- NyCTimms (10/5): Perfect Location with Excellent Service - Times Square Edition - We stayed at the Times Square Edition and had a wonderful stay. The location is perfect for exploring NYC and within walking distance to many highlights. The concierge and attendants were friendly, attentive, and very helpful throughout our visit. Our room was spacious, spotless, and comfortable, with a great view facing Times Square. We highly recommend this hotel for visitors who want a central well appointed hotel with excellent service.
- PinecrestJohn (4/5): my room was not available - I had reservations for two nights and received an email from the manager at 3PM, shortly before arriving, which started "good morning" and then went on to say that my room was not available and that they had booked me a room in the nearby W. This has not happened to me in over 40 years and there was no explanation. There was an apology and they paid for my room for one night, but I was not pleased. Be forewarned.
- Z5838VGangelaw (6/5): Wanted to Love the EDITION Brand — Left Underwhelmed - I recently stayed at The Times Square EDITION as a travel advisor wanting to personally experience the EDITION brand in one of the world’s most exciting cities, and unfortunately, I left disappointed. The biggest positive of this hotel is unquestionably the location overlooking Times Square — it truly is incredible and puts you right in the heart of everything. I also appreciated the complimentary daily water and found the bellmen to be consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the stay. That said, the overall quality did not match the premium EDITION reputation or price point. The room was extremely small, which I understand is common in NYC, but more concerning was that it did not feel particularly clean, fresh, or well-maintained. The accommodations lacked the elevated luxury feel I expected from this brand. The hotel provided a daily $40 credit, which initially sounded generous, but it barely covered two drinks at the bar that totaled almost $80. The pricing across the property felt excessive for the level of quality and experience delivered. As someone in the travel industry who was genuinely excited to experience and potentially recommend this brand, I expected far more refinement, value, and attention to detail. While the location and some service touches were excellent, the overall experience fell short of expectations.

Negatives: Bathroom is “part of the room.” Noise level was incredibly high - making it very difficult to sleep at night. This is the outside noise (sirens, construction) as well as noise with adjacent rooms.

Also, terrible lack of privacy in the rooms with only frosted glass for the toilet wall.
- L7943GIemmai (8/5): Generally a nice hotel. Some staff could be more friendly/helpful - Hotel definitely has a boutique feel. Rooms are minimalistic, look lovely. Some staff are great and friendly some are not. Not much storage in rooms but that didn’t matter for us as only staying a few nights. Room did have a view of Times Square which was great but did mean the room was quite light and there quite noisy. My main issue was that some staff were not particularly friendly and this let the hotel down. When we arrived with heavy bags no one offered to help or even smiled as we walked in. On reception nothing was explained his main concern was getting my credit card. He gave us the room key and we had to ask where to go. Went back to reception later to ask about dining options etc and the person was much more helpful. Similar experience in the bar on floor 9 first night staff not particularly friendly but other nights in the lobby bar they were great.
- Red_Dolphin-Media (2/5): Titanium Returning Guest - Memorable Terrible Service - Titanium member who returned for one night in April 2026 after my last stay in 2024. Service lacked again as it did then. No upgrade offered (higher floor in narrow room) so I asked to pay for one and got a nice balcony suite for the extra $200 plus tax which was well worth it. Service is cold. At check in I was told I had a "$40 credit" that could be used on anything at the hotel but the minibar. I specifically asked if it could be used toward breakfast and was told yes (I assume the agent who checked me in knew I was only there one night since he confirmed that). I had breakfast day or check out and sure enough no credit applied and when I asked I was told I was "confused" and that it never applies to date of departure. I wasn't sure told that and specifically asked if it could be used toward breakfast and told yes. A manager named Dylan told me he would credit it due to the "guests" confusion. Very rude. I was on the 37th floor and as others said, it is noisy until the late hours of the evening. I am a heavy sleeper so I didnt mind. Shower was very nice and AC worked very well - bed very comfortable. If they stopped managing the hotel with management that belongs at a Motel 6 I would gladly return again. Until then this is a no for me and I don't recommend as there are many other nice places even less expensive than this in NYC and Times Square that don't try to cheat their customers and call them "confused" later. Do better Marriott!
- Seng100 (8/5): Edition located next to Times Square - Visited for 2 nights to attend to a venue on the west side. Hotel is located off Times Square with all its attendant benefits and woes (loud, busy safety); I did not mind it. Arrival was met promptly and professionally by the front door staff who directed me to the lobby (located on the 10th floor). You are made to become aware of a distinct aroma in this property that I suspect will engender different opinions - I did not care for it. Check-in was efficient and friendly; assigned room was on a high floor (thankfully as one can still hear the noise from the street at night). It was very small (not unexpectedly) but functional and arguably a trifle expensive - given the rather standard amenities. Room was largely functional viz., lights, climate control, wifi etc. The bed was very comfortable and shower provided more than adequate water pressure. Partook breakfast in restaurant (located on 9th floor that required 2 elevator rides) - which was very good in a nicely furbished/decorated restaurant but crazy expensive ($55 for eggs, meat + latte). I also did not care for the $40 "destination fee" that I was only able to take advantage of for 1 of the 2 days I stayed. Overall, I think this is a nice property if you are keen to be close to Times Square. It makes an effort to exude a sense of luxury - but that is not commensurate with the room rates.
- divine2402 (6/5): Mixed Experience Despite Ambassador Status - Check-in was smooth and my husband’s Ambassador status was acknowledged; unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ended. Despite availability of rooms facing Times Square, no room upgrade—or even a room with a view—was offered. For a property at this price point and brand level, that was disappointing. The room itself was impractical. Electrical outlets are extremely limited: in a double room, only one side of the bed had a single outlet, forcing a choice between charging a phone or plugging in a CPAP machine. This is a significant oversight. Storage is also lacking. The closet is very small, and once winter coats are hung, there’s virtually no space left for anything else. The bathroom is equally undersized and felt incomplete, with the shower door missing. The nightstands don’t have drawers, further limiting functionality. While the hotel has a modern aesthetic, it ultimately feels style-forward with cost-cutting details that detract from comfort. Overall, it looks upscale at first glance, but the experience doesn’t align with the Marriott EDITION brand standards we expected.

