Guest Reviews
- Lynette (10/5): Indeed, a most memorable stay. - The property location and valley views were serene no matter what time of day.
We felt "at home" the moment the we turned the latch --- so welcoming to the eye.
The host kindly left a few basic food items in pantry enabling a cuppa to be enjoyed on the deck, before setting off to explore. A small kitchen clock / jar of Nescafe 43 Instant coffee / wooden spoon would have been helpful.
The conclusion of our stay came far too quickly!!
- Alma (8/5): - Location is great and the area is lovely with the farm animals around.
- Robb (8/5): -
- Jacqui (8/5): Serenity now! Beautiful peaceful property. - Peaceful , clean cottage with everything we needed. Only a short trip into town, it was great!
- RICHARD (6/5): Our stay was ok, but not worth the daily fee charged given the sorts of issues mentioned above. - Location was pleasant. The bathroom needs an extraction fan that works a lot better than the current one.
Bathroom heater not good enough.
Main bedroom column heater makes so much noise we felt it was dangerous to use.
- Kylie (9/5): Really nice cottage. Would recommend and stay again as it was very clean and comfortable. - Very nice cottage. Modern bathrooms and kitchen. Beds were comfortable and great contact/communication with owner.

- Susan (9/5): Lovely rural location but close to everything , plenty of room and very clean. - Lovely rural location but close to everything , plenty of room and very clean. The freight trains are loud. The horns at night are enough to wake you.
The kitchen has a slight slant, so kept feeling like I was in an angle when walking through.
Wooden floor had some raised nails that got caught on socks - we tried to fix them as we found them.
- Sharen (8/5): Very good -
- Fulcher (9/5): Great place to settle in for a couple of nights after flying from overseas to Launceston - Location is very peaceful
- Heath (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harley (6/5): pleasant but disappointing, - The house layout - clean - quiet comfy No tourist information, we had no idea of what todo and see in the area. It would have been helpful to supply information on local sites as we are from interstate,
Information on local events that was happening, while we where there would also have been appreciated.
Plus we only found out information on appliance on the last day, as they were stuck in a bottom kitchen draw under a pile of tea towels.
- Fulcher (9/5): Was a great place to stay when first arriving in Tasmania. 20mins from airport and semi rural and peaceful - Quiet rural location
- David (9/5): Superb - Peaceful location with accommodation very pleasant and kitchen well stocked with appliances. Lovely views from porch. Beds comfortable. Highly recommended Highly desirable to arrive at accommodation pre sunset. I arrived well after sunset and had to spend a little time to find the accommodation given the rural location and lack of street lights. Would have been nice if tea, coffee was readily available given the time I arrived.
- Rob (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Henley (10/5): Great place to stay - Quiet and spacious place, with a great natural view
- Glenn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (9/5): Fabulous vistas and lovely amenities - Views Train horns at 1.30am and 3am, but was good for a laugh
- Alma (8/5): Very good - Great Location. Very quiet. Everything we needed.
- Kenny (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing property
- Bill (9/5): Country comfort. - Nicely renovated farm cottage. Lovely country setting yet only about 15 minutes drive to Launceston central. Well equipped with everything you need. There were horses in the paddock next and sometimes came up to say 'hello'. Hot water took a long time to come through showers, just wait and it will come.
- Madeline (9/5): Excellent - Easy access tranquil location
- Andrew (10/5): Great location with that personal touch - The personal touches. Amazing place to stay.
- Jenny (10/5): Loved the property very much! Will definitely tell others. - I loved the modern look of inside the house, the amazing view outside, the kitchen which provided all that we needed, the clean and perfectly functioning bathroom, the bedrooms and beds. Overall very tidy and enjoyed our stay.
- Caroline (8/5): A peaceful location with beautiful views, yet close to all we wanted. Enjoy your stay we did. - Very easy to deal with property. Good facilities. Good location with lovely views. Our personal preferences would be to have had fans in the bedrooms to help with airflow and firmer pillows. The pillows may have been feather which is touch on allergies and asthma, but recognise others will love things just the way they are. A few cobwebs and daddy long legs but nothing that concerned us.
