Guest Reviews
- Ailsa (9/5): -
- Lynne (8/5): Good place to stay - Clean and comfortable rooms, quiet location and very friendly helpful staff. Very popular with locals and a large busy restaurant with a very varied menu so something for everyone also lots of outdoor seating and easy parking on site. We did find our room quite noisy due to people in the room above us stomping about and dropping things on the floor! Would stay again but would request a first floor room.
- Debbie (9/5): Would definitely be back - Perfect location, friendly staff, room was perfect and food great A small fridge in the room would be preferred.
- Claire (9/5): Great value for money and lovely comfy rooms. Everyone friendly and super dog friendly - We love properties with character. Our room had lots of space and the bed was so comfy! Only negative. We had the window open through the night as it was warm and we could hear a generator noise all night which was a bit annoying. Would still stay again

- Simon (10/5): -
- Susan (9/5): - Lovely, warm and friendly staff and environment.
Lovely views from the nearby Helm. The location was good as near the station, however to get to Kendal to then explore the lakes required a bus journey. The buses were not too regular and took a while to get to Kendal. It's great if you have your own transport.

- Annelise (10/5): Don't miss this gem! - Very dog friendly. Ace food. Fab breakfast. Staff were really friendly and helpful and well trained. Amazing walks directly opposite. Recommended. We loved everything!
- Varley (9/5): - Lovely room was very clean.
Good food and entertainment was good. Pool table and dartboard was good for my son Breakfast was very good The only thing I would add would be to pieces of fruit.
- Peters (10/5): -
- Gavin (9/5): - Room was clean, spacious and well furnished. Great selection of teas and coffees There was an outdoor eating area for the pub right by my window so it was quite noisy, but the noise didn't last until late.
- Heidi7 (9/5): Lovely, lively, well situated, friendly and comfortable. - Lovely friendly staff. Food was good. Atmosphere in the inn was very good. We were in a big group which was accommodated for very well, especially as we arrived at different times.
Rooms were very comfortable and good facilties. Loose plug point on the wall. V dangerous in double room.
Quite noisy with very inconsiderate guests above us.
- Heidi7 (9/5): Brilliant inn! - Accommodated large group. Plenty of parking space. Large accommodation with comfortable rooms and nooks and crannies for a substantial amount of guests. Great access from m6 and petrol stations. Food was brilliant. Staff were very accommodating, friendly and well trained. We were there bank holiday weekend and inn was well prepared. That we had to go.
- Matt (2/5): Very noisy , ground floor rooms beware! - Location Noise!
We had a ground floor room, this might be an old building but the sound proofing from upstairs is ridiculous, every step made our room shake, we could hear their conversations. This really isn’t good enough for a stay costing £120.
We didn’t stay for breakfast. Having been woken up at 6am seemed little point in hanging around for 2 hours to eat.
We did email the hotel after but had no reply.
- Alex (10/5): -

- Harald (9/5): really nice stay, great food, very spacious room, pet-friendly - very friendly hosts, very good food
- Dave (9/5): Good stay, I liked it. - Late availability. Dog friendly. Really handy for Oxenholme railway station. Good locally popular dining. In summer, with sunrise before 6 am, the (family) bedroom could do with window blinds on skylight.
- netty24 (10/5): Highly recommend - Second visit here would highly recommend. Friendly atmosphere and welcoming. Accommodation very comfortable Nothing to dislike
- Geesje (9/5): Friendly decent and comfortable stay. - Very nice staff, good size room, smooth check in, nice live music. It was good