Our anniversary stay was made special with attention to every detail. We had outstanding service. Our sincere gratitude to exceptional Kunchok in Guest Experience, gracious Front Desk Shah and Danny, knowledgeable Concierge John and efficient and wonderful bar attendant Joseph. We thank the entire team for our special memories. Kudos to upper Management for their great leadership! We highly recommend this property.
- BobBri49 (10/5): Outstanding service from The Edition hotel, Times Square, New York City - We had a terrific stay as usual. The reason for a 5 rating is the exceptional service from the staff. Kunchok in guest services, Shay and Danny on the front desk, John the concierge, John at the front door, Joey the waiter in the bar, and the chambermaids, all made us feel so welcome and appreciated. The entire staff made this stay very special. Congratulations to upper management for hiring a caring staff and setting the tone for outstanding service.
- X1680KQandrewk (8/5): The Times Square EDITION (New Year’s Eve tradition with a few quirks) - I’ve stayed at The Times Square EDITION every year since it opened in 2019—always for New Year’s Eve, plus a few days before and after—typically in one of the family/terrace suites with additional rooms for family and friends. It’s become a genuine tradition for me, and overall I keep coming back for one simple reason: the terraces overlooking Times Square are absolutely spectacular. If you book a terrace facing the square, the balconies are impressive and genuinely special—especially on NYE. You can see the stages and soak up the energy of Times Square from a private perch. (Worth noting: the balcony angle doesn’t give you a view of the ball drop, but for me the stage views and the atmosphere still make it a uniquely memorable experience.) Another reason the hotel feels truly “luxury” is the people. Many staff members have been here since opening, and that continuity shows. It’s rare to find a team that consistently makes you feel recognized and welcomed year after year—and in my case, several staff remember me by name. Jerome on the bell staff deserves a special shoutout: beyond handling bags and a few delivered packages, he went above and beyond in a practical way that mattered—helping us get a larger wardrobe rack. (The closets in the rooms are extremely small, which becomes a real issue when you’re staying multiple days with multiple people.) That said, the experience isn’t perfect, and a few things feel out of step with the price point: • In-room tea is oddly absent. There’s coffee, but no tea setup. On day one, Jerome proactively arranged tea with no charge (great service). On day two, when I requested tea again, I was charged $19.91, and they brought a different tea than I asked for. To the hotel’s credit, once I flagged it, they corrected it quickly and comped the room service charge—but the inconsistency was frustrating. • Room service is underwhelming compared to the on-property restaurant/bar. The restaurant and bar menu is much more extensive, while the in-room dining menu felt lackluster. I also found it annoying that they wouldn’t allow off-menu ordering for room service. The one workaround: the bar did allow me to carry an oyster platter up to my room, which I appreciated (even if it’s a slightly funny workaround at a luxury hotel). • No welcome amenity—ever. This one stands out. Despite being Marriott Ambassador Elite, a repeat guest since opening, and someone who routinely books the expensive terrace suites plus additional rooms, I have never received a welcome amenity. For a hotel in this category, that’s unusual. • Elite happy hour may be gone. The hotel used to offer an elite happy hour, but I don’t believe they’re still doing it. • Room condition is showing wear. For a relatively new property, the rooms feel a bit rough around the edges: noticeable scuffing on floors and cracks in sink fixtures—small details, but they add up when you’re paying top-tier rates. • Gym hydration setup is strange. The gym doesn’t offer bottled water, though it does have a multi-option spigot (still, sparkling, chilled, and hot). Functional, sure—but it’s an odd mismatch for the luxury positioning. On the positive side, the hotel does get some details very right. I love the in-room floral arrangements—my room had a beautiful orchid—and those small touches help elevate the stay. Final thought: I fully intend to stay again (clearly—I’ve made this my NYE home base). The terraces and the best members of the staff are what make the EDITION feel special. But for anyone booking a standard, non-suite room: be aware that you’re paying luxury prices for a space that can feel Moxy-sized, and there are other hotels at this price point that offer more room. Bottom line: An iconic Times Square balcony experience with standout staff and a few persistent quirks that feel surprisingly easy to fix.
- texanaya (2/5): FIND ANOTHER HOTEL - DO NOT STAY IF YOU VALUE YOUR BELONGINGS - ITEMS STOLEN FROM HOTEL ROOM! - Medication - Jacket - Various electronics - Collectables - Other medical and personal items As part of Marriott's investigation, They confirmed that only the medication was recovered. Unfortunately, the remaining items were not located. Their investigation has concluded, and although I share your frustration, I regret to advise you that The Times Square EDITION cannot accept responsibility. Occurrences of this nature are addressed by the Innkeepers Statute for NY. In short, a hotel owner is under no obligation for the loss of items left behind, theft, or unexplained disappearance of guest’s money, jewelry, or valuable property, which has not been placed in the hotel’s custody for safekeeping. Notification to this effect is posted inside each guest room as well as in other common areas of the hotel as prescribed by law. Therefore, we will not be reimbursing you for the loss. WHAT A JOKE! - 968mollieh (4/5): Great location - However reception staff took advantage, double charging for damages deposit. - The hotel location is fantastic, located in the centre of Times Square & a room with a view was fantastic! However, the service was really not good from the reception team. When I arrived I was requested to pay an extortionate amount of money, $1500 as a deposit for damages which I explained I was not comfortable paying with absolutely no prior notice. The member of reception managed to get this down to $800 which I agreed too - however they then took this payment TWICE which meant it was even more than the original payment they wanted from me. I went down to the reception to make them aware, where Kelsey told me I needed to come back the next day to speak to accounting to see if they can release the payment. I went back the next day and was told again, I needed to go back the next day for accounting. I then spoke to Talia from customer relations who assured me they would get this sorted and contact me via email to keep me updated. This was over a week ago and I still have had no contact & one of the two payments is still being held, plus an additional £250 has been taken from my account which I assume is the $40 a day service charge. Considering the reputation the hotel has and the cost, I am so disappointed in the service and the consistent amount of false promises from the members of the reception staff. I’m not entirely sure if this was intentional due to the dispute with the original payment price, however it’s not an acceptable thing to do to one of your guests. As mentioned above I am still waiting for someone to be in contact & for the £600 payment to be released back to my account. Please go vigilant & be aware of over & double charged by the reception staff.

