Guest Reviews
- Aanchal (10/5): Amazing property with great viewss - Sielen diva is a nice boutique hotel with just 7 rooms, practically a private beach(not swimmable), with great great views from the room.
Protip: take room on the first floor, preferably to the left most.
The property is 2 min tuktuk to turtle beach which has amazing turtle gracing it. Ahangama is 10 mons away from tuktuk.
The staff is good though not everyone is not well versed in English but sometimes you would be hard pressed to find someone around and the whatsapp number takes time to respond. There were times when we were eating and no one was around to attend to us.
The food was really really good and all credits to Tushar. Like the best Sri Lankan food we had was here.
Special shoutout to their housekeeping staff, they are really good, proactive and willing to clean the room multiples times a day.
The property, room(spacious) and bathroom are extremely tastefully done. The staff goes out after 9:30PM-10PM and last order is around the same time. So nothing to do in property after that.
The breakfast is one dish per person and portion controlled. Most of the days this was not issue and staff added some more portion basis our request but in limited quantity.

- Little (10/5): Heavenly - Ultra-luxury on the Sri Lankan south coast. I cannot overstate how fantastic every aspect of this hotel was. It was so nice that it was actually rather difficult to justify going anywhere else!
The staff were phenomenal and I do want to specifically call out the chef who made exquisite food to order. Genuinely better than anything I’ve had in a restaurant. The beach, while gorgeous and private, wasn’t safe to swim from because of currents. It isn’t something the property can control but I’m including in the review for awareness!
- Null (9/5): -
- Denise (8/5): -
- Tim (10/5): - We loved the place - it's in a quiet location not far from Unawatuna by Tuktuk with a lovely beach at the end of the garden. The staff, room, food and cocktails were all spectacular. It's a real statement design but that doesn't stop it feeling comfy and homely. We explored Turtle Beach, Unawatunam and Galle - all beautiful The pool was too hot but Im guessing that's hard to avoid!
- GARCIA MALDONADO (10/5): -
- Jill (9/5): True luxury boutique stay. - The absolutely wow factor view on arrival, stunning minimalist architecture. Wonderful staff - professional and caring. Beautiful warm pool and very comfortable sun loungers. Spacious chic bedroom, high quality bed linen. Very good in house catering - really no need to leave the property. More like staying at a very wealthy friend’s staffed home than a hotel! All supremely relaxing. Lacked a fridge or kettle in the room.
Limited availability from the wine list.
Sea too rough to swim in.
- Judith (10/5): - An oasis of beauty calm and tranquility
- Daniel (10/5): Luxurious hotel close to Unawatuna and Turtle Beach with the Wow effect - Everything. It is simply a luxurious stay with extremely friendly and well educated staff! The best we have experienced in all our Sri Lankan Hotels.
Also the view is breathtaking! The chef cooks incredibly delicious food!
- Edina (10/5): -
- alan (10/5): Great location and lovely staff - Lovely staff and amazing food both breakfast and evening meals
- Colin (9/5): Top quality, intimate and peaceful hotel, in a stunning ocean location - The location is wonderful: spectacular view but private and utterly tranquil. Extremely comfortable room, super shower, and excellent breakfast. Good restaurant too. Most of all, the staff are unfailingly charming, attentive, efficient, friendly and helpful. This is a boutique hotel with only seven rooms, very quiet and private, and everything is top quality. A fridge/minibar in the room should be standard in a hotel of this quality. We could have done with one. And it was disappointing that the cove in front of the hotel is not much good for swimming because of the rocks. That said, the hotel's pool, though narrow, is long enough for a good swim.
- Georgie (10/5): -
- James (9/5): -
- Neil (10/5): Perfect stay with delightful people - Fantastic location with beautiful sea views and access to the beach from the garden. The public spaces: Lounge, restaurant, patio and infinity pool are just beautiful and immaculately maintained. The food was so good that we ate here on each night of our 3 night stay. 3 nights simply wasn’t enough !!!! We stayed in El Kunji and the room was immaculate and extremely comfortable. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and ensured excellent sleeps during our stay. Super big bathroom with a bath(which we didn’t use) and lovely spacious shower.
Breakfasts were just delightful - delicious food and plentiful. Dinners were also excellent- particularly the Fish and Chicken Curries with super accompaniments.
However, what makes Seilen Diva special is the staff, who without exception were super attentive, pleasant and so kind - from security staff to housekeeping, the delightful waiters and chefs - all were truly brilliant.
