Na dole bar bistro gdzie Pani Barbara (Polka) przygotowuje pyszne śniadania dopierając dla każdego coś na co ma się ochotę :) obsługa bardzo pomocna i miła, rozwiązuje problemy turystów od razu :) W barze bistro można zjeść pyszny obiad a i wybór win jest duży :)

• Alessandro (8/5): Bellissima vacanza - Chianalea è la zona "chic" di Scilla. Incantevole la località con scorci da favola, tanti servizi di ristorazione e qualche piccolo negozio di souvenir. Unico bar e negozio di alimentari del luogo il Casa Vela B&B. Chianalea è sprovvista di servizi come supermercati, panificio, tabaccherie ecc,. La struttura ha una scala ripida per salire non adatta a chi ha problemi di deambulazione.

Totally recommend this place to every - The elder couple working at the B&B were really kind, friendly, warm and courteous. The room was nicely big. The street was beautiful, and you can hear the gentle splashes of waves from the beach. The food at the B&B was amazing. Even though the room was clean, the toilet or the toilet brush was smelly. However, I loved everything else of the B&B, so just closed the bathroom and it was fine.

• Laura (7/5): Lovely authentic setting with great staff - The staff. so friendly they even carried my luggage up. A welcome drink and a croissant or cake in the morning with coffee. It’s such an authentic setting. Across is a lovely little shop with a well traveled gentlemen who is kind enough to feed the stray cats. There is someone who can take you to the train station with his puk puk for € 10 highly recommend. Note; this is a basic property but the location and the people make up for the minor things. Please not you cannot drink the water they have supply you with drinking water

Location is very nice and perfect to explore Scilla. The beach and the ocean are close. The apartment was comfortable and well-equipped with a kitchen. We had everything we needed. Unfortunately it was a bit poorly soundproofed. We were on the 2nd floor.

Не подходит для людей с чувствительным сном. Бар снизу работает до 00:30, сильно шумит бачок унитаза, ночью слышен шум то ли стиральной, то ли посудомоечной машины. Для тех, кто спит крепко (мой муж) - все идеально :) Завтрак вкусный, но однообразный и для нас был маловат.

• Carmine (5/5): bisogna migliorare! molto! perché oltre mille euro una settimana bisogna migliorare. insufficiente! - personale gentile e disponibile. 1-la pulizia della camera ha lasciato molto a desiderare... si sentiva la polvere nell'aria e sotto ai letti, condizionatore da pulire. 2-non c'è un mobiletto/armadietto per sistemare i panni. 3-se apri il balcone entra una puzza della cappa del pub sotto la stanza quindi intero soggiorno con balcone chiuso e niente vista mare com'era descritto al momento dell'acquisto.4-il bidet aveva una perdita... bagno sempre allagato. 5-non vi è spazio per stendere un'asciugamani e se le mettevi fuori al balconcino le riprendevi maleodoranti di frittura/puzza di cucinato.

My partner and I got the studio. Everything was nice and clean and it was a generous sized room with kitchenette, that had everything you needed. We didn’t have an issue with it. But if you’re no fan of stairs than this may be an issue.

The staff at the wine bar downstairs are very friendly and helpful, which made us feel at home. The cleaning service was nice :) Some lights didn't work, and hot water ran out quickly once. Was cold without the air conditioning in March (understandably so).

• Karen (10/5): We hope to return. - Our hosts are genuinely nice people who couldn’t have been more helpful. The view is stunning-we were on the third floor. A lovely breakfast is included downstairs in the wine bar. The neighborhood is charming and it’s an easy walk to the beach side of Scilla. We did not want to ever leave! There are 68 steps to the top floor which we didn’t mind at all but could be difficult if you have mobility issues.

• Nathan (7/5): That view!!! - Stunning views from deck area. Charming couple who go out of their way to be hospitable. Location is stunning. Beds were not comfortable and not all beds were made up. Sofa bed was really uncomfortable. On a hillside so lots of stairs and even more to get that view.
• Toby (10/5): - What makes Casa Vela great is the people running it. Barbara, Alessandro (great sommelier), Alessia and Natale. The nicest. Good breakfast and had a great dinner. The best location in sweet Chianalea. This is a hub for good drink and food and happy vibes.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Tricky hotel with lovel people - Lovely staff and wonderful location. Spacious room with kitchenette. Staff were so friendly and gracious. Nice little bar downstairs. Only issues are the water turns off every night at 10 p.m and stays off until morning. A pump made a loud noise every 12 minutes all night long until the water is turned back on. The hotel provides a couple bottles of water per night as the hotel water is not potable. The location is on the heart of old town which is pedestrian only, so it's a very long walk to the parking area.

