- Natalie (8/5): Peaceful stay in Kyoto - Loved the peaceful location, only 10-15 min walk from the station. The steep stairs are very risky with small children.

- Tania (8/5): Great cozy location in kyoto - Beautiful little apartment very close to kyoto station and key shopping locations. We were able to walk to a number of attractions we wanted to visit. Very peaceful spot to stay after exploring all day in crowds. Layout - would suit a family with children but travelling with 4 adults was not ideal floor plan, however this was more our misunderstanding than the accomdations site.
- Tara (10/5): Quiet, local experience!! - I enjoyed the apartment style, being able to experience how locals live. The area was quiet and convenient from the train station. I even got to cook breakfast in the kitchen. Great experience! The stairs are very steep so anyone with mobility issues should not stay here. No convenience stores close by.
- Rasid (10/5): Great! - Everything is great - especially for a short term stay The futon might need replacement soon - they are quite used
- Anthony (6/5): - Location, quiet Steep stairs, small toilet room, cold without all heaters going, lack of glassware
- Pierre (10/5): Super ! - Parfait de À à Z
- katandsunny (8/5): Smooth, reliable accommodation with great communication and a safe, quiet neighborhood - The communication with the host was fantastic! We asked if we could send our luggage via Yamato a few days before check-in because we wanted to spend a couple of nights in Hakone before arriving in Kyoto and didn’t want to travel with all our large bags. The host responded quickly and was more than happy to help with no issues at all. When we arrived in Kyoto, our luggage was neatly placed in the accommodation, with nothing missing. Everything was handled perfectly—highly reassuring and very convenient. The only minor downside was the location. It’s slightly far from the nearest stations—being in between Kyoto Station and Gojo Station—which can be a bit challenging when traveling with a senior and a child. The surrounding streets can also be a little hard to recognize for tourists due to how dense the area is. That said, the neighborhood felt very safe, even when walking around at night.

- Imran (7/5): Cute house but... - Cute house. Decent location especially with proximity to the main train station, supermarkets and restaurants. Just didnt appreciate the layout of the house that much. Pretty cramped and steep staircase was quite a danger for young kids. See my earlier response.
- Ahmet (10/5): - İts clean and comfortable house
- Natalia (9/5): -
- Mark (9/5): Great location, quiet neighborhood. Walkable to temples, train station, and restaurants. - Located close enough to walk to Kyoto Station. Very quiet neighborhood. Washer/dryer machine was super convenient and allowed us to only pack half the clothes for the trip and do one wash day. Excellent sashimi set restaurant just around the corner.
- Laureen (8/5): Nice quiet room to camp out in Kyoto. - The location was odd for the taxi to find but once we were there it was close to the station, 711, and it was very quiet. We had a very nice day in Kyoto and saw and did the things we'd planned. The main bed was comfortable and having a tub in the bath was nice. Its a dead end street and I felt safe in the neighborhood walking around. We are heavy senior Americans and the stairs were a challenge. I really had to struggle to get into the room because the railing ends before the door. We had to descend backwards and I had to keep a chair near the bottom to navigate the curve. My knees touch the wall when I sit in the loo, I'm used to using a railing to stand and sit. Getting up and down off the floor was hard after a long day.
If you are Japanese and used to these things It's probably just normal.
- Manuela (8/5): -

- Nicole (8/5): Great, clean and tidy place - perfect for small families or groups. - Nice little place, clean and comfortable, great location and easy walk to train stations, konbinins and supermarkets. Wish we were left an extra garbage bag so we could empty the kitchen bin when full.
- Karen (8/5): Well located town house with all mod cons! - Has everything you need facility-wise! Lovely tatami floors in lounge and one of the bedrooms. Like having a washing machine available. Awesome location between two beautiful temples. Steep stairs from the upper floor to downstairs toilet/bathroom; divider between the two bedrooms is just a sliding screen/wall
- Jacques (7/5): Bien pour un séjour en couple -
- Marcel (9/5): - Cute nice villa with good bedrooms.
- Andre (8/5): Very cute but very tiny house in good location - Cleanliness and location Weird noise from AC, very small toilet—knees against wall
- Thomas (9/5): - My family and I (2 adults and 1 two year old child) stayed here for 4 nights.
We loved the property and it met all our needs. The property had 2 bed rooms, one with a good size double bed and the other with fold out mattresses. This was excellent for us with our 2 year old child.
The kitchen area was well equipped and very clean. The property had a clothes washing machine with detergent (which we greatly appreciated), and also had tea and coffee supplied. The living room was a good size and accommodated us all for eating. Please note the table and chairs are floor level (as in the pictures supplied by the host) so if this is a issue for you do bear this in mind.
As for the bathroom this too was very clean and towels were supplied. The toilet room was also very clean.
Regarding location the property is less than 15 mins walk from the main station, a short walk to restaurants, shops and public transport. We had no problem with noise as the property is in a quiet residential area.
The host was great at communication and very understanding of our needs with a 2 year old.