- Philip (9/5): Fab stay - Location, room size, staff Nothing
- Rae (8/5): Good stopover with a dog. - Location and services - dog-friendly in the best sense. Stayed a few times now and always dependable. Nothing really.
- Alan (8/5): - Location. Easy to find. Large car parks Like warm water when ran a bath
- Shaun (10/5): - The service from the staff was exceptional.
- James (10/5): - Friendly staff and excellent location. Me and my family including 2 x dogs had a lovely weekend. Locals very friendly and welcoming
- Darren (9/5): -
- Harold Roger (10/5): Very good ideal position for easy access to Kendal. - The room was comfortable with plentiful tea and coffee making facilities.
Evening meal and breakfast very good.
- Adrian (9/5): We hope to return! - Splendid Well I would have turned down the volume of the canned music but it obviously contributed to the atmosphere for Many so I would not complain!
- Anna (8/5): Exactly what I needed for a one night stay - The staff were really pleasant, the service ce was good and informal and the location perfect I don’t know
- Anthony Mc Namara (10/5): - Everything senery buitiful locals very friendly We arrived by train it stated 5 minutes walk to station inn but it was all up a very steep hill apart from that it was excellent
- Jean (10/5): - Very friendly and welcoming staff. In a great location.Great family room and very clean. Room was a bit dated.
- Peter (10/5): -
- Barbara (9/5): A great dog-friendly stopover - A perfect stopover between London and north east Scotland. A warm welcome, a very comfortable room and a super meal in the bar in the evening. The Station Inn is very dog-friendly and the walk opposite the pub, the Helm, is a real bonus when you have a dog. Would highly recommend.
- Michael (9/5): Would go back again. - Grub was great and the pool and darts was a real bonus. Staff were very friendly and went above and beyond after I’d broken my ankle on a walk!!
- Laura (8/5): Great- Would stay again - Lovely location, the pub/ restaurant is very good with a very warm and friendly atmosphere. Food was variable depending on the dish- we had a large group of us and there was a mixed review of the quality. I personally thought my Halloumi sizzler was great. The rooms were very spacious, warm and homely with good tea making facilities. The shower itself was broken with low pressure, not very accessible as its an over bath shower- no issues to us but an issue to other members of our larger party who were staying. Better showering facilities- low water pressure and the over bath nature of the shower wasnt ideal for all of our group
- Yvonne L B (8/5): -
- Amy (10/5): -
- Bernard (7/5): Comfortable, convenient and pleasant. - Pleasant and helpful staff. Food was good. Bed comfortable. Someoe's children were jumping around upstairs but they quietened down at 10.00pm

Friendly, helpful and approachable staff, exceptionally clean rooms with a relaxing atmosphere and the food at both breakfast and evening time is amazing! - Deborah (9/5): - Room, food, staff Nothing
- John (9/5): -
- Daria (9/5): Comfy and tasty - I had a great experience staying here for one night before catching a train from Oxenholme station. The accommodation was really comfortable and the food was next level, absolutely delicious! Breakfast was also very good and the staff were super friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing stopover or a cosy getaway. The only downside (not really the hotel’s fault) was that the family staying above us was quite noisy, every step sounded like an elephant stomping around and the floorboards were a bit squeaky, which made it hard to sleep for a while. Thankfully, it didn’t last too long and overall it was still a really enjoyable stay.
- Yvonne (10/5): Loved it wish I could have stayed longer - Overall the place is amazing very handy for the train station. The staff are really friendly polite and helpful nothing was to much trouble. I had a fabulous room very clean warm and comfortable. The Breakfast and dinner was exceptional with a full Menu choice of meals I would certainly recommend the chefs special. The feeling in the place has a very warm, inviting welcoming, relaxing feel to it. I wouldn't hesitate staying there again it would be my first choice and I would certainly recommend to family and friends. I should have got a Taxi from the train station plenty waiting outside the station. Although the place is only 5 min walk away it is up a very steep hill. 'Well it is in the Lakes'
- John (10/5): -

- Kate (10/5): -
- Michèle (7/5): Staff were really friendly and room was comfortable. - Staff were really friendly. Evening meal in the restaurant was good. Location perfect. Noise level of guests walking down the stairs as we were in a floor level room.
- Abby (9/5): Fab family room and excellent breakfast - We stayed in a lovely family room with a big comfy double bed and adjoining twin room with a curtain to separate. I also asked for a cot which was no trouble and was made up with bedding for us. The breakfast was plentiful and good quality. It was also convenient to be able to have dinner there on the night of our stay, and the food was delicious. There was also a play park outside which the kids enjoyed. Convenient location a few minutes drive from Kendal. Sound travelled quite easily from the corridor (other guests going up and down the stairs etc)
- John (8/5): Jumping off point for Lake District - Pub and breakfast were very good. Our room on second floor was spacious The location was a bit of a hike uphill from the Oxenholme Station. Street had narrow sidewalks. Had expected it to be closer