A special mention goes to Duranjai and Ajit for going out of their way to look after us and make us feel so welcome. Conversations with them were always a pleasure. Top marks from us, a perfect stay ! Nothing
- Diego (10/5): -
- Patrick (8/5): - Das Essen war sehr gut. Man konnte nicht ins Meer gehen.
- Jeannette (9/5): -
- Nikita (10/5): Amazing, would definitely come back. - The hotel was amazing. Quiet and peaceful. Directly on the beach, our room had an amazing view of the beach. All the staff very friendly and attentive. In close proximity to lots of cafes and not far to get to galle. Our breakfast at the hotel was delicious and we had dinner at the restaurant one night too which was also exceptional. We had to check out at 5am to reach the airport in time and the team even delivered coffee to our room at 4:30am and had packed breakfast for us to take with us! They truly go above and beyond with a smile on their faces! Highly recommend! Everything was great.
- Nicole (10/5): Two days of bliss following 18 day work trip. - It’s a little gem! Nothing
N.v.t alles was geweldig
- Lewis (10/5): - AMAZINGGGGGGGGG
- Valeriia (10/5): The place is very peaceful and quiet. If you’re looking to spend time in solitude and truly enjoy a moment with yourself - This hotel is very small — there are only 7 rooms,
so it feels more like a boutique retreat than a regular hotel. I really appreciated that there were very few people around,
which allowed me to fully enjoy the peace and quiet and have time to myself.
The beach is beautiful, with stunning waves, and the staff is genuinely kind and welcoming. There is no gym or yoga at the hotel,
so you should be aware that you’ll be fully on your own when it comes to activities.
However, if you’re looking for a spa experience, they can bring in an outside therapist upon request
- Alina Giumerca (9/5): - Very tasty breakfast! Big room. The staff are very kind and good people. No fridge,no sleepers. I hope they will impruve. Otherwise very pleasant stay.
- rashmi_dxb (7/5): Beautiful property but... - A boutique style property, the room was beautifully designed with great views! The staff was lovey, as is the standard we've experienced in Sri Lanka. Breakfast is al-la-carte and pleasant. The bathroom was gorgeous too, with views to the sea.
The location is not bad, its 10 min to turtle point and a tuk-tuk ride to Unawatuna
Whatever food we had was nice. - no fridge, kettle/tea/coffee/phone to front desk in the room. There is a whtsapp number you can use but response is slow.
- There isnt an on-site spa, rather a therapist on demand who will set up services anywhere on the property.
- The room, while beautiful, needs a touch of maintenance- loose floor boards.
- Toiletries for the bathroom were just ok.
Does not feel like a a resort/hotel, rather like a high-end private home stay with staff and services.
- tarun (9/5): Amazing - Location and it was very quiet Less breakfast options
- Marit Høvik (10/5): -
- Torben (10/5): -
- Pierrick PELLET (10/5): -
- Amallie (9/5): - Unique Too dark at night
- Megan (10/5): A very relaxing last stop for our trip ! - Beautiful property, lovely staff, and stunning location. Breakfasts were great and the pool was a great size! Sunbeds were so comfy Everything was great!
Miejsce zdecydowanie warte polecenia i myślę że gdybyśmy byli w Unawatunie jeszcze raz ponownie wybralibyśmy Sielen Diva ☺️
- Simon (10/5): Parfait - Tout etait parfait rien a redire
- Dorota (2/5): -
- Peter (9/5): -
- Gyönyörű partszakaszon,közel a Turtle Beach és közben nyugodt, csendes!A medence fantasztikus!És óriási tágas szobák.
- Katerine (10/5): A stunning place with a true 5* ocean view from your private hot tub. - Sielen Diva exceeded all expectations!
The room was spacious, the views were spectacular, and the design blends beautifully with the outdoors. There’s more than enough common space and staff for a hotel that only has seven rooms, which makes the experience feel intimate yet effortlessly comfortable.
The food was excellent — the à la carte menu offered a wide variety of options throughout the day. The staff were attentive, and our room was always refreshed by the time we returned from breakfast.
A special mention to Ajith, the property manager, who went above and beyond to help with every detail and made the place feel like home — or at least like somewhere you’ve stayed many times before. n/a
- Naomi (10/5): We were blown away by the hotel and staff, already planning our next visit. - It was just beautiful - stylish, comfortable, spotlessly clean, amazing location. The food was exquisite and the staff were brilliant. Nothing, it was everything we hoped it would be and more.
