- Brenda (4/5): - The only thing that was good was the ocean view. The room temperature was too hot at night (76 degrees) making it impossible for me to sleep. The cook top did not work, therefore I was unable to prepare food. The television was programed to cut off every 30 minutes--cutting off right in the middle of a movie! I will NEVER stay at the Victorian again. My entire get away trip was a disaster.

- carolyn (6/5): - Unit had several items coffee maker and bedroom TV not working when we arrived a/c was broken had to suffer for about 6 hrs water at shower was hard to regulate did not have dead bolt or security lock on door and bathroom door knob was very hard for my grand children to open door when inside bathroom just was not a good experience

Due to the convenience of the location. - The location was as we expected and was close enough to everything that we were able to navigate around with no trouble. The biggest issue for us was that the elevators were down in building 3 and it took 4 days to get them working again, when we got there the air conditioner was not working and we were asked to wait 24 hours for it to aclimate, we had to go buy fans in order to sleep and the room got up to 86 degrees during the night. They did promptly fix it the next day. Also I am a student and my daughter works remotely and building 3 has very sketchy internet service so neither one of us was able to do what we needed and had to go off site to work. In order for the TV to work we had to use our personal hot spots. So that is an issue. The room was lovely and had all the amenities in advertised, I just think the property management might be lacking and that is not the fault of the owner.

I had to lay a blanket down for my 1 year old to even sit on the floor. The dishes had hair and were very dirty. There was no hand soap, the patio covered in ants and the couch was also extremely dirty.

- Kenna (6/5): - The condo was budget friendly and in a good location. It was decorated cute, they had a pool, and the staff in the lobby were friendly and helpful. The things I did not like: It was smaller than I anticipated for my family of 4 but we made it work. I was disappointed it did not have an oven or a full size fridge since I cooked most of our meals. They should consider taking out the walk in pantry and putting in one of those items. The forks and spoons in the drawer were still dirty from the last people. You should also consider having something on the patio where you can hang up beach towels/bathing suits to dry for the next day.
- Michele (6/5): Will not stay again. - Let me 1st add that the condo itself was clean, which I appreciated… - Upon arriving, we were informed the elevator was out of order. Mind you, we were on the 3rd floor & I had my 70 yr. old mother w/ me. She suffers from crippling arthritis - there was no way we could stay. While discussing leaving, a lady approached us with her business card. She said she overheard our conversation & informed us there was an elevator at the other end of the building that was working. It was a bit of a walk, but at least I could get my mother up to the 3rd floor. Why didn’t the front desk tell us about the other elevator?? - Neither bathrooms had a fully functioning toilet - we had to jiggle each button to stop the toilet from running & fill the tank. - The bedroom to the left of the front door has a window visible from the hallway - when the wind from the ceiling fan catches the thin curtain it opens for everyone in the hallway to see into the bedroom. It needs a blind, as well as a thicker curtain. - “Bedroom” w/ the bunkbeds was more like a closet. Bunkbeds were so rickety there was no way I was putting any of my kids on the top or bottom. - The balcony curtain rod came apart every time we opened or closed the balcony door. - bedroom curtains are thin and don’t block out any morning light. - Kitchen has 6 open shelves for dishes, 3 of which are leaning and coming out of the wall. - There’s a pull out couch, but not usable - it slants so bad, you’d think you were sitting on a slide.

- Leta (6/5): - Overall I have an indifferent experience for my stay at Victorian. Pros: excellent lighting, they had many bath towels and wash cloths in bathroom. I did enjoy the at home feeling of the room. Cons: Ice was only available at front desk, the carpet in the living area was old and stained, the available mop was smelly. The location is dated; I didn't mind but some fixature really do need to be updated. The key to get into room was a challenge at times to get inside room. Vehicles going into front gate could follow the previous vehicle going into front gate, without entering code, that can be potential dangerous. The few elevators that are available are dirty and need to be clean. Overall, I did enjoy my stay at the location, but some works do need to be done. Also, my son while running around the run got glass in his toe, so I had to buy some tweezers to get glass out, we didn't have any glassware doing our stay.

Still, they stubbornly refused that saying, "We don't care from where you booked". You either pay the parking fees to us or we will not allow you to check-in. I need a FULL compensation of this with the horrible experience that we encountered. Please note, I went there with my family and kids and they are all traumatized.