Perfect location , staff you absolutely faultless and couldn’t do enough for you , Hotel is absolutely spotless as are the rooms ! Very modern and chic and honestly faultess! Right in the heart of Times Square , we were on the 26th floor wasn’t loud or bright heard the occasional siren but what do you expect with a Times Square view room ! Would 100% recommend this hotel too anyone.

- asmythie (4/5): Save your money, stay elsewhere. Amenity fee beyond usual scam. - Save your money and stay at the Westin or the W nearby. Or splurge and stay at the St. Regis. This is an in-between hotel that doesn't offer anything special, just like the other Edition in NYC. Small room, compared with similarly priced NYC hotels. They have one of the usual B.S. "amenity fees." The amenity? $40.00 off at their overpriced restaurant. But wait, there's less... they didn't apply the credit to my lunch. When I called to complain, they explained that it doesn't apply for day of checkout. I would have had to use it when I arrived. (One night stay.) They didn't tell me that when I checked in. Amenity fees are scams in the first place. Even worse when they don't explain it.

And the team were focussed on giving an experience you will never forget ! - I didn't know where I was staying until I arrived as was a surprise from my husband for our anniversary of our engagement. Alan looked after us on arrival after a long flight, he was amazing so switched on, explained everything I didn't even think we needed to know, I was disappointed that we never seen him again on our trip. I could not fault any member of the team they clearly have great guidance from someone, I don't want to say above as I think collabrotive !! The location is one that tops locations of world travel, this was also helped by our balcony overlooking Times Square. One downside is the noise however it is a good job I can sleep through anything, thank you all x
- Camper743508 (10/5): Lovely kind people - Really lovely hotel. We paid for a Times Square view balcony corner room and it’s a beautiful, unique experience. The hotel was almost sold out but our platinum status was recognized and we received a premium corner room that was oversized. At check in the gentlemen was kind, expeditious and thoughtful- noting our daughter asked if we needed a rollaway. He noted we paid a resort fee but that we received a $40 credit and free moma tickets which was a lovely surprise. We arrived at 11am so it was not unreasonable that our room was not ready. The front desk team suggested lunch in their terrace restaurant which was just lovely. Johnny the bellman kept our luggage safe, also made sure we had all that we needed and was kind and quick in bringing our bags! Elevators are fast (if you’ve stayed at the Marriott you know why I mention this). We’ve stayed at the Moxy, st Regis, luxury, renaissance and the Marriott, this might be our favorite.
- Getaway45137618979 (8/5): Great for solo stay - Great service from the doormen as soon as I arrived and throughout my stay. I checked into a room on the 25th floor which was too noisy from Times Square below and they were very accommodating to move me to the 38th floor on the side of the building. If you are a very light sleeper, this hotel probably isn’t for you but totally fine for regular sleepers. The rooms are small so I personally wouldn’t recommend for a couple - there is almost no privacy when going to the bathroom and the storage is limited, so only enough for one person. Staying here solo though it was great and I would definitely return.

Hotel in desperate need of a refurb, my tiny room looked like it was a furnished from an Ikea catalogue in 2005. I paid over $800 a night for what is basically a 3 star hotel at best. AVOID.

- everlast_34 (10/5): A Fabulous Experience All Around! - The Times Square Edition is a fabulous hotel and great place to set yourself up for a weekend in the city. It's perfectly situated right in Times Square (which can be a bit loud and bright of course) with everything you could need or want just steps away. Both our room and the entire property is immaculately clean. Our room was bright, beautiful, and perfect in every way. Every single staff interaction we had was enjoyable, and they truly make you feel like they want you there. The hotel lobby bar was a great evening hang out too - shoutout to Brandon at the bar! He makes fabulous cocktails and wonderfully carried on conversation - he really made our trip more enjoyable! Next time we're in the city, we'd absolutley stay here again. Thank you!

The front desk is very friendly and generous and accepted me checking in early with an upgraded room. The room is slightly smaller than average hotels nearby, but well maintained and looks warm and relaxing. The Time Square view is fascinating but becomes too crowded at midnight and may be disturbant for some.

But, our experience here was SO wonderful all the way around, that I am compelled to write a review. We came over from NJ for a 3 day Theatre marathon, and some nice dining and wine. When we checked in, it all began. Incredibly welcoming, friendly and accommodating. I am upset that I did not make sure I got his name....but guess what? It doesn't matter, because every single person, at every level for every reason, were incredibly nice and helpful. We have traveled extensively out of the country and all around in our 65+ years. We have never felt so welcomed, appreciated and taken care of even without asking. How ANY review would call the Edition unfriendly, or uncaring or whatever, should be ignored as "one of those" customers. I am dead serious. Wonderful experience all the way around. It felt like a 5 star hotel. And we felt like 5 Star Customers. NOTE: We reserved the hotel with our Chase Sapphire RESERVE card, which came with lots of perks. BUT, no one except the front desk would know that. Every single person treated us like we were regulars, but we had never been there before. Whoever is the manager, must be extraordinary to work for or with. This hotel staff should be giving lessons on how to treat customers. Unbelievable.......::::applause:::::
- deepas2024 (10/5): Great service and amazing location - I wasn’t sure what to expect given some of the reviews. The service at the hotel makes up with any concerns r later to the size of the room. From the bell desk, front desk and lobby bar the service blew us away. Our past stay was at the luxury collection and the rooms there are a great size so we were nervous about the smaller rooms but the service at this hotel makes up for all of it. Also the rooms have a clean modern feel. The lobby bar makes the best espresso martinis. The most helpful concierge and bell hops I have ever encountered. We will definitely be returning.