- Shaheryar (9/5): - Every thing was very good. Only two things lacking which are necessary :
1. Coffee / tea maker in the room
2. Fridge. (Must needed) No
1. Coffee / tea maker in the room
2. Fridge. (Must needed)
- Genn (10/5): - Beautifully styled boutique hotel with a unique feel. The room was large and meticulously clean with an amazing beach view from the floor to ceiling windows. Everything looks exactly like the photos.
The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly without being overbearing. They even surprised me with cake for my birthday after noticing my birth date on check in.
The food was also incredible. I highly recommend the Sri Lankan big breakfast with string hoppers, pol roti, curries and sambal.
- Omar (10/5): This place is just amazing! The view is unreal, the food is delicious, and the vibes are perfect. Totally worth it — suc - An unforgettable stay — the breathtaking view, delicious food, kind staff, and calming sound of the waves made it truly special. A wonderful place to relax and a perfect choice for couples or honeymooners.
- Aleksandra (10/5): -
- Emma (10/5): Beautiful all round- if you get chance go, we felt thoroughly spoilt and looked after. Rooms are gorgeous too - Everything, it was beautifully clean, maintained. The service was wonderful, staff exceptional, food delicious. I cannot fault it at all Nothing!
- Caoimhe (10/5): - This hotel is amazing. The staff go above and beyond. The location is stunning. The breakfast and dinner are delicious! Would highly recommend.
- Daniel (10/5): Everything we wished for our honeymoon ❤️
10/10 recommended - Everything about this place is simply amazing. We were on our honeymoon and sielen diva was our first stop in Sri lanka. It exceeded all our expectations. Our room "yanai" was super spacious with the best view of the whole beach. It's very high furnished with a big bathroom and bathtub with views. The whole property is very beautiful with aesthetic details that compliments the vibes.
The staff were super friendly and lovely offering advices and recommendations on what to do and where to go. They always had a smile on their face and made us feel not just welcomed but also very hard to say goodbye.
Breakfast was 10/10 it was a la carte with many options to choose from. Portions were big and variety was full of options. Coffee was amazing and the hospitality management is unraveled.
Location of the property was also accessible and close to galle, beaches, unawatuna and all the imp attractions. Tuktuk is very accessible and we even took the bus many times.
We stayed for almost 5 days and we would do it again of possible. This place gave us wonderful memories and a camera full of breathtaking photos The only thing that was missing was a fridge inside the room. However the staff were very helpful and got us ice whenever we asked so we did not feel any problem.
- Goudelock (10/5): Amazing! - Amazing hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Setting up tours and other events for the stay. The breakfast and food are wonderful. Laundry price was a little bit high.
- Brad (10/5): If you are looking for a wow experience look no further - It’s hard to believe that such a beautiful place exists. I completely loved the small boutique hotel feel. Richly appointed and a very welcoming staff. We had our own private beach with sunset views. We had breakfast, drinks and dinner and the food was outstanding.
- Vitasta (10/5): -
- Catalina (10/5): - I can’t recommend this villa enough. Everything was perfect (the room, the stuff, the food). A little paradise. We had an amazing stay.
It was quite, the pool amazing, right on the beach to go see turtles. Everything was perfect for us
- Marta (9/5): -
- Sol (10/5): Must stay! - Absolutely gorgeous. Fair price for an amazing view and very comfortable stay. Room was very spacious and clean. We stayed at Mora room ;)
Bathroom was excellent, water pressure magnificent. Pool and outdoors also very enjoyable.
Breakfast very delicious. The whole service was great, staff very nice and helpful. The welcome drink was super good we order it again and again: cinnamon ice tea ;)
10 mins tuktuk ride to the downtown which is 500LKR max. There is always a driver outside the door ready to take you.
I do recommend as well to take a tuktuk to turtle beach. Seems close but walking thru the beach is not really possible. All excellent!
- David (10/5): Such a beautiful experience - The hotel and its views are stunning, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, cleaning the room every AM and then coming back later in the day/evening to check if you need anything else
The food....oh my......its simply amazing, breakfast, pool snacks, dinner. .. .. it was all great. No real complaints.....any issues you just send a message to the hotels staff and they will sort immediately if possible
- Michael (10/5): - Located very nicely with a perfect view on the ocean. The staff was super nice and the food very tasty. A beach with big Turtles is just a 10 minute walk along the beach away and they are a few even tho it was low season.