- David (4/5): - We arrived a little past midnight and the security guard was very helpful. We got to our condo and immediately realized that the photos on Expedia were from a remodeled unit. Ours was not updated! A few minutes after arriving, the security guard knocked on our door and asked to see our reservation. Apparently the condo was double booked and the other guest had just arrived. Good thing we weren't a few minutes later in arriving or we might not have had a place to stay! The property is not updated, with holes in the bathroom ceiling and cabinets that are falling apart. The morning we left it was raining and the drain in the parking garage was clogged. We had to load our car in water that was about 8" deep! The location of this property is great, so I don't understand why they wouldn't want to update this property??

Parking is very limited and the set up is cumbersome and not well marked. The buildings are all one gust of wind away from crumbling. The property needs some serious work. I hope the property can put in the work it needs as this property has potential to be a real standout.
- LC (2/5): - The room was very old outdated and musty. The patio is about to break apart. It is very dangerous. Someone could just crash right through it. Overall, our experience was just terrible. The smell had gotten into our luggage and it made our house smell the same way until I could get air sanitizers and wash our bags down The fixtures in the kitchen, were not turn the proper way and some of the cabinets were broken. We really deserve to be refunded every penny of our money back for we live better than this and we expected better for the money we paid.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Rough start, but a nice condo - The owner of the condo clearly does a great job keeping the interior well maintained - everything was lovely inside the unit. However the building needed care. My husband and I have mobility issues and both elevators that serviced our building were out of order. 4 flights of stairs every time we wanted to go out to the beach or the pool or dinner? That was extremely difficult. Before we checked in, I messaged the booking people when they sent me the link to the guest app, and let them know that we were driving down late Friday night. They assured me that there would be a security guard at the gate that would provide us access. There wasn't. We drove around the parking lot, trying to identify which building was the right one ( only 2 buildings of 6 or 7 are marked?) and trying to find anyone that could give us a parking tag. There were other guests also trying to find him. The next day, the rest of the staff were super helpful & friendly, it was just a poor start to our weekend. It might be helpful if you put a map of the property on the guest app, then I could have found where our room was prior to driving around in the middle of the night. We

- Sara (10/5): LOVED this cozy place! - We loved this cozy place! The view of the beach right across the street was amazing as well. I loved the gated community and how safe it felt. It was so quiet around us it felt like we had the whole building to ourselves! The pool was very clean and our kids loved it too! We will for sure be making reservations at The Victorian from now on for all our future beach trips!

The bed was very uncomfortable, it needs a new mattress. There should be a mat in the tub to prevent slipping. AC unit stopped cooling for about 24 hours. It was fixed. The pull out bed was very uncomfortable also. There needs to be a bigger sofa for more seating.

The location is also something we consider when booking and being within walking distance of Wal-Mart, the fishing pier, & restaurants was nice and a reason for giving more stars.

Beds very uncomfortable very thin and lumpy. Bathroom looked like it was about to fall apart. My other family had a room with no ac for 2 days. So no I did not enjoy my stay at all.

Our unit was rundown and in need of updates. It was listed as housing 6 guests and there wasnt even enough kitchenware for everyone to have a plate and silverware. A few dollars put into the unit would benefit it immensely.

- Verified traveler (4/5): uncomfortable, unsanitary, and broken - To start my review positively, this place had great AC and water pressure, but the bad certainly outweighed the good. Just because a condo is older doesn’t mean it needs to be uncomfortable, unsanitary, and broken. Smells terrible, toilet overflows, not cleaned prior to our stay, door lock broken, curtains broken, stained sheets, and so much more. We would suggest staying away from this property.
- Erik (6/5): - Landscaping was great. New appliances but dated furniture. Lots of small maintenance issues in apartment. Says it sleeps six but crowded with 4 people and their luggage. My son found a child's stuffed animal in his bed making us question the housekeeping. Instructions were easy. Our hide a bed couch wasn't working properly, so we didn't use it. Apartment smelled musty. There wasn't enough receptacles for electronics and the ones that were there were hard to get to. Toilet ran almost continuously and sink in bathroom sounded like air raid siren when in use. Sliding balcony door lock busted along with the locking bar. My wife and I were the only one's strong enough to slide balcony door open, as it seemed to have a broken track. Chair on balcony was busted and not safe to sit on. Again location is great but there are hotels nearby.
- Steven (6/5): - I had a good experience overall. The front desk was very hrlpful and courteous. The issue was they were doing repairs on the roof which made things very noisy starting at 7:30am. Lots of banging all day long. So loud we had to leave sooner and stay gone longer to avoid going back to our condo. I dont think they should have rented our unit out if they were hping to do repairs to the roof directly above our unit.