Overall, this property was perfect for our stay in Kyoto, especially as we were travelling with a young child. The price we paid we felt was very reasonable and we completely recommend it. If we are ever in Kyoto again (fingers crossed) we would happily stay here again. Honestly can't think of anything.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Short walk to bus station, underground and foos stores. Fantastic communcation with the owner.
There's a great local izakaya called Hana just 300 m from the property. We were a family of 3 and it was just right size for us. But I think that for more people it might get a bit crowded.
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Bedroms on upper floor were a good size - larger than we similar places we rented in Japan. Steep stairs!
- Siam (9/5): Superb -
- Tom (7/5): It’s a pleasant place, small & traditional, good facilities and generally happy with my stay - It’s a nice traditional styled place There are no comfortable places to sit and relax after a long day. Chairs are traditional floor seats. Not good if you have issues with back pain.
As a tall man, I could not use the toilet comfortably, it is far too close to the wall.
- Adam (8/5): Beautiful, quiet place in the centre of Kyoto - It is a lovely house in a quiet street at a central location of Kyoto. Well connected with busses and metro, a short walk away from the station. The vibe is really nice with a little inner garden, a kotatsu table, zaisu chairs, a tatami room with futon beds (next to a regular double bed in the other bedroom). We enjoyed our week-long stay here. There isn't really space to "spread out" - no wardrobe to unpack to (only a coat hanger and a futon wardrobe that's mostly full with extra materaces), just enough space in the living room to sit around the table with 3 people, the smallest possible toilet ;) We managed, but it does require keeping your things constantly in order. The stairs to the upper floor are very steep - again, something that takes getting used to.
- Celeste (9/5): Superb -
- Ching-yi (8/5): Very good -
- Lam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michi (7/5): Good -
- Alexandra (8/5): We would stay there again! Great stay. - Location, size, comfortable bed, kitchen facilities, shower, all very good. No toaster, steep stairs for our little kids which we were prepared for, we were there at 1-10 degrees Celsius and it was pretty cold in the house.
- Catherine (8/5): Very good -
- Eric (9/5): Superb -
- Mallory (8/5): Very good -
- Chen (8/5): Great spot and authentic Japanese stay. - Great location. Walking distance to bike rental, food, supermarket, onsen and train station.
- Julie (8/5): Very good -
- Charmaine (8/5): Very good -
- Ser (10/5): Great for family with baby. About 7 mins walk from nearest train station. - Very nice traditional Japanese house, good for 4 pax with luggages downstairs. Warm enough for winter stay. Host is very responsive and helpful. I won’t said dislike, but the authentic Japanese house with steep stairs will need careful walk going up and down.
- Evan (8/5): Amazing! - Quaint and strategic location, good and fully functional facilities and amenities, very clean and well planned space, reasonable price. Host is very friendly and responsive. Shower took a bit of adapting to
- Belén (8/5): Very good - The two rooms, the towels, the kitchen, the situation Everything except the place to eat. It was not confortable.
Also I missed some place to hung the towels after the shower
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Tharaka (9/5): Nice and calm place - Cosy and the location os very calm Would have been good to have a iron at the property
- Tim (10/5): Lovely Japanese townhouse - Lovely little townhouse that gave us a great Japanese experience. So very cute and a refuge to come home to after a busy day sightseeing. It was ideal for my sister and I for a week of exploring Kyoto. 15 mins walk from Kyoto station It would be difficult to have children here with the steep stairs. More than 2 people could possibly start to feel crowded. Limited storage space
- Alex (3/5): Poor - Enjoyed the vibe and the location The toilet smelt terrible and put us off using it
- Francesco (9/5): Superb - The Japanese style of this apartment is amazing ! Hosts are really helpful and supportive Stairs too steep
- Wei-shi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional - It has authentic Japanese style. Maybe it is small but it is a good experience to have, staying in such a nice house. Nothing
- Sasithorn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (9/5): Quiet and clean - The place is very quaint. Very Japanese. There is no sofa but a table in which you sit on very low chairs close to floor. One of the bedrooms had two comforter mattresses on the floor and one bedroom had a regular bed. The kitchen was fully stocked and also had a combo washer/ dryer.by American standards it was like a tiny house but when compared with the hotel rooms we’ve stayed at, this was a mansion. It was also walking distance to train station. The only problem anyone might encounter were very steep stairs leading to the second floor bedrooms. If someone had a disability or were elderly, they might want to consider if they can climb narrow, steep stairs. This seems to be the norm as we have encounter steep stairs in restrauants that have second floors in Japan.
- Steve (8/5): Great place to stay and super convenient, however not the most comfortable - Really nice and great location for station and transport…walkable to most of the landmarks. Nice shower and two good sized bedrooms! overall good experience Downstairs is small and nowhere to sit other than Japanese style table on picture which is not so comfortable if you are not used to it. Also a little dusty
- Robert (9/5): We felt more at home hear than any other place we stayed at during our holiday. - The most original Japanese accomodation we stayed in during our holiday. The hosts/owners were just fantastic. Helpful, cheerful and a joy to converse with. If you are looking for the real Japan this accomodation has it all. The newly updated room and bathroom were spot on. Some blockout curtains on the veranda windows would help keep the very early morning. light out for just a little longer.