- Linus Daniel (10/5): -
- Luisa (10/5): - posizione, staff, cucina, vista.... tutto meraviglioso niente
- Lalit Kumar (9/5): Excellent stay! - The staff, specially the Chef Tusgara abd rest of the team were very good. Made our stay v comfortable. No everything was fine.
- Aditya (9/5): - Lovely boutique hotel in a stunning location. Floor to ceiling windows overlooking the ocean. Staff is very helpful and warm. Food is excellent. Feels like home and a better experience versus traditional hotels. I think the owners should consider renovating the property a bit. Origins in 2018 so it’s starting to show some signs of wear and tear but that’s a humble suggestion
- Lalit Kumar (10/5): Stay was excellent. Dinner was very good, specially Chef Tushara was very good - B/f could be improved
- Dione (8/5): -
- Nicola (10/5): - What I loved most about Hotel Serenité was the incredible warmth and availability of the entire staff - every single person we encountered, from reception to restaurant service, showed genuine kindness and was always ready to help with anything we needed.
The food quality was absolutely sublime. Every meal exceeded our expectations with exceptional flavors and beautiful presentation. We only went out for dinner once during our stay, and it immediately made us appreciate just how outstanding the hotel's culinary standards really are - the comparison was eye-opening!
The property itself is beautifully maintained with comfortable, elegant accommodations and a perfect location that balances accessibility with peaceful tranquility. Everything felt thoughtfully designed for guest comfort.
It's rare to find a place where both the human touch and culinary excellence come together so perfectly. Hotel Serenité truly delivers an exceptional experience that goes beyond just accommodation - it's genuine hospitality at its finest. Low cost Hair dryer
- Tenenbaum (10/5): - Staff, very welcoming
Very good restaurant, great rooms

- Prajnay (10/5): Exceptional - Great Villa. Great Service
- Shreenidhii (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gaurav (10/5): - One of the Best Hotel Stays We've Ever Had
We stayed in the Yanai room at Sielen Diva, and it was possibly one of the best hotel rooms I’ve ever experienced. The panoramic ocean view from the bed is absolutely breathtaking — we spent hours just gazing through the window, completely at peace.
This hotel feels like it was thoughtfully and optimally designed around the oceanfront. Whether it’s the rooms, the lounge area, or the stunning infinity pool, everything is positioned to keep the sea in view and at the heart of your experience.
The room itself is much larger than the pictures suggest, and the bathroom is equally spacious and luxurious.
The staff were warm, attentive, and always ready to accommodate any request with genuine hospitality.
Sielen Diva is tranquil, elegant, and unforgettable. We can’t wait to return.
- Mohammed (10/5): PERFECT PARADISE - Everything from the amazing staff to the management everyone was making sure to have the best time possible
Food with incredible and I would argue the breakfast there was better then any restaurant I went to
This is a place that I will definitely come back to in fact I will only stay here when I come back
- Rita (10/5): Breathtaking view, the rooms are spacious and nice. Staff is great. We have loved our stay -
- Natalie (9/5): Stunning views, warm hospitality, and unforgettable moments swimming with turtles - This place is absolutely stunning — a true slice of paradise. The setting is breathtaking, and the atmosphere is incredibly peaceful. I had one of the best massages I’ve ever experienced, and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or attentive. Unawatuna is just a short tuk-tuk ride away, with plenty of great restaurants, though the food at the hotel itself was excellent — the tikka wrap, in particular, was delicious.
While the private beach is picturesque, the sea can be a little rough for swimming. That said, just a short walk away you’ll find a beautiful, calmer beach where you can swim alongside sea turtles — a real highlight of our trip.
Our room was enormous, with a super comfy bed and the most breathtaking views. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to relax and recharge. n/a

- Bethany (10/5): An absolute gem of a boutique hotel. Would highly recommend for a five star stay! - We loved everything about Sielen Diva! An absolute gem of a boutique hotel. The villa is incredible, our room was gorgeous. The staff are amazing, attentive and really friendly. The food was five star and the view is unmatched! If anything, the beer is a little pricey but not a major issue!
- Maximdje (10/5): One of the best stays in my life <3 - The villa is truly one of a kind and within my 7 night stay i was stunned about the level of service, the food in the own restaurant (only for guests), the safety (security on road and beach side) and especially with the staff's kindness as well as the room's quality. For me, my stay in Sielen Diva, was one of the best ones in my life. Thank you!
