- Randi Gabric (6/5): Sikkert fint i varmt vær! - Greit sted, romslig Det var dårlig vær, og medførte at fasilitetene ble kalde. Måtte mase for å få ved til å holde varmen og fikk kun nok til noen få timer hver kveld. Det var ukomfortabelt. Aircon i soveromsdelen greide ikke mer enn den delen, resten var for kjølig til at det var greit. Inntullet i pledd var ikke det jeg hadde sett for meg.

- Jodie (8/5): Mooi verblijf op een prachtige locatie! - De ligging van de accommodatie is geweldig vanwege het uitzicht op de bergen. Het is er heerlijk rustig omdat het achteraf ligt. Wel wat verder van het centrum maar met uber is alles heel goed te doen. Het appartement was heel ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien! De communicatie was soms wat lastig. De aankomst ging rommelig doordat er niemand was en ook duurde het erg lang voor onze vragen werden beantwoord via whatsapp. Uiteindelijk is alles opgelost maar een puntje om rekening mee te houden.

Mosquitos and more mosquitos and some more. no spray, power tablets, cream nothing.... imagine the bzzzzzzzzz !!

- Alex (6/5): Breathtakingly beautiful, but communication with staff was unpleasant - I loved the location, view and room. Amazing ambience and so peaceful and quiet. Matthew was also lovely at checking us in. The person I communicated with to book the stay came across as quite rude. I was told check-in is only from 3pm (which I also think is much too late) and tried to organise dropping off our bags at 10am which we were told we could do. When we arrived no one was there, I messaged to ask what to do and was told quite condescendingly that check in was at 3pm. I obviously knew this already and repeated that we just wanted to drop our bags off. After waiting in the sun for 20 minutes we left to return for check in later. Fortunately due to the confusion we were upgraded to a luxury suite.

- Kathrin (8/5): Tolles Apartment in traumhafter Lage, aber… - Das Apartment 6 mit freiem Blick in die traumhafte Landschaft ist wirklich beeindruckend schön. Alles ist großzügig, das Bett sehr breit, Ankleidebereich und Badezimmer ‚um die Ecke‘ des Schlafbereichs und somit optisch getrennt. Wirklich toll und beeindruckend. Am (wirklich sehr kleinen Pool) stehen 6 Liegen, die sehr gemütlich ausgesehen haben, wir haben sie nicht genutzt. Die Parkplätze sind beschattet. Wir durften schon früher einchecken. Das war sehr entgegenkommend. Na ja, wenn ich Luxuspreise nehme, muss ich mich an diesen messen lassen und da ist noch Luft nach oben. Die, bereits von anderen Gästen, erwähnten Staubflusen wehten auch uns entgegen. Das kann passieren, man hatte sich beeilt, alles für uns herzurichten. Aber der junge Mann, der uns hereinließ, hatte es sichtlich eilig und verwies mich, auf meine Frage nach Besonderheiten auf den ausliegenden Zettel mit Nummern, wenn wir Feuer o.ä. sehen sollten. Schön wäre eine Erklärung über den speziellen Öffnungsmodus der, komplett zu öffnenden, Terrassentür gewesen. Diese hatte entweder einen Trick, der uns verborgen blieb oder war ein wenig defekt/verklemmt. Das Öffnen war jedes Mal eine Herausforderung. Und warum nur ein Zettel mit Anweisungen? Ein paar Tipps für die Umgebung hätten nicht geschadet. Zur Begrüßung gab es…. nichts. Der Kühlschrank komplett leer (eine kleine Milch, ich glaube für Kaffee. Bei den Preisen kann man dem Gast eine Flasche Wasser in den Kühlschrank stellen. Und mal ehrlich, auch eine Flasche Wein aus der Region, hätte das Gefühl gegeben, man sei herzlich willkommen. Da kommen wir zum nächsten Punkt. Woraus hätten wir den Wein trinken sollen? Es gab 3 Wasser- und 5 Biergläser. Darüberhinaus einen Frühstücksteller, aber immerhin 5 Essteller. Die mysteriöse Besteckanzahl lasse ich außen vor. Der Toaster war leider noch mit Brotkrümeln bedeckt und sah nicht sehr einladend aus. Auf der Terrasse wurde von jeglichen Sitzkissen Abstand genommen. Den Pool mochte meine Tochter nicht benutzen, der Boden und somit der Gesamteindruck war nicht sauber. Da half es auch nicht, dass während der 3 Tage, der Reiniger samt riesigem Schlauch im kleinen Pool war. Ich habe nicht herausgefunden, was er da gemacht hat. sauber jedenfalls nicht. Bei der Abreise waren wir auf uns gestellt. Es gibt keine Rezeption und niemand schien sich zu interessieren.

