- deborah (10/5): Second time here and pleased again. Very friendly and good food -
- Neil (10/5): A well run small hotel. Ideally situated in the town of Sennybridge, ideally placed for the Brecon Beacons and Epynt Mil - Very clean recently decorated room, well appointed and with a comfortable bed. The food in the restaurant was very good with a good selection on the menu. Quite busy on the Saturday evening, so I would recommend booking a table. Staff were really helpful throughout the stay.
- Cheryl (9/5): The management was attentive and responsive, friendly and kind. - The breakfast was good, freshly prepared if a hot breakfast was desired. Perhaps more fresh fruit.
- robert (8/5): -
- Biny (4/5): Uncomfortable beds ( very soft), basic bathroom facilities, bathroom door didn’t close. Located on main road next to tra - Friendly staff The location

- Alan (8/5): Great - This is a lovely little hotel that's much better than it appears online. Rooms were super clean and very comfortable. The restaurant was far better than we expected - simple and tasty main courses and desserts, nicely cooked. There's nothing fancy here, but for a small hotel at the side of a main road we loved it. (Booking says my "very good" rating is only an 8, but the Usk and Railway is better than others I've stayed in that have been rated over 9.) Shower was only ok, but not the worst on our trip. Seems a bit churlish to complain.

- Teresa (10/5): - My husband and I checked in for a 2 night stay 6-8 April 2026. The whole place is beautiful. It is spotlessly clean, welcoming and extremely comfortable with fabulous food at reasonable prices. The welcome we got was fantastic 😀 I liked everything!!

- Angela (10/5): I'll be back - The host met me and showed me to my room: very comfortable and well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and an en-suite shower room. I had a very good evening meal which was exactly what I ordered. I slept well in the comfortable bed. In the morning, I had breakfast which I had pre-ordered on arrival. The premises are cosy and welcoming. There is ample car parking, including a car park to the rear of the property.
I felt that the host was welcoming and helpful, and I knew that I could contact her at any point during my stay, which was very reassuring. I would not find fault with this accommodation at all.

- John (8/5): Warm welcome on a windswept, rainy night. - We were greeted warmly by the owners and even on a Sunday evening had the most delicious meal.
The pub had a lovely welcoming feeling about it and it was warm and cosy.
Breakfast was really good and overall we were extremely pleased with our stay.
The bedroom had all you could need and everything was really clean.
We would have no hesitation staying there again if we returned to that area,
Thank you very much. Nothing.
- Gill (10/5): Really welcoming and great rooms - The warm welcome, the lovely clean spacious room and the food Nothing
- David (9/5): -
- Laura (9/5): Friendly homely stay clean and a great breakfast - Lovely and homely, clean with great facilities and warm and friendly welcome. Nothing !
- Mr DAVID (10/5): - Left each morning before breakfast so nice to be offered a takeaway sausage sandwich, thank you.
Got a couple of evening walks and pre-warned about possibility of closed restaurant if quiet but other options not required as lovely and busy.
- Michelle (10/5): Lovely night away - Lovely little hotel with great food. So handy for Breacon Beacons. Staff were lovely and so helpful.
- Hilary (10/5): -
- Christopher (7/5): Comfortable, - Clean, good shower comfortable
Convenient for exploring Brecon and hiking Noisy with pub
- dirk (8/5): -
- Marco (10/5): -
- Nigel (8/5): A nice friendly stay with only minor complaints. - The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable.
The breakfast was very nice and lots of choice. The carpet was pretty old and wrinkled
The shower was good but a little tired with holes and a bracket where a soap dispenser used to be.
The sink had a crack in it which was just unsightly not leaking.
- Gavin (6/5): - It was a quaint little inn, I liked the decor
Decent shower… The outside main road outside was noisy
- Anthony (10/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): - My husband and I had a really lovely stay at the Usk & Railway Inn, from the friendly greeting at check in, the clean, good sized and comfortable room, with a good complimentary tray of tea, coffee and biscuits, and toiletries, to the superb evening meal (a fantastic Sunday roast), we had a wonderful nights sleep. It was finished off by a hearty cooked breakfast, which we both thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you both, you’re great hosts.
- Thomas (6/5): - The hotel was ok and facilities were ok. Food was not too bad.
- Janet (10/5): Great - Lovely hotel with wonderful hosts.
- Danielle (9/5): Great room great food and great location. Lovely owners. Would absolutely love to come back - Location, lovely room, fantastic breakfast
- Nicola (10/5): Perfect - Perfect spot! Exceptionally clean. Easy check in and out. Nothing
- Charlotte (8/5): -
- Kurt (7/5): Grosses sauberes Zimmer, mit Hund vor Ort zum Spazieren nicht so geeignet. - Sehr grosses und sauberes Zimmer.
- Alison (9/5): Great pub with rooms located very conveniently for exploring the area. - A cosy, clean and comfortable room and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We had dinner and breakfast there and both meals were lovely. Great value for money and in a very convenient spot for exploring the beacons. Nothing!
- Francois (7/5): Well situated geographically but too close to main road - Clean modern room and dining areas. Hot weather meant open windows directly onto main A road traffic. Area is expensive due to proximity of coast and ferries.
- Silvia (10/5): - Very comfortable beds and room. The Inn was also very quiet during our stay. A special mention to the owners that arranged a late check-in for us at the last minute and was available to talk to us late in the evening.
We enjoyed a typical full breakfast in the morning. The location is convenient to visit Brecon Beacon and you will find tourist information in the room. All good!
- peter (8/5): We had a lovely stay overall. - Room was very clean and offered what we needed. Everything was lovely and clean. Dinners were lovely we ate there 2 out of our 3 night stay. Breakfast was also good. Pillows in room were very flat and could do with being replaced, I woke up with headaches on two of the mornings due to these being so flat. Room felt a little dated. Breakfast times could be extended as we were limited between 8 and 9 am.
- Graham (10/5): -
- Marion (4/5): Just not for us - The room was nice & comfortable The lack of food menu .
The guy running the place wasn’t very friendly . lots of flies in dining room . The food was ok.
- Evans (8/5): Very happy - Staff
Location
Homely feel
Breakfast
Cleanliness Pillows too thin
No fan in the room
I thought price through booking.com bit high