The view from our room was absolutely stunning you can see all of Times Square, especially if you’re on a higher floor. I requested a high-floor room, and the team was very kind and gave it to us with no extra charge. Everyone on staff was friendly and professional, and the atmosphere overall was calm and elegant. It’s a great choice for couples looking for a romantic stay right in the heart of NYC. Highly recommend!

- Jewelsy1000 (10/5): Perfect Central Oasis - I felt compelled to write a review as I almost didn't stay here based on a few of the reviews I had read online. I would definitely recommend the Times Square EDITION and would stay again next time I am in NYC. The location is perfect - right there in Times Square but tucked between 7th/6th so easy to turn east and avoid the chaos. Really close to the subway too. The staff is amazing. Lots of staff at the door, at the desk, at the ready. They helped us get 2 rooms that worked for our differing needs (1 w double beds, 1 w a view) on the same floor (thank you to the patient woman who books the rooms!). Housekeeping folded my girls' clothes every day (sorry housekeeping!). Room service was fast, friendly and delicions. The concierge was very helpful (4th of July planning). The rooms are super comfy and have the best beds and every amenity you could need. They are NOT huge but they are cozy and it is NYC. I would take modern, new, clean, high end over big and mediocre any day. We did not hear any noise on the 28th floor either facing Times Square or the other side. I love the aesthetic from the steel doors, plaster walls and giant green globe in the entry to the bleached wood floors throw carpets and low beds in the guest rooms. I like to stay in Marriott properties, and I thought the Ritz CP was my favorite in Manhattan but I think I will choose the TS EDITION in the future based on its easy location, better pricing, cool aesthetic and amazing service. - qingziw (10/5): Time Square worth to stay - 时代广场艾迪逊： 看网上都是“抨击”房间小的，确实没错，确实很小。比较了一圈差不多的地理位置（主要博物馆都集中在这个区，以及地铁线路众多），还是考虑性价比，选择了Edition。每晚每个房间是40🔪destination fee，到了布鲁克林的酒店就变成25🔪了，应该是每个酒店自己定的，有一说一，真的高啊！说说实际层面， 2025年6月20日入住了三天，大床/标间各定一间，价格差不多，没有升级房型，但是延迟到了下午4点退房。 价格差不多在4500rmb,当天看网上只要3000rmb（不含早餐），但是我的package里包含了100🔪旅行社餐券+40🔪酒店餐券，也就是一天除了早餐package外还有140刀的额度。因为两个房，基本上就没有外出吃饭了，午餐、sunset mune、晚餐、酒吧都去体验了。（近期餐厅时间点见图所示） 如果假设下午4点到餐厅，5点结束set mune，但不影响，可以继续点晚餐（不像有的地方会清场）。如果为了更好地使用package,可以在结账时要求服务员对半分账单。 早餐就有牛扒，推荐“skinny white frittata"。健身人的心头好，是纯蛋白无油里里面卷着菠菜煎的，配一杯冰美式，完全没压力！还有“truffled eggs benedict“，中间的truffle和面包片一样大，夹着火腿，馅料太足！ sunset mune推荐一个菜单上没有的甜点，36🔪，是有一个现场展示环节。会淋朗姆酒到甜点上增香，最后再淋上巧克酱，还很有观赏性。 晚餐一定推荐！！羊排！！力推，本来第二天想吃的，可惜中午没有这个菜。 晚上酒廊生意很好，坐的吧台比较有氛围感，虽然出品都谈不上精致，还是比较符合酒店定位了。 关于客房服务：并不是所有菜单都可以叫，主要是简餐和鸡尾酒、葡萄酒为主，还有5🔪的送餐费和10🔪的小费，最好还是自己下9楼吃。 关于外卖：可以叫外卖，虽然前台说可以送到房里，但是可能会设置小费。看到其他客人也是自己到楼下拿的，可以留言让外卖员放在一层，然后自己去拿。昨晚NBA G7决赛，点了个火锅美滋滋，不如国内的但是分量已经超出预期了。 入住期间有免费提供MoMa的门票，当天出门前让前台打印就可以了，有二维码，在入场时出示二维码即可。注意在goolemap或者Moma官网确认营业时间，走路的话15分钟左右步行即到。 入住率挺高的，有结婚和私人聚会，应该是被安排在7楼的酒吧，正好去的这个周末被预定了私人活动。 最后！健身房（24h刷卡进入）真的很出片，一定要日出或者日落的时候去，器械不算太多，该有的还是有（这种地段没有pool）
- efpub (10/5): Excellent stay at The Edition Times Square - Everything was very nice at The Edition - our first time staying at a property from this Marriott brand. The room design was a nice minimalist style. Everything was working well in the hotel and the room (except one USB port - no biggie). The Times Square view was very interesting. The Times Square location was convenient, although trying to drive in and drop off luggage late at night was the usual NYC challenge. The stay overall was excellent, and The front desk, bell staff and concierge were very helpful. I would stay here again if a reasonable room rate were available at the time. I can think of some minor things, but nothing that took away from the stay. Self-park arrangements were available with a discount for hotel guests, but this information, and the process to claim it, were not documented on the hotel/Marriott websites, nor in the Marriott app, so I'm glad I used the app to ask the hotel about parking up front, or else I would have had no idea. In that vein, information about some hotel services like the hours for the Terrace restaurant had info in the app, but that did not agree with the hours list on the website that the app sends you to if you click, and that did not agree with the info that the QR codes in the room led to, so that's just silly - and slightly annoying. I'm sure the folks on-site in the hotel don't make those changes to keep things up to date, but someone should be. The $40 fee each day was expected, but restrictive - apparently it has to be used the NIGHT you check in or in other words by the time room service closes at 2:00 AM, or else you lose it, so checking in late at night doesn't leave much room to use it. If the length of a day of my stay starts in the evening and continues until check-out time, why isnt the credit valid for the same period (and in the middle of a multi-day stay, each day is 24 hours long). Most people want to use their credit for breakfast, since all Edition hotels don't extend free breakfast benefits to Platinum Bonvoy members, but on the morning of checkout, the $40 food and beverage credit is no good. Having to verify the folio at checkout to ensure the credits were applied is not a lot of fun, but necessary. There's a credit for the F&B credit on one of the two rooms we had, but not the other, and only for one day, since apparently the credits come 'off the top' of each transaction so otherwise they don't appear on the folio, so you have to check each transaction to see if it was applied there. Lots of work there for guests. An excellent benefit also available from the $40 fee was free tickets to the Museum of Modern Art for up to two people for each day of your stay, which we took advantage of -- good thing I looked at the fine print on the little card that came with our keys that mentions this. The ice cream sundae in the Lobby Bar was really good. :-)

