-Royce, through the spacious room with the views of the Forbidden City and up to numerous requests from the concierge, the team of manager Marvin has been excellent. In addition, it’s quite a small hotel that has the vibe of a boutique hotel but with the highest levels of service. We really were made to feel very welcomed and taken care of. From jet bridge arrival to in-room check-in and the front desk proactively securing our room during a typhoon, every detail was seamless. Our guide lovingly pushed the wheelchair, and the staff at Cafe Zi catered thoughtfully to dietary needs.

• glY4730RS (2/5): Still Waiting for Deposit Refund – No Response from Hotel - My husband and I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing from May 25th to 27th, 2025. While the hotel facilities were as expected for a luxury hotel, our experience has been deeply disappointing due to their handling of our 6,000 Yuan deposit refund. At check-out, we were told the deposit would be released within 72 hours. It is now over three weeks later, and we are still waiting for our money. Despite numerous polite follow-up emails (to the Reception, Duty Manager, Finance Department Bill Wu, and even the Hotel Manager Mr. Langonné), we have received no proper response or proof of refund since May 30th. Our emails are being completely ignored. This lack of accountability and customer care is unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. We trusted the Mandarin Oriental brand and expected much better service and communication. Sadly, we cannot recommend this hotel to others based on how poorly this situation has been handled. If you stay here, be cautious with your deposit—you may never see it again!

A boutique hotel in size so doesn't have all the amenities of a large hotel but you are made to feel special here, and there is so much to see and do on your doorstep.