- Taylor (10/5): Great stay, would come back again if in Brecon! - Room very spacious, pub downstairs great food and drinks! Reasonable priced food, dog friendly, staff very friendly, good choice of breakfast Nothing
- Stephanie (10/5): A great place to stay right in the heart of Sennybridge, I will be back for sure - The room was nicely appointed and had plenty of storage space, power points and tea/coffee. Breakfast was really tasty, cooked to order just as I asked. A great place to stay right in the heart of Sennybridge, I will be back for sure the stairs are a bit tricky maybe, but were fine for me
- Matthew (8/5): Great hosts, good food and drinks. Nice friendly place to stay with decent parking. - Lovely friendly staff and very attentive friendly hosts. The room was great, and the shower was excellent. Food was very good and reasonably priced as was the beer! Included cooked breakfast was very good. Our room faced the road and we needed the windows open as it was hot. Even though i always sleep with earplugs i still got woken up occassionally by passing traffic throughout the night. A fan would be a good addition to the room as it did get very warm as there wasn't much of a breeze. I would stay here again, but i'd definately ask for a room at the back next time :-)
- Hewitt (7/5): -
- Steve (8/5): Very cosy stay, friendly welcoming owners - Great location. Easy to find.
- Bert (10/5): gezellig, aangenaam, aanrader !
- Laura (8/5): -
- Susan (9/5): -
- Karen (10/5): - Beautiful quiet location near the Brecan Beacons, cosy pub, very friendly helpful hosts and food was delicious Nothing
- Sarah (10/5): Very enjoyable stay - We had a lovely weekend away at this Inn. The room was spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Nice thick curtains that kept out most of the light. Powerful shower. We had a couple of meals and the food was excellent. Breakfast was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with our car and they let us stay longer in the room whilst we waited for the RAC. Would stay there again if I was in the area.
- Jacqueline (9/5): Heerlijk! Super vriendelijk en gastvrij, perfect verblijf gehad! - Gastvrij, goed eten, goede kamer met prima bed. Ligt aan een drukke weg
- Carolyn (7/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Bethany (8/5): -
- Chrystel (10/5): Comfortable and friendly with excellent breakfast - Comfortable room and excellent breakfast.
Evening meal at the pub was also very good Nothing
- Julia (8/5): Cosy, clean, comfortable, with reservations - A very cosy Inn, very comfortable room and bed. Next to the A40, but super double glazed so no noise. Pleasant restaurant, food, and host. Sadly 2 of 3 beers were off. Menu items unavailable. Barman unwelcoming. "Fruit" at breakfast was a tiny amount of defrosting pieces including kiwi which is an allergen. Please provide some fresh fruit!
- melanie (7/5): - I was told there was a £10 surcharge for bringing my dog which was not specified on the booking I received a lengthy email about the restaurant and what rooms were available no mention of the extra for a dog in a dog friendly accommodation. Maybe you could add this to your message which is sent on booking
- Andrew (9/5): -
- Pauline (8/5): Perfectly adequate room for a one night stay, simple basic but has all you need. - The room was very tidy, crisp clean sheets and a good clean bathroom. Arrived back to the pub at 10:45 and tried to order 5 drinks, to be told the pub was closing but we could drink in our room. Bit disappointing. Cold coffee at breakfast but breakfast generally was fine, plenty of choice.
- A (9/5): Enjoyed would stay again - Liked everything a village pub with rooms well run an very clean an friendly, good food and for a small pub excellent range of beers an ciders 0
- Twyla (10/5): Perfect place to stay! - It was such a cute place to stay. The breakfast was fabulous and the people was so nice. It was perfect. Don’t change a thing.
- Pam (9/5): 100% recommend staying here. Friendly owners and staff. Very close to our trip to Pen y Fan. - Very friendly staff. Food and breakfast were delicious. Room was comfortable with a lovely shower. Tea and coffee in the room and was topped up in the morning. Would go again and would definitely recommend staying here.

- Tom (9/5): Friendly pub with excellent food and great service - Great location for the Brecon Beacons. We were going up Pen Y Fan for an event and it was perfect - just 15 minutes.
Really friendly pub with superb staff. Rooms were great, really comfortable beds and plenty of space.
We ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant both days we stayed. The food was faultless - some of the best pub food we’ve had. Chips are next level and the breakfast black pudding was excellent.
- john (6/5): - A convenient stop on our way to Fishguard for the return ferry to Ireland. No mention in Booking information that the stair access to rooms might be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues.
Lighting in the room: there is no facility for turning on main or bedside lights from the bed.
Perhaps nitpicking, but no provision of tissues in the room.
- Chloe (9/5): -