• Hornchurch (10/5): Loved it! - Great location on a lovely street. The room was large, with a balcony with a seaview and a view of the castle, and very clean. Good sized fridge. Breakfast was exceptional and served in the wine bar, loved the lemon pastries! The food at the wine bar is also very good with lots of other good restaurants nearby which have platforms over the sea. Good location for the beach too (if you use the tunnel under the castle). Would definitely recommend. It was a long way from any supermarket.

• Lynda (9/5): Cosy stay in the heart of Scilla - Nestled in above and behind a wine bar with a separate entrance, lovely quiet comfortable room, well decorated and all amenities needed for a short stay. Great location and friendly welcoming staff. The breakfast did not work out as planned, perhaps we should have brought the menu down with us, but we don’t eat a huge amount anyway so wasn’t much of a problem for us. Would recommend and return:)
• Kate (9/5): Super apartment and location - The apartment was lovely. Very spacious and clean. We had a view over the rooftops to the sea. Nice breakfasts. The wine bar on the ground floor served excellent regional food and wine. People were very friendly and helpful. Location was good. In the old fishermen's quarter which is lovely but we could easily walk to the beach and the town. We knew that access to the apartment involved a lot of stairs. Unfortunately I found them challenging (I am not very steady). Some were very steep and a small section had no rail. We would love to go back but next time we will stay in one of the lower apartments!

The owner allowed us to stay in an upgraded room for the first couple of nights, which had an incredible view looking over the streets and the sea! Casa Vela has a wonderful wine bar attached to it with excellent food and drinks. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The staff are very kind and attentive! Scilla might be the most beautiful community in all of Italy, the people are warm and welcoming and there is a very laid back “tranquile” vibe. I highly recommend staying at Casa Vela and we cannot wait to come back again!

Kitchen was an added bonus. The whole team were really friendly and helpful which added to our overall experience. Great breakfast every morning. We ate at the restaurant which serves great food. Overall really enjoyed our stay here and will come back.
• Sonal (4/5): Just an overnight stay so it worked for one night. - Close to ferry and excellent views. Bare bones stuff- soap satchel, no hair drier. If the owner can make it more lively and put some investment in the property it will look great. Poor quality lightening and below average looking place. Felt like an old student dorm. Checking in was not smooth. Had to call the host using my international number to make local call for them to come and check us in.

I can also recommand the restaurant There was some confussion about the parkings. In fact best is to stop at the parking north (5 minutes walk) and after check-in place the car on the free parking south (15 minutes walk and going up and down). Also for breakfast (there is alarge choice) it was not clear if you had to choose or could combine multiple things.

• Alexandre (9/5): I'd tour the world with Casa Vela's management and service. - Staff was awesome. Very attentive, ready to accompany you to medical emergency services (my wife had a strong reaction to an insect bite in her lip), and prompt at providing indications and helping any way they could. Location, just a 15-minute walk from Marina di Scilla, which is a gorgeous bay surrounded by a green valley, with the clearest purest sea water (beware of medusas!). Room was spacious enough, an "open space" bedroom with kitchen and dining room, fridge and freezer. Mattress was perfect. Most vacation places we booked in the past, mattresses were too soft. Theirs was just perfect. The head of the bed was quite original (a door!). They also have a bottega with local food specialties (I was very pleasently surprised with their arancino al pesce spada). Breakfast was good, as was dining (swordfish hamburger and other plates were really yummy). Let's talk coffee: It was awful EVERYWHERE, not just Scilla but Tropea as well. I'm a fan of Colombian and Mexican coffee, but I can usually drink any coffee blend they have in italian bars. Maybe it was the heat, but every cup I tasted in Scilla felt as if they'd roasted the beans with a flamethrower (espresso machine included). Cappuccino was pretty decent at Casa Vela though!

• Susan (8/5): ok for a couple of nights. - Excellent location and staff were very helpful. Good basic facilities, kitchen needed dishwashing detergent. Premises were clean and spacious, fresh towels and comfortable bed. Terrible mouldy smell that was present all the time.