Friendly service at front desk, in the lobby bar and at street level (very helpful in getting you to your Uber or cab on a super congested corner). Room is nice size for NYC and sparkling clean with nice amenities. Asked for quiet room and got one (won't come with a view though). Terrace restaurant was lovely. Would stay again.

- Veronika (4/5): - Not a good stay. Staff was extremely rude except for housekeeping. First you have to wait in a long line to get in the elevator to access the lobby to check in. At check in we were the only people at the desk but the staff seemed very disinterested in helping us at all. I asked to have my Marriott Bonvoy number added to the reservation and the front desk staff loudly groaned and said “that’s a process, go do it yourself”. The restaurant and rooftop garden were closed for private events the whole weekend of our stay. The only other common area is a very small lounge just off reception. When we asked (at 11am) if we could just quickly see the rooftop garden overlooking Times Square (a selling point for this hotel) we were rudely told no by the staff. Our room was clean and housekeeping was very friendly. However, the doors to the rooms have a design flaw and if you let the door swing closed the deadlock will trigger and lock you out of your room. Maintenance staff must be called to let you back in. Apparently this happens a lot at this hotel. We were returning from a long successful night at the Tony Awards and had to wait in the hallway outside our room for a half hour for maintenance to let us in our room. When I commented to one of the bellman about the very long wait for the elevators to get in and out of the hotel his response was to snap back in an aggressive tone that I “should stay at a different hotel”. I agree and will stay at a different hotel in the future.

Enjoyed other aspects of stay; TWA hotel, downtown, Macy’s, MOMA, etc. A journey through the past for us from the point of view of the present.

I realize this in nyc and I travel there Quite a bit and would have not been that bothered except a staff member aggressively tried to enter our room at 2 am opening the door and banging it repeatedly against the safety device even though door was double locked. They become belligerent when I told Them the room was Occupied and then came back 5 min later and tried again. I was Getting upset and finally they Left. I should have called downstairs but guess I was a bit surprised and disoriented from being woken up at 2 am. About 10 Min later front desk called , apologized quickly And hung up. Besides that unpleasant experience I found overall service rude and lacking and would not go back to that hotel.