- Thomas (10/5): Excellent stay. Highly recommended - Excellent stay. Highly recommended
- Thuwaiba (8/5): Very good -
- Rumal (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lee (9/5): Superb - Beautiful hotel in a quiet spot within easy tuk tuk to Unawatuna and Galle. Facilities, food and staff were lovely and I was surprised at how many hours I spent watching the waves crash on the rocks out the front.
- Beatrix (10/5): Amazing place - We have spent there 1 week. Tho hotel was amazing with kind, smiley, helpfull people! Outstanding location on the beach, magnificient view to the ocean. The kitchen was the best I have ever tasted. Supreme quality. I recommend it to everyone who is looking for a high-quality place to relax. -
- Manuela (10/5): Exceptional stay, highly recommended! - Our stay at the Sielen Diva was outstanding. Amazing villa with beach access, top level service from staff always attentive and very personal to your requirements. Hotel food and drink was high level. Much more of a personal experience than staying in a chain hotel. Couldn’t recommend this hotel more. The only let down from our perspective was no gym, they have a games room/library which is an ideal space for a gym. I would score a 9.5/10 for this reason. Everything else is 10/10.
- Tamás (10/5): Exceptional - We recently had the pleasure of staying at Sielen Diva and it was nothing short of perfection. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the hotel’s stunning architecture and elegant design.
The culinary experience was exceptional—undoubtedly the best I’ve ever had. The chef’s creations were a masterpiece of flavors, using fresh and locally sourced ingredients that elevated every meal. Whether it was breakfast by the beach or a gourmet dinner under the stars, every bite was unforgettable.
The hotel was impeccably clean, with beautifully maintained rooms and pristine public spaces. The beach was another highlight— huge waves and beautiful turtles.
Above all, the staff made this experience truly outstanding. Their warm hospitality, attention to detail, and willingness to go above and beyond ensured that every moment was by special.
If you’re looking for a luxurious getaway with world-class dining, breathtaking scenery, and exceptional service, it is the place to be. I can’t wait to return!
- Dianne (10/5): Beautiful luxurious beach front hotel with lots of special touches - The hotel is beautiful more like a large villa than hotel in style. All rooms face the sea and the hotel has direct access to the beach. The room we had - mora - was spacious clean and comfortable. The en-suite had very large bath with sea view and fabulous huge wet room type shower. Rooms are tidied each morning with evening turn down service too. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. There’s an infinity pool with sun loungers right in front of the sitting area and dining space. But with only seven rooms nowhere felt overly busy. If you prefer private sitting areas the garden rooms might suit you more though as they had sun loungers right outside their rooms. Really easy to get to Fort Galle - you’ll need transport for this. we went into the Fort to eat most evenings. There’s a beach bar/cafe about 100m along the beach. Although on a busy road the hotel is well set back from the road and gated too. there are other hotels / bars / restaurants along this road too. A lovely hotel well thought out with numerous special touches. We loved it. It’s a lovely hotel - the proximity of pool and sun loungers to dining space might not suit everyone but we were happy with it. the accommodation is lovely and staff really friendly and welcoming.
- Lisa (8/5): Very good - Sea front location I think people should be aware of if they have a later flight or driver arriving slightly later than 12 o’clock you are asked to vacate the property you can leave your luggage
- Francesca (10/5): Beautiful tranquil villa on the beach with amazing staff and delicious food - The best way to describe Sielen Diva is tranquil. The villa is beautifully designed and furnished with all the focus on the stunning ocean views. The staff were exceptional, attentive and warm and they've managed to create a unique place that feels like home with the amenities of a hotel. The room and bathroom was lovely and exactly what we needed. You instantly feel relaxed and at ease when staying here. And the food was delicious, the Sri Lankan breakfast and crab curry was a highlight throughout our entire trip. The cocktails and other breakfast selection was also delicious, I can't recommend this place enough for a relaxing and tranquil break on the Sri Lankan coast. The activities on offer could be improved. The massage prices are 4 times the price in the local town, whilst I would expect some price inflation 4 times seems a bit extortionate. The yoga was also priced quite highly. Appreciate it may not be possible because of the small number of guests (which is a positive) I wonder if offering some activities to guests included in the price of the stay would be possible as that would be a great improvement e.g. film nights on the grass overlooking the beach, yoga sessions included in the price.
