The front of house staff are not knowledgeable about public transport options (only taxis) or local distances- we were told Orquigonia was 1h by taxi but it was only 15 minutes!

• Gwen (5/5): Very misleading description of facilities. Poor customer service. - The building was a charming, well maintained Spanish style hotel with a lovely garden. My room was small, with barely enough room to walk on both sides of the full bed, and only a small rack on which to hang clothes and no place large enough to open my suitcase, except on top of the bed. The description says clearly that there is a restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner, and the hours are clearly listed as being from 7:00 to 22:00. However, they actually only serve breakfast from 7am to 10:30am. The description also states that there is a coffee house on site; there is not. This might not be a problem for some visitors, but I specifically chose the hotel because of these options. I was only staying in Coban overight. I had arrived tired after a 14 hour bus ride, planning to have dinner on site, go to sleep, get up and have breakfast and get back on a bus for another long trip the following day. Instead of relaxing. I had to walk around the town in the rain looking for a place to eat dinner. When I brought this incorrect description to the attention of the owner, he did not apologise; his response was "In all the decades we've been open, we've never served anything but breakfast." I responded that, as a guest reading the description, I had no way of knowing that, and that I had very specifically been looking for lodgings with a restaurant on-site. He said they would alter the description, but several days later, prior to writing this review, the description has not been changed. In terms of overall "customer service" and intent to be "accommodating", I give this hotel a very low rating.
• Michelle (10/5): Absolute Gem-- Garden Oasis - What a gem! This place exceeded expectations. In the centre of the busting town, lies this gorgeous garden oasis with large flowering trees and plants, tastefully decorated lounge areas and spacious rooms, in an enclosed secure garden space. The staff was fantastic and so helpful. We also had a car and there was free parking down the road. 100% recommend. nothing- it was great.

• moubarak (8/5): Un jardin divin au sein de la ville de Coban dans une des 5 demeures coloniales existantes - Le propriétaire aime les fleurs et son jardin est ravissant. Il a également une collection d’objets en fer forgé qui amènent une âme à l’établissement. J’ai trouvé le matelas inconfortable mais ma fille ça ne l’a pas gênée. Notre chambre n’avait pas de fenêtre et la salle de bain est un peu vieux jeu.

A pesar que tenía mucho que hacer siempre estaba dispuesto a ayudar y dar un excelente servicio. El hotel tiene parqueo pero está a una cuadra el hotel, lo que dificulta entrar y salir. Otra cosa es que algunas habitaciones dan a la calle y se escucha el ruido de los carros

• Rym Djanet (8/5): Cosy and central stay in Cobán - The property has a lovely central courtyard and garden and the rooms are very clean and tidy with facilities that met our needs for a one night stop in town. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location was great and very close to Cobán's main plaza. It's important to note that this is a renovated historical property with its original structure, so some rooms do not have windows facing the courtyard but rather the external wall and are quite dark. The staff were very accommodating and changed our room immediately to one with 2 windows overlooking the garden. Nothing comes to mind, the accommodation was clean, tidy and met our expectations.

Las habitaciones súper amplias, limpias y confortables. El desayuno muy rico. Erwin es un magnífico trabajador del hotel, nos ayudó con el aparcamiento del coche, nos sirvió el desayuno y siempre fue educado, servicial y cercano, buen trabajo! El dueño fue también un hombre encantador.

• Georges (10/5): Faites un détour mais ne ratez pas cet endroit édénique oasis de paix et d'élégance.. Un lo - Cet hébergement mérite beaucoup plus que d'y passer une nuit de transit. Cette magnifique maison de style colonial dont les quatre galeries quasi monacales entourent un patio fleuri où les colibris viennent butiner est décorée avec goût et offre des chambres vastes et confortables. Il faut s'y arrêter ne serait-ce que pour profiter du calme malgré sa position au cœur de la ville. Le personnel dévoué est presque obséquieux ce qui est fort agréable. Quant à Rudy le propriétaire style vieille noblesse castillane malgré son nom d'origine allemande est la personne à qui je dois beaucoup ayant été gravement malade, il fut présent à chaque instant veillant sur nous avec attention. Merci. J'ajoute que les petits déjeuners continentaux sont disponibles et excellents. A cette période de l'année, la température est fraîche matin et soir. Mais l'hôtel n'y est pour rien.

We had breakfast at the hotel and it was okay. I like old hotels so I thought it was super charming Noisy like most hotels in Guatemala. Traffic until late. Small bathroom.

Bei der einfachen Straßenansicht ahnt man kaum, welch nettes Kleinod sich da im Innenhof verbirgt. Frühstück gut, Zimmer okay, nicht zu eng (3 Personen). Unterkunft noch in Laufweite zum Ortskern. Etwas mehr Ablagefläche wäre schön gewesen, sonst landen zusätzliche Sachen wie ein Laptop schnell mal auf dem einzigen Stuhl. Bis zum Ortskern läuft man schon ein ganzes Stück.

Es ist nicht weit vom Zentrum, die Straße ist es leider sehr gefahren, also mit viel Verkehr, aber ab 10 oder 11 Uhr abends sehr ruhiger, aber das Haus hat es an sich, ich kann nur über meine Erfahrung schreiben, aber mir und meine Familie hat es begeistert.. sehr sauber, ein schönes Haus, und das Personal.. einfach super Net