Het huis zelf is ruim van opzet en van alle gemakken voorzien. Fijne slaapkamers, goede (kleine) badkamers, een ruime woonkamer en een goed uitgeruste keuken. Het zwembad is lekker om even te ontspannen. Parkeren kan overdekt. De host LeeAnne is super vriendelijk en helpt je waar mogelijk met informatie en het boeken van een restaurant. Top service! -
- Vojtech Rousar (9/5): Mont Angelis was an absolute standout during our three-week trip through South Africa. - From the moment we arrived, the setting took our breath away. The views, the atmosphere, and the charm of staying on a farm in the heart of Stellenbosch made it feel truly special and unlike anywhere else we stayed. It was the kind of place where you slow down, breathe deeply, and just appreciate where you are. The accommodation itself was beautifully appointed and immaculately maintained. Everything felt thoughtful and considered, and it was clear that real care goes into the guest experience here. That small note aside, Mont Angelis was genuinely one of the highlights of our entire trip. We left already talking about coming back. Highly, highly recommended — don't hesitate to book. The only minor thing worth mentioning — and it really is minor given the context — is that the outdoor seating area attracted quite a few ants and insects. As a working farm surrounded by nature, this is entirely understandable, and future guests might want to bring insect repellent for evenings outside. My girlfriend did pick up a few sandfly bites, so a heads-up to sensitive skin types to come prepared!
- Ellen (9/5): Heerlijk verblijf om tot rust te komen - Prachtig gelegen accommodatie tussen de bergen en wijngaarden, wat zorgt voor een fantastisch uitzicht en een heerlijke rust. De aanrijroute van circa 2,2 km vraagt wat geduld: de weg bevat veel potholes, waardoor rustig rijden noodzakelijk is. Wij verbleven in een van de kleinere huisjes; daarin is duidelijk verschil merkbaar ten opzichte van de grotere verblijven. Ons appartement is desondanks ruim opgezet en voelt zeker niet klein. De badkamer is aan de minimale kant, maar functioneert prima. Wat we wel misten, waren praktische zaken zoals haakjes of een rek om handdoeken te laten drogen. Dit werd echter snel en adequaat opgelost. Wat sfeerverlichting in het zitgedeelte zou een mooie aanvulling zijn. Nu wordt de ruimte uitsluitend verlicht door heldere spotjes, wat functioneel is maar minder sfeer geeft. Het appartement is enigszins gehorig, maar er is geen moment sprake geweest van overlast. Het bed ligt uitstekend en de aanwezige airconditioning werkt vrijwel geruisloos. De gezamenlijke tuin is ruim opgezet en goed onderhouden, met verspreid meerdere tafels en banken waar gasten gebruik van mogen maken. De ligbedden bij het zwembad liggen heerlijk. Parasols hebben wij daar wel gemist, al stond er tijdens ons verblijf veel wind, wat hiervoor mogelijk een reden is. Wat wij bij ons huisje misten — iets wat ik overigens bij veel accommodaties in zonnige landen ervaar — zijn twee comfortabele buitenstoelen op het terras of balkon, in plaats van uitsluitend een tuin(eet)set. De grotere huisjes bij Mont Angelis beschikken wél over fijne loungestoelen, terwijl er op ons terras eveneens voldoende ruimte voor zou zijn. Zeker omdat je hier in de zomermaanden grotendeels buiten leeft, zou dit echt een meerwaarde zijn. Als eindoordeel geef ik Mont Angelis een 9 op een schaal van 1 tot 10. Als Nederlander heb ik wellicht een iets andere verwachting bij een ‘volledig ingerichte keuken’ dan hier het geval was. Qua apparatuur is de keuken compleet, maar in de kleinere inventaris ontbraken voor ons wel enkele basiszaken, zoals een schaar, een tweede kookpan, een ovenschaal en eierdopjes. Daarnaast was de verhouding bestek wat scheef: twaalf eetlepels en slechts drie vorken. Ook dit werd door LeeAnne voortreffelijk en snel opgepakt, wat wij zeer hebben gewaardeerd.