- Miriam (9/5): Quaint and quiet but still close to town. - The location was excellent. Tranquil, rural area with breathtaking views which we never grew tired of looking at. An interesting array of animals to watch, including a daily visit from a flock of turkeys, which was quite a surprise. Very peaceful, and yet only a few minutes drive from the city, Leichhardt Cottages provides the best of both worlds. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything we required to prepare our meals. The dishwasher was most appreciated. The beds were very comfortable. A couple of small issues were:
The lack of water pressure in cottage 2, which made all kitchen and bathroom tasks lengthy and frustrating. Showering in particular. Luckily, during our stay, the weather was extremely warm, but showering in cooler weather could be unpleasant, as there was insufficient water flow to keep warm.
A shower seat/stool in the en-suite bathroom would be a handy addition for any elderly/ disabled guests.
Plugs in the kitchen sink did not seal off well enough to stop the water from draining out of the sink.
All interior doors needed some oil on the hinges. While the squeaks added to the charm of the cottage, in the middle of the night, it was difficult to go from bedroom 2 to the bathroom without disturbing occupants in bedroom 1. Or for guests in bedroom 1 to access the kitchen without waking those in bedroom 2.
None of these inconveniences would deter us from returning in the future.
Overall, it was a most enjoyable stay and one of our favorites. I would definitely recommend it to others, and if the water pressure could be addressed, I would rate it 10/10.
- Janette (9/5): Superb - Sensational!
- Tracey (10/5): Exceptional - Highly recommended. A beautiful private cottage surrounded by gorgeous stunning countryside with amazing views from every window. Very clean with an awesome kitchen and bathrooms. This hidden gem is only a few minutes' drive from the city of Launceston and the airport.
- John (10/5): Very nice and the wildlife was amazing even a spotted quoll - Beautiful rural views, comfort, space and I was able to have my family visit. 👪 It was a great facility and I have no complaints
- Ross (9/5): Quaint country style accommodation with amazing views and well appointed facilities - The vista from the porch was amazing and we saw a gorgeous sunrise on our last day. The interior is modern and clean and all cooking facilities available. As a farm style, there were sheep and horses close by. There was nothing that i didn't like and was very happy with the facilities. The ensuites were well equipped with a bath in one and a walk-in shower in master bedroom.
- Stuart (10/5): great stay, would recommend - remote but not remote/quite and private nothing
- Edna (10/5): great cottage - super clean lovely outlook. loved looking out over the valley with all the animals grazing. close to Joseph Chromy Winery and facilities
- Christopher (9/5): to short - incredibly clean, spacious with a picturesque rural setting. nothing
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Great quite location. Beautiful views. Nothing!
- Anonymous (10/5): very spacious and clean - very spacious and clean
- Denice (8/5): A lovely quiet, relaxing and enjoyable stay over Christmas. Bird life visitors added bonus. - Great location, particularly for where I needed to be for family. Dining/kitchen area great to move around in (particularly when someone has a walker!) and good space and can look outside at the view. Wonderful view from the deck and enjoyed relaxing. Hosts were very helpful. Equipped kitchen among the best I have seen - great quantity and variety of sizes of pots and pans etc., plus other things that often are not found. I couldn't find any instructions for the stovetop or oven ... I did work it out, but my husband didn't! Instructions on use of these should be readily available. I would suggest that lounge furniture near patio be vacuumed regularly - a few ants (it is place in a bush setting), but problem easily solved by ant-rid, insect spray and a sweep - no more issues after that. Bathroom good, but tiles make the shower floor very slippery ... a worry when a guest is insecure on their feet. Grab rails in the shower would be a bonus addition to the bathroom.
- Sui (8/5): Very good - Full of Kitchen appliances and very clean Traps some fly and spider between the 2 layer windows, few spiders in the house but seems like cottage environment here
- Lissie (8/5): Very good -
- Arbaci (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional -
