• Mat (10/5): - La pension est géré par une famille très charmante! De belles conversations autour de la piscine le soir avec eux ils aiment les gens cela paraît :-). À mon arrivée le propriétaire m'a tout tres bien expliqué les activités qu'il y avait et il m'a booké une journée de visite sur le lagon. Il m'a ensuite montré la carte de l'île et expliqué quoi voir et faire. La clim fonctionne bien et j'ai aussi profiter de mon petit balcon. Cuisine commune propre et fonctionnel. Ils m'ont même aiguisé un couteau que je trouvais qu'il ne coupait pas. L'endroit est très propre on voit l'amour que porte la famille envers leurs biens. J'y reviendrais sans problème :-) Clé séparé des autres clés de chambre pour accéder aux toilettes qui ne sont pas dans la chambre mais privé ne vous inquiétez pas. Ils sont en train de changer la situation la chambre a côté de la mienne est en rénovation pour y inclure la salle de bain et je crois qu'ils veulent faire ca pour toutes les chambres. Les toilettes sont quand même tres proches même si elles sont séparés et très propre.

• Christoph (8/5): - Eric and Carol are nice and friendly hosts. They care about the infrastructure and environment. Everything is clean and nice. The room was basic but ok. Bathroom is in different building part but private and clean. Common areas are also clean and the pool really nice. The location is on the quiet part of Morea. You need to have a car there. The only weak point is the wifi. It kind of works in common areas but is really slow. It feels like in the 90is. Nowaday i expect wifi also in the rooms with a reasonable speed. I now, this is not easy in french polynesia, but at least covering the rooms is bot that of an effort and just needs some cabeling.

Juste le bruit des voitures le premier soir et le deuxième soir , on n entend plus rien car l atmosphère est magique et surtout reposant.....
• Ines (9/5): Lovely hosts, lovely fare - Erick and Carol were amazing hosts! Always open to chat and give tons of recommendations. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and intimate for a couple. We were able to be independent but you could always eat breakfast and diner with Carol. We rented the car through Fare Arana which was very convenient and very well-priced versus other car rentals on the island. We definitely recommend! The distance from main attractions, you always need a car to go somewhere which can get frustrating when you just want to go out for a quick bit.

Les - : les salles de bain sont un peu éloignées des chambres. Il y a avait énormément de moustiques. Pas de wifi dans la chambre pour information (mais au niveau de la piscine).

• Alexandre (7/5): Séjour agréable dans un logement atypique et bien situé. - Le Fare Arana est un logement atypique qui mérite d’être bien compris avant la réservation. Dans notre cas, il s’agissait uniquement d’une chambre, sans sanitaires ni cuisine à l’intérieur. Les parties communes (cuisine, salle de bain, toilettes) se trouvent à l’extérieur, mais elles sont très propres, bien entretenues et facilement accessibles. Peut-être que les bungalows offrent une configuration différente, à vérifier selon le type d’hébergement choisi. La cuisine commune est un vrai point fort : spacieuse, bien aménagée et très bien équipée. On y trouve tout le nécessaire pour cuisiner, ainsi qu’un grand réfrigérateur à disposition des voyageurs. C’est un endroit convivial où l’on peut facilement échanger avec d’autres vacanciers. Autre point positif : la localisation. Le Fare Arana est bien situé, proche de tout ce qu’il faut pour visiter et profiter de l’île. La piscine est superbe, bien entretenue, parfaite pour se détendre après une journée de balade. L’équipe est très gentille, accueillante et toujours souriante. Nous avons très bien mangé sur place et le petit-déjeuner était copieux et délicieux, avec des produits frais. Concernant les petits points faibles, il faut prévoir un bon anti-moustiques, car il y en a pas mal, surtout le soir. Et si vous voyagez avec de grosses valises, le transport peut être un peu compliqué selon l’accès à la chambre, mais rien de dramatique. Dans l’ensemble, c’est un très bel endroit, plein de charme, calme et authentique, parfait pour ceux qui recherchent un séjour simple, dépaysant et convivial.

The one bed apartment was lovely, great decorations and fully equipped and amazing views. Arriving on a Sunday when everything is closed is not ideal but there is a pizza place about a 30 min walk or a food truck just at the bottom of the hill which has large portions which are very cheap so that sorted dinner out.

• Dagmar (1/5): A really unpleasant experience - The view to the ocean I recommend reading other one point reviews. Not very friendly welcome. Broken air conditioning. No mosquito protect in room. Broken mosquito protect in the external bathroom. Because of the mosquito bites we had to leave the next day, but no apologies from the owner. This was really our the worst experience ever since we book with booking.com
• Sally (7/5): Good - Lovely view, nice outdoor kitchen and terrace on the bungaloo we stayed in. Erick was very helpful. Lovely pool. Without a vehicle it is quite limited where you can go. If you have a vehicle, it is a lovely quiet spot away from the tourist bustle.

• Fred (8/5): - There is a steep hill up to the property and once your @ the parking spot, you must hike a bit more to get to the rental. Nice pool, very clean property! Owners reprimanded teenagers for playing ball in the pool, so I would have to assume that this property prefers adults over kids. Entrance to property is not well marked (but neither is any other property on Moorea!).
• Jessica (9/5): Superb - The bungalow villa was really nice with enough space for four adults. The AC and fans were a great relief in the heat. The kitchen and utensils worked well for us to cook our meals. The view and the salt water pool were very enjoyable. The place is located on the side of the island where you can't drink the tap water and have to buy water bottles or go to a fill station about a 10-15 minute drive away. We managed just fine though.
• Yağızhan (9/5): Best budget spot in Moorea - My best stay in Moorea. It is well organized for any kind of budget travel. In the nature, having a pool, big enough terrace and kitchen with superb views to sea.. the pictures are correct.. I tried a few places in Moorea already, this is best to me.

Our room was basic but comfortable. Private bath was separate from the room. Although we didn't eat breakfast, the bottom tier breakfast seemed a bit expensive for just coffee & toast.

• Kristen (2/5): There are better hostels I wouldn’t stay here again. - It had a beautiful view of a bay. There was a kitchen with your own private cupboard and tons of fridge space to cook in. Was cleaned often. There was a pool to swim in. The location was far from anything if you don’t have a car. They are very strict about where you keep your things and would come in and clean the bed without asking (this has never happened to me before in a hostel room) and move the stuff around or put it under the bed (I think this is not appropriate to be touching guests personal items without permission.) Also they only give you one sheet to sleep with and no blanket. The room was cold at night and a fellow guest lent me their sheet several nights in a row and every afternoon the cleaner would come in and take one of the two sheets off my bed for no reason, even without cleaning the bed. It seemed very controlling. The couple that owned the hostel were also not welcoming and at times inconsiderate. They were condescending when asking about things. They had a sign that said “kayak rentals” I was told “well can you put a kayak on your car? Then you can’t kayak” when in fact we saw kayak rentals the next day right by the bay near the hostel. The male owner also entered the hostel room when I was sleeping alone in the hostel room on my last day 30 minutes before checkout to tell me that I needed to leave. I had already packed up my stuff and put it in my car and just needed to hand them the keys at 10 and he inappropriately came in around 930 to wake me up from my nap and tell me I needed to leave. I was told afterwards by friends in the room that no one even moved into my bed after me so the whole thing was unnecessary. Some of my friends had similar and other rude and inappropriate encounters with the owners, I won’t speak to that but I am put off and would not stay here again.
• Gergő (10/5): Lovely guesthouse with great people - We had a great time here, first and for all because of the wonderful people that run the place. We could turn to them with any problem, they were always super nice and helpful. The guesthouse is very nice, and outside the room it has quite a few places where people can sit down, have a drink, chat or just watch the beautiful night sky. We also liked the swimming pool, which was cleaned every morning, because the closest public beach is quite far away. But after renting a scooter from the host, it was not a problem anymore. Breakfast and dinner was also great, made by the owners themselves. Nothing.
• Christopher (3/5): Ok but I won’t be returning unfortunately. - Place was clean and tidy ,facility’s were ok and view were great. The host was friendly in the start but excessive force-full rules in the place had put a dampener on my stay and as I witnessed others receive the same hard treatment for minor accidental mistakes made me and others feel uncomfortable . I do understand it’s there place but we are also paying customers & a little extra Curtesy goes a long way.

• Martin (10/5): Perfect to stay on Moorea - I did booked a room in a dorm. The room was very clean as well as the shower and the toilets. The kitchen was really amazing. I cooked every day, red a book and enjoyed the sound of the ocean. Overall I liked that WiFi is only available in the common areas. The staff and the owners are also wonderful. I rented a bike and made my way around the island, up to waterfalls or to the beach.