- Dr. Angela (10/5): Unglaublich schöne und sehr gut gepflegte Anlage inmitten der Weinberge um Stellenbosch - Wir haben ein Upgrade bekommen, hatten ein eigenes Häuschen. Die gesamte Anlage ist top gepflegt. Unglaublich tolles Pool mit Blick in die Berge und von Palmen umrahmt. Die Zimmer sind sehr gut ausgestattet. Wir hatten das Zimmer eines Künstlers, das gleichzeitig sein Atelier ist. Sehr geschmackvoll. Die sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Vermieterin ließ uns einen late Check-out machen, weil unser Flieger erst abends ging. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen. Stellenbosch ist mit dem Uber in 15 min. zu erreichen. Sehr viele Top-Weingüter in unmittelbarer Umgebung. Die Küche darf noch eine kleine Aufstockung erfahren. Gut wären eine Mikrowelle und ein Toaster. Aber das ist nur eine kleine Anregung. Insgesamt mehr als top. :-)

- Ellen (9/5): Een geweldige ervaring! - Geweldige locatie in mooie natuur en wijngebieden. Afgelegen en rustig. Ruim appartement met airco. Als we dan iets moeten verzinnen een iets ruimere badkamer.

- Ursula (9/5): Traumhafte Ruhe, tolle Ausstattung - Die Ausstattung unseres Häuschens für 4 war mega und wir hatten noch nie eine Self catering Einheit, die so überlegt angelegt war. Insbesondere der endlose Stauraum an Schränken und die kleine Spülmaschine fand ich toll. Zudem ist die Ruhe dieser doch etwas eher abseits gelegenen Unterkunft traumhaft. Zudem hat man uns unkompliziert einen späten Chech out ermöglicht, dass war sehr nett. Da es zwei Badezimmer gibt hätte ich auch zweimal einen Föhn gut gefunden und schön wäre je ein großes und ein kleines Handtuch pro Person gewesen. Am Pool war es während unseres Urlaubs leider sonnenbedingt nicht auszuhalten da die Schirme kurz vorher kaputt gegangen sind und noch nicht ersetzt waren.

No restaurants or food stores close by. 3) misleading information on booking.com. These rooms are far away from the manor house while the posting looks like they are together. No view of vineyards.

- Paul (7/5): All in all very good. - Location was excellent. Accommodation was spotless. There was a lack of kitchen cleaning supplies. Eg soap and sponge. Air con was hit and miss. Needed servicing.
- Frank (6/5): Erwartungen wurden nicht erfüllt - Schöne Lage, etwas abgelegen von Stellenbosch, sehr ruhig und sicher. Die Beschreibung des Apartments ist sehr irreführend. Mont Angelis zeigt für alle Wohnungen auf der Webseite, die Lage um einen Pool orientiert. Unser Apartment befand sich im Garagentrakt, auf der anderen Seite des Anwesens direkt neben dem Friedhof des Weingutes. Dieses wurde nicht erwähnt, wir hätten dann nicht gebucht. Der Preis war für die Leistung deutlich zu hoch, es wurde entgegen der Information bei Ankunft nicht geputzt. Der Aussenbereich war offensichtlich schon länger nicht gereinigt worden. Auf Rückfrage ob man den Pool benutzen dürfe wurde so zurückhaltend reagiert das wir direkt Abstand davon genommen haben.

- Anca (10/5): - We loved our stay here. The room was big and the view was so beautiful! It’s the perfect place if you are looking to disconnect since it’s very quiet. While it’s a 15 min drive to the city centre, we didn’t mind that. If you don’t want to drive the Ubers do come to the location. If we are ever in the area we would definitely stay here again.

- Mark (7/5): Superb location with beautiful views, but check in was a disaster and attention to details not there - Lovely location and well appointed rooms with lovely decor. Comfortable furnishings and just needs a little more attention to make it a must-stay. Communication. I sent a message and some of my questions were addressed. Then a second message and it was never answered. On the day of arrival, we tried calling and left voicemails, nobody picked up. We arrived and had no directions about how to check-in. There is no reception, and no indication prior to arriving of how one checks in at all. We eventually had a guest climb out of the pool to go back to there unit to get their phone to provide a cell number for the manageress, so we could get in. Incidentally, the guest who helped also said they had to wander around and there wasn't any clear way to check in. This needs to be addressed. I would strongly suggest picking up the phone and answering emails/booking.com messages and well ahead of time explain how to locate your unit and the access as well as the key etc... Standard practice should the wish be no human involvement. Please also provide a dishcloth and rag or two in the kitchen, there was nothing. There is no TV (this was in the ad) and the WIFI rejected the password provided. Only the 5G option worked and it was sketchy connectivity/poor. Also, we could hear our neighbors conversations through the walls, so not the best from a sound insulation point of view and they weren't being loud. The one side table had a lamp but wasn't plugged into a socket and there was no electric point that side, so basically just a fake lamp stand, which was irritating. Bathroom is very cramped and no way to use the extractor fan?
- GOPAUL (7/5): - The beautiful views and nature were stunning..The unit was self catering and all utilities were provided, the outdoor private shower, amongst nature was lovelyAs a dog lover,i enjoyed the visits from the dog. The unit is right at the foot of the mountain away from everyone,although there is an alarm system installed and we required assistance with understanding the process to arm the unit,we had no response but a voicemail. When the alarm malfunctioned twice due to our error,the alarm company came once.
- Frederik Crul (8/5): Super aangename verblijfsplaats in fantastisch landschap. - Uitzonderlijk mooie locatie in het midden van de wijnlanden op de flanken van de Helderberg, vriendelijke ontvangst, alles wat we nodig hadden was voorzien. We komen in de toekomst zeker nog terug. Badkamer was aan de kleine kant maar als het koppel elkaar goed kent dan is dit zeker geen probleem.

- Lelia (9/5): Superb - We really loved the view. We were in room 1B which had a good kitchen, great fireplace, lots of wood and folding sliding doors so we could look out at the beautiful mountains. Lee-Anne was very accomodating and brought us a few things that were missing from our cottage straight away. It was lovely to be able to have our students over for a home cooked meal. We had a little walk to the dam on the first day and Lee-Anne mentioned a plan to have a proper circular walk in the future which I think would be great. Loved the little pool for a freezing wake up swim. Some people would miss having a TV, but we didn't.

- Renier (6/5): Poor communication from management and booking us into the incorrect room ( showing very little care) spoiled it for us. - Location was good as close to Stellenbosch and Somerset West, along with being situated in a beautiful valley with mountain views. Communication was poor and not welcoming from management. We were also booked into the incorrect room for the first night.

Lee-Anne was such a great host. Thank you Lee-Anne you made us feel totally at home. There is nothing to not like.