- imshawnnotsean (10/5): Wonderful secret garden getaway in the middle of the big city. - I treated my husband to a surprise vacation to NYC over Memorial Day weekend, and I am over the moon happy that I splurged and booked a room at The Times Square EDITION. To make our arrival extra special, the staff was very helpful in arranging a bottle of prosecco and divine chocolate treats to be in the room when we checked in. It was a welcomed luxury after a long day of travel from the west coast. Overall, the hotel was 10s across the board! • I love the modern minimalist aesthetic of the rooms, and the view of Times Square was fantastic. • I got tickets to a couple Broadway shows that were a short walk from the hotel so the location was super convenient for a theatre-focused trip. • I love the inconspicuous entrance off of Times Square. It had a luxury speakeasy feel that made it feel like a secret modern magical garden getaway that's smack dab in the middle of it all. • The complimentary MoMA passes were a nice surprise. It was a little rainy and gloomy one day so we changed plans from wandering around Central Park to a visit to the MoMA and we loved it! - josephbL2327KT (10/5): Quiet stay in Times Square - Great hotel--it is in Times Square, and if you have to be in Times Square, this is a very peaceful place to be. The whole vibe of the hotel is modern and minimal and peaceful. The garden and the restaurants are nice and the living room/meeting area is cozy. The staff are very attentive and polite and helpful. Everything seemed very seamless. The rooms were minimal and well-designed. The bathrooms are clean and modern and luxurious--they are packing a lot into a very small square footage. Great stay.
- Elizabeth (6/5): - The hotel itself was very nicely decorated, clean, and comfortable. However, the service was not very good. Although check-in time was 4 pm, our room was not ready until after 6 pm. They offered a voucher to make up for it, but we only found out when we checked out that it could not be used on the day of departure. The food was ok, but VERY expensive.

The room was stunning: fresh, clean, and beautifully designed with all the comforts you could want. It felt like a calm, luxurious retreat right in the middle of the city. The location couldn't have been better — right in the heart of Times Square, walking distance to everything we needed. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting New York. - Venture59597942245 (2/5): Poor sound and light blocking. No sleep - The room was well furnished and modern. Nice amenities BUT it was sooooo loud and so bright from the lights and sound on Times Square. Music was blaring and sounded like it was in the room or next door. The black out drapes were insufficient. Two nights and could barely sleep. Terrible.
- SharonA259 (2/5): Terrible sleep experience - Terrible experience for a Bonvoy Platinum member. When checking in, we were asked if we minded a queen room and if we didn’t, we could check in early. I assumed we’d be getting a perk because we had an elite status. I asked if it was near the elevator or an ice machine, I explained that noise interrupts my sleep. The answer I was given was, we don’t have ice machines. We were put on the 40th floor, next the the elevator, with an air conditioner that comes on once every minute, like the motel 6 I used to stay at when I was 19. Worst night of sleep ever in NYC.

There are two bars, along with an outside terrace on the 10th floor. We will stay there the next time we are in NYC.

- Rachel (10/5): Wonderful Stay! - We had an excellent experience at this hotel. The location is unbeatable—central to everything and easy to get around. The concierge team was incredibly helpful with great local recommendations and made us feel well taken care of throughout our stay. The car service was a real bonus—comfortable, punctual, and a great help for Amtrak transfers and sightseeing. We also really enjoyed the food; everything we tried, from breakfast to dinner, was fresh and flavorful. The only minor issue was that the shower never got as hot as we’d like, but it wasn’t a major inconvenience. Overall, we’d absolutely return and recommend this place without hesitation.
- mattbU2202RF (6/5): Not Ideal but OK - First off, the $40 nightly charge even as Marriott Gold Members is offensive. Just raise the nightly rate by $40 and stop the nickel and dime game. Second, at an all in total of $600 a night with taxes and fees, I would have expected a cleaner room. Random hairs in the bed and mildew build up in the shower is not acceptable at this price point. A non responsive call to the front desk was also a waste of time. The front desk person that checked us out was super friendly but overall the stay was pretty mediocre and I wouldn’t return.
- R7747BHnatalieh (2/5): Theft of property - On arrival at the hotel the front door men were welcoming. We had 2 rooms for 5 of us, my husband and I and my adult son and 2 daughters. The hotel had a distinct smell of weed in the elevators, my 12 year old is now well versed in the smell. One of the days we were in New York it was cold and we all wore heavy jackets just that one day. My daughter hung her expensive Holland Cooper jacket in the closet. We stayed 6 nights. She forgot to take the jacket from the closet. I called the hotel as soon as we were home in the uk, first I spoke to Karen; then I spoke to the manager DANIEL MORAN, then head of security Clifton., sending photographs of the jacket etc. To no avail was the jacket handed in. Daniel said this has never happened before. I’ve since looked back at reviews to find this has indeed happened before. It was escalated to Marriott claims who have investigated and since said the case is closed and that’s that. Yes my daughter is at fault for leaving the jacket behind but in my world you don’t take something that belongs to you. The hotel in itself is ok. Weird smell in the room for breakfast with all the plants unsure if it’s the plant food but smells awful. Rooms are very small, to be expected in New York. Beds are extremely small with wooden frames. Disappointing and would not recommend to anyone this hotel. Disappointing