- Mitch (4/5): Won't stay again - Our booked room states accommodates 6, which it did have a bed for everyone to sleep in, two sets had to double up which we were aware of, The room itself for 6 well your very much on top of each other. The room was dusty, the bedroom was musty smelling, We found a pair of XXL dark blue track pants in the sofa sleeper along with wrappers crumbs and other items when the bed was pulled out. The bathroom,bathtub needs a true elbow grease cleaning. We appreciated the proximity to the Walmart and the beach, The beach was literally across the street. This property has two pools one is too deep for most children the more child family friendly gets way to crowded, The pool lights were not on one night making it way too dangerousfor children to have them off. Our stay was mid week to weekend definitely a different clientele from week to weekend. Too much cigarette and pot smell. The building our room was in is tired needs updating, which they could be in the process of doing as they were working on the roof every morning early, Elevators are slow one not working at all. Would have liked some notifications of roof work prior to stay. overall wouldn't stay again.
- Carolyn (2/5): Bait and Switch!!! Buyer Beware!!!! - Terrible!!! Two weeks before our stay I was told by Ryson Vacation Rentals they had to move our room but it was an exact equivalent! I paid for a King size bed and was given a full size bed at best (advertised as queen). 6 people crammed in a full two bunk beds and a pull out couch that took up 90% of our living quarters...ridiculous!! They said I would be compensated after hour or more back and forth on phone with multiple people. Then on check out they said there were doing nothing!! Not to mention I had to reach out to them again multiple times before even getting a response. Terrible customer service!!! They even tried to blame the change in room on hotels by telling me to reach out to them. On vacation you shouldn't have to have this added stress.

The pools were not as clean as they should've been, but we didn't really use them. I'm sure it's hard to keep them clean across from the beach. We do love this property and will return in the future.

I will always stay here. Note to the propert management team...the chairs on the balcony would be so much better if they were taller. When you sit on them, the top beam of the handrail totally blocks out the ocean. Not a big deal, but that's one of my favorite things to do.

- Edward (6/5): Victorian Galveston - Power was off in our unit when we arrived at 4 pm. It took over 4 hours to get it restored! Don't know what was wrong or how or who finally fixed it. No communication from anyone after a person from the rental agency showed up an hour after we reported the problem. Also we were contacted by the rental agency 2 weeks before our visit to inform us that the unit we rented and paid for 3 months earlier would not be available and they would "try" to find other accomodations. They offered one other unit which we accepted. However the alternate unit was priced $92 less than the one we initially rented but we have not recieved a refund for the difference.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Galveston Getaway - It was ok and close to Seawall. We loved the balcony even if we were the furthest unit back and right by elevator. A/C worked great but loud. Location was great close to everything including a Walmart. Floors were dirty upon arrival. TV Remote needs batteries and 2 light bulbs were out. Beds uncomfortable and twin bunk had several springs missing. Towels were brought late (by housekeeping) that evening. Overall it was ok! We plan to return and try a different unit.

- Dina (8/5): Ready to visit again! - Awesome Beach View from this property! Great location close to restaurants, grocery stores and most important the beach is right across the street. The bathrooms are spacious and have lots of counter space. The kitchen was nicely stocked. This unit would be a 10 with a few updates. The management team was great and friendly. Due to an emergency we had to extend our stay and they were very helpful and accommodating. We didn't get to utilize the amenities due to our emergency but, the pools were very inviting! I'm sure that the few issues I listed below will be quickly taken care of. The entry doorway really needs to be cleaned. The mattress in the front bedroom was comfy except that it sloped down towards the headboard. We had to tuck pillows under the mattress to level it in order to be able to sleep. The other bedroom could really use a new mattress. This unit has a few maintenance/cleaning issues that if addressed would make it perfect. The dining chairs need the screws on the legs tighten. The ceiling fans could use some cleaning. The half bath toilet doesn't stop running unless you tap the float.