- Stephen (5/5): An experience ... would not recommend. - it waa clean and not far from Kyoto station. The area was quiet. Cafes a 10 minute walk. The dining tAble and chairs were traditional... so you had to sit on the floor. There was one chair upstairs and one chair downstairs. The staircase was very steep. So we couldnt eat or relax there.
- Reema (7/5): Apart from toilet issue, it was good - Price and clean the hair dryer doesn’t work
The tiniest toilet ever, it’s even tinier than the airplane one, I feel sorry for obese people. 😅
- Christopher (6/5): Pleasant - Aesthetically pleasing, has pretty much everything you need, Lawson close by Much smaller than expected, a rather long walk from any station, almost dangerously steep staircase, thin walls.
- Sofia (8/5): Very good - Great hosts, very responsive and helpful when we asked to leave our luggage outwith check in and out times. Nice and compact place that has everything you need, very close to Kyoto station.
- Heather (6/5): Six night stay - Unit was very clean and cleaning staff helpful when we couldn’t get in to our villa. Washing machine had a dryer option. Although very slow did dry the clothes in small batches. The service was average, mix up with the units where we got moved. Our code didn’t work at either property. Minimal extras provided, like two pillow cases, two coffee capsules (7 days). Top it off the WIFi stopped working on the last day, after we got home late!
- Ivo (9/5): Superb -
- Janiah (9/5): We liked it very much! - The house is very clean and comfortable, a cute machiya indeed. The house is very warm, and homey. Eveything was well-stocked; toiletries and even detergent, we got to wash our clothes. A lot of shops and restaurants in the neighborhood as well. The neighborhood is so peaceful as well. It was quite far from kyoto staion, it is like 15-20 min walk. I think walk to and fro the station is just fine, its like exploring the neighborhood. There are bus stops nearby though.
- Nicholas (9/5): Superb -
- Anchi (9/5): Comfortable and easy - Quiet location with easy access to MRT, the kotatsu was the highlight on very cold days/nights! The bath is great and overall very comfortable for sleep and quiet!! They should turn off the bright green exit sign that is right in eye line from the bed when trying to sleep! Had to wear an eye mask every night. But that’s minor. It is also very cold. Old building so maybe I would go in another season but they provide heating in each room so it is comfortable!
- Bryan (8/5): Very good - Property was clean, well maintained, and close to so much. Beds were super comfy. Main floor of property was small, but as we weren’t there for much more than sleeping the upstairs was perfect.
- Damien (8/5): Very good - Candy was super responsive when we had an issue with the WiFi. Toilet is a bit of a struggle if you as are over 6'.
- Jesse (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (9/5): A really pleasant stay - This two-storey villa is clean, tidy, spacious and close to bus stops. Nothing in particular. If really have to say something, it could be about the walking distance to Kyoto station. It might be a bit far away if you’re with heavy luggages. I ended up taking a taxi to commute in between. No problem to walk if just with light luggages.
- Hyoung (8/5): Very good -
- Hayden (8/5): Great traditional home stay - Central location. Virtually full kitchen/ full size fridge. Washing machine. Offsite manager was quick to respond and resolve the only issue we had. No drier or much hanging space for laundry items and towels
- Beatrice (9/5): Superb - Great location in an authentic neighborhood. A few extra items in the kitchen would be convenient like glasses.
- Santhiya (5/5): I didn’t really like it - Is actually small n congested
mainly suited for backpack travellers Is actually small n congested
mainly suited for backpack travellers
- Hsy (9/5): Superb - Cleanliness and tidy. Very well equipped with the necessities. NIL
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Rosi (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay in this villa. Nice location and a comfortable place to stay especially to have the freedom t - It was a lovely little villa soo it allowed us the opportunity to just do our own thing. The weather was freezing soo we were grateful to come back to our warm abode. Would have been nice to know how to find the heating. We finally figured it out. Everything else was amazing.
- Margaret (9/5): Superb - Quiet and convenient location, close to station and bus stops. Candy was very friendly, and was paricularly helpful in meeting my check in needs.
The house is compact with good modern amenties.
- Mary (9/5): Great introduction to a quiet way of life. - Nice, quiet location. Loved the shower and bath. Great having the use of a kotatsu. Laundry was so easy to do here, had great drying every day on the small balcony outside the bedroom. Lovely izakaya called Hana just on the main street. Quaint little shrine close by. Great stay over all. The stairs were very difficult and dangerous to climb, also very little room to move in the toilet.
- Alan (10/5): Loved the experience thank you - Fantastic experience thanks Bath was smaller than We thought it would be.
- Mei (8/5): Cozy, quiet and comfortable. - Mattresses and comforters, bathroom toiletries. A little bit small space for 4 adults.
- Lee (8/5): Very good -