- editiont2025 (2/5): Stay Away If You Value Your Health - Upon arrival, the room was found in appalling condition: hair tangled in the bed, urine stains on the blanket, a thick layer of dust that triggered an asthma episode requiring medical equipment , ripped towels, cracked mirror, a filthy dust-laden rug, and visible mold. No guest should be exposed to these kinds of hazardous conditions, let alone in a hotel claiming five-star standards.

- evamE8687UH (10/5): Times Square Edition: 5 Stars Stay! - We spent 3 nights and 4 full days at this lovely hotel. We went to New York to celebrate our anniversary, and they made us feel truly special—almost as if they were celebrating with us! We felt safe and welcomed. The hotel has it all: restaurants with different indoor and outdoor settings, a terrace, brunch, a beautiful courtyard, bars, and a nightclub for dancing all night! everything you need to have fun. We read about the owner and the history of the Edition before going, which made our stay even more special. We loved the style and decor of the common areas and rooms: bright, uncluttered, simple, minimalist, modern, yet warm and romantic (it was our anniversary!). The music was perfect, ideal for both adults and young people. Everyone was so kind to us that I don't know where to begin! I want to mention and send a special thanks to Yago del Rincón (manager) a lovely true gentleman; and to Eduardo "Eddie"+ Elvio at the bar ( deli cocktails and great hospitality)! and to our waitress every day at breakfast (I can't remember her name! :( ). Edition honors the benefits from Amex Platinum and Marriott Bonvoy which made our experience Amazing.. even more!! The location is perfect. If you don't like the Times Square area, don't worry you might not even notice you're in the center of the action; but if you do... well... enjoy it! Thank you all so much, we definitely will be back as soon as we can. We highly recommend this beautiful hotel as a great place to stay and enjoy New York.

Have stayed in a couple of other nearby hotels but from now on this is where we will be! Tallia went out of her way to make our stay a great one! She is a fantastic representative of the brand, and all the other staff were super friendly, helpful, and pleasant. Can’t wait till we come back again!

- Paul2966 (10/5): Great for NY Theatre and T Sq - Pleasantly surprised. Having recently stated at W Times Sq and having a not so stellar experience, I was a bit apprehensive to book Edition! However, should not have been. The hotel has an amazing location if you are in NY for theatre. From the moment the door guys set eyes on us, util we left every employee was incredibly friendly. These guys are professional, polite, helpful and genuinely seem to like working at the hotel. Check in was a breeze, deluxe room, 23 floor… all NY rooms are “small” but it still seemed luxurious.. Shower was very nice, coffee maker, comfy bed and pillows. Lobby bar was cool and good for a drink. I hate the dumb Marriott $40 “destination fee”. But, it does give you 2 tickets to MoMa if you have time. Did not eat at hotel, but the 9 floor restaurant looked very nice! Definitely would return, and a new favorite!

Yes it's pricey and rooms are small (like anywhere on Manhattan) but details are amazing, rooms are clean and service is exceptional. I'd recommend the Time Square one especially if you travel for leisure and want to get the NYC vibe from your window.

- Ryan1997777 (10/5): Delight Night in NYC - My partner and me stayed at the hotel for one night on the weekend. We have been to the Madison Park Edition but it was our first in the times square one. Each has its own merits but personally I prefer this one. Location: if you are a tourist to NYC, the Times Square Edition will be the best option. There are a lot of Broadway theaters nearby, it's only 500 fts to the Chicago show. Moma is only about 10 mins walk and the frontdesk also provided us two complimentary tickets. Room: the guest room is bit smaller than the Madison one. One of my friends told me it's a little bit noisy because his room was in low level. My room was in 26 level, so the noise not a problem Lobby bar and cocktails: one of my favorite thing is to get some drink in the hotel's signature cocktail menu, the Ninth Edition was really good. Our bartender Eddie was so nice, when we got there, the kitchen was already closed for about 10 minutes, but Eddie still got some desert for us. Marriott elite status: we have platinum status and was recognized when we checked in at Times Square Edition. To be honest, I didn't expect a room upgrade before check in, but my room was upgraded to a premium high floor room. I will definitely stay here again if I visit NYC next time!