• Genakay (10/5): Friendly Fare Makes You Feel Like Family - Quite a slice of paradise! Amazing views with a unique, refreshing pool, recreation area, colorful gardens, restaurant & bar. My room was spacious and comfortable with an attached balcony and a private bathroom nearby. There is a large kitchen and seating area to share. The lovely couple who run Fare Arana are friendly, helpful, fun. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Erick helped me set up an island tour with very little notice. Carole's sunset meals were delicious, such a treat. Cute, friendly kitties also! Careful of mosquitoes! They are pretty vicious, especially around the seating area where there is community Wi-Fi. (Wi-Fi is not available in the rooms, I believe). But this did not cause any problems for me. If you are staying for more than a few days, it's is recommended to have some kind of transportation. It is a bit remote.

• Thomas (8/5): Great calm stay - It was a nice, calm guesthouse with gorgeous sea view. It was also a great meeting point for fellow travellers. Atiha and South of the island is the calmer side with less opportunities for programs, restaurants, public beaches. You need to plan ahead with transportation, renting a scooter etc. The pool area could be an excellent spot for apéro or a bar. Unfortunately, it was supposed to be a silent zone.

They made sure that our stay was comfortable, and helped with tour reservations. We enjoyed the home cooked dinner we ordered for one night and the pool was just amazing. The bungalow was very clean and had everything we needed. We loved having our breakfast on the terrace. Everything was great. but you will need a car or scooter to go around the island. Also, soap is provided but it would be recommended to provide some shampoo as well.

• Jonathan (2/5): - This property is currently listed as a three-star hotel, when it is actually a hostel. Additionally, the claimed amenities are misrepresented. - Rooms contain a bed, two nightstands, and a place to hang clothes. That's it. No TV, no fridge, not even a table and chair. - Bathrooms are outside along an unlit path. I had to use a flashlight at night. - Wifi is only available at a communal dining area with half a dozen chairs. - "Laundry facilities" is asking the owners to do it for $15/kg. - The "restaurant" is pre-arranging breakfast or dinner with the owners. You can't just show up and order something. There is no bar, that's just a lie. On the bright side, the pool does exist, and the rooms are air conditioned. (But the air conditioner turns off when you leave, so it will be good and hot when you get back. This is a good time to take a shower while it cools off.) Finally, I'll add that this property is on the opposite side of the island from any activity you will want to do or restaurant you will want to eat at. It's only close in the sense that Moorea is not large (60 minutes to drive around it), but Fare Arana is still 20-30 minutes from anything.

• Verified traveler (2/5): - I specifically chose this property due to their claim that there would be someone present who spoke English. I don't speak French and needed assistance in booking trips, transportation, etc., especially in a remote property with no accessible markets, restaurants, shops, activities in walking distance, and on an island where public transport, cabs, and uber are not generally available. Prior to my arrival I communicated with a representative to discuss and arrange multiple things. When I arrived this person was not there and there was no one with any English on the property, only one woman who started by being two hours late for my ferry pickup. I tried to speak to her in French using Google translate and she would just scream WHAT and walk away from me. None of my prior discussions or arrangements were honored, and she was incredibly hostile. She wouldn't speak with me directly but would send other guests- all of whom were equally unfamiliar with the island as I was- to talk to me. There were no alternate accommodations during my stay and this five day leg of my trip was pretty much ruined.
• Julian (10/5): hosts went above and beyond - Great value and excellent service. Erik and Carole were so helpful driving us to town to get our rental car in town. Carole cooked us beautiful omelettes and the view is fantastic. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you are expecting to walk out to to white sand, its better to use Fare Arana as a home base and rent a car to explore all of Moorea.

• Jose (8/5): Encantador - Nos gustó mucho porque es un lugar para relajarte y descansar. Está un poco alejado de la playa y de supermercados, pero tiene una bonita alberca con hermosa vista del lagoon. Francoice y Nelli nos trataron como familia. Lo recomendamos.

No transportation /must rent a car USD$100 day. Taxi USD$35 to town each way Owners charge to pick you up from town. No beach to enjoy nearby (except walking on stones) Owners not helpful. Man busy booking expensive tours for guests and wife cooking expensive meals. No front desk. No internet in rooms. If you are looking for isolation go for it. If you want fun, convenience, stores, restaurants and a nice sandy beach to relax this is not for you.
