The furnishings and breakfast each more is unbelievable! Every day there were clean pressed sheets and towels. The cleanliness was out of this world. This is a must place to stay! The property is immaculate and well appointed. There is a lot of love in this dwelling given it’s been creatively transformed to express everyday comforts with a strong sense of history. Once you enter the doors, you become a house guest of Matteo, the owner of this property, which has been in the family for years. He has carefully restored every inch of the property. He will guide you through this area of Italy with such generosity of spirit.

Decorated with antiques and traditional furnishings, our host Matteo shared some of his life and heritage in Ostuni. He had every intention to ensure an enjoyable stay and made an effort to accommodate our movements. Valet parking was worth it, in a town where parking styles are liberal. Breakfast was enjoyable and characteristic of Italian hospitality.

He laid out a 3-day itinerary for us that was perfect so that we could see the highlights of the area. Breakfast was wonderful including extras like homemade yogurt, delicious pastries, and fine chocolates every day. Our room was impeccably decorated with hand painted flowers on the ceiling and sheets embroidered with flowers that were changed daily. This B and B is in an historic house that has been in the family for multiple generations and there is great pride of ownership. There are antiques and beautiful furnishings throughout. Matteo is warm and kind and willing to help in any way. Treat yourself and stay here if you come to Puglia!

The renovation done to Matteo’s family home is remarkable. It had all the conveniences of a modern stay with all the original charm. The parking was a short walk as was the center of the historical town. Matteo was an amazing host. Gave us perfect recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants. - Maverick_DRS (10/5): A 19th century marvel at wonderful Ostuni - We spent 4 wonderful days in Ostuni and stayed in the enchanting Palazzo Stunis. Matteo was a wonderful host - with a very pleasant personal and caring touch. We very much enjoyed all (!) of his recommendations - from restaurant, gelateria, city walks, day trips to the vicinity of Ostuni ... up to some final shopping which we wanted to accomplish before leaving Puglia :) Most conviniently, he offered a dirct messenger communication for any ad hoc question and suggestion. Palazzo Stunis is an enchanting 19th century town house. Once you climb up the interior stairs, you are in a differnt world - historic furniture, shining tile floors, embroidered table cloths etc. While all is perfectly renovated in the style of the 19th century (down to the detail of the electric wall switches :)), everything is well maintained and up to the latest standards. Breakfast was opulent - the buffet is served on the old tables in the hallway ... and we found a different set of porcelain on our table every morning - what a start in the day. During the day, Matteo provides tea, juice, espresso, and yoghurt refreshments - a nice treat when you swing by for a brief rest. Our nightly evening retreat was the roof top sitting area, where we enjoyed a refreshing breeze and reminisced about the day's impressions with a glas of wine. Palazzo Stunis is just 5-10 minutes away from the lively squares and the historic city center. It is quick walking there, and nice walking back into the calm neighborhood of the house. A great detail is the included car parking option just 2 minutes walk away from house. All in all, we are more than happy to recommend Palazzo Stunis - you will not stay for the lowest price, but you can enjoy a special experience! Many thanks to Matteo - and we hope to see each other again in either Southern or Northern Europe.

The palazzo, family- owned for several generations, has been lovingly, meticulously, and artfully renovated by Matteo , our most extraordinary elegant and refined host. The room ( parental suite) is exquisitely decorated with high ceilings, and painted frescoes. The adjoining bathroom is impeccably clean boasting the plushest bath towels and hand -embroidered hand towels. The hand embroidered , fine linen bed sheets are changed every day. What a treat! The breakfast buffet , replete with a cornucopia of fresh fruit, croissants, baked goods, yoghurts, eggs any style, cured meats , cheeses…… is a lavish feast , unseen anywhere else. Matteo is the epitome of kindness, efficiency, and refinement. We feel privileged to have been able to stay at that marvelous palazzo in beautiful Ostuni.

This Palazzo is exceptional and that’s not just because of the accommodation, but because the palazzo is very different from any other place you will visit in Puglia. Matteo is a kind and generous host, as everyone writing their reviews here has mentioned, but nothing prepared us for the beauty of the furniture, the decorations (the ceilings are a work of art) and the lovely furnishings. We later learned this used to be his family home which explained all the personal touches from vintage radios, beautiful china and linen sheets which are hand embroidered. Breakfast was a feast, so do make sure you have a good appetite and he served great coffee!. Matteo will give you as much help and support as you need and was very good company. We loved the little area set aside for making our own drinks and the fridge for soft drinks which were all complementary. Free parking is a short drive away- it’s not possible to park on the street- another little touch which made our stay so civilised. It’s an expensive place for a bed and breakfast, but it will be the most memorable of your holiday.

They have parking available for a fee which was just a block away. Our room was spacious with 2 period style queen size beds and we had our own private access. Breakfast each morning were amazing with an assortment of cereals, fresh fruits cakes, meats, cheeses, pizza slices and more all beautifully laid out on magnificent inlaid tables with white lace tablecloths. The dining tables for breakfast were laid beautifully with China crockery and cutlery in keeping with the theme of the home, which was a family home that Matteo renovated. We cant speak highly enough of Matteo as our host. He is the perfect gentleman. Whether he was helping with luggage, advising about restaurants, arranging private tours or drivers to pick us up from the airport etc, nothing was too much trouble. Matteo treated us as very special guests. We really enjoyed our long chats and we are so happy we were able to spend time with him at his beautiful Palazzo If only we could keep this as a secret for ourselves. He explained in such detail the places of interest in Ostuni and catered the restaurant recommendations to our particular taste. After serving us the most delightful and beautifully presented breakfast I have ever seen, he sat with us and explained the ins and outs of not only Ostuni, but all the parts of Puglia we were visiting. He kindly suggested different day trips, beaches and restaurants to visit, which became the foundation of our 2 weeks in Puglia. Everything he recommended was perfect and we are certain we would not have had the same experiences without spending time with Matteo. He also booked us some amazing restaurants in Ostuni (which were some of the best meals of our entire 4 weeks in Italy) and suggested beautiful bars for pre/post dinner drinks along with the best view points to view the white city. The boutique hotel is in an excellent location which is quiet and only a short walk to the main square. Parking is also available. It is an exquisitely renovated former family home, decorated to the highest standards by the meticulous owner Matteo. It is immaculately clean and nothing is too much trouble for Matteo who makes you feel very much at home. Breakfast in the morning is lovely with a varied selection of fresh pastries, meats and cheeses amongst other things. We felt so spoilt by Matteo who takes such pride in what he does. The service here is impeccable, second to none and we had some lovely recommendations of where to eat, visit and where to buy the best delicacies to take back to the U.K. Matteo is professional and friendly and contactable by phone for whatever you need. I was able to contact him before my departure to arrange some special touches for my wife’s birthday and he was so obliging and made the day special. We have already recommended the hotel to others and look forward to returning if we are ever lucky enough to visit the beautiful Ostuni again.

The hotel is set in a wonderful old building that has been lovingly restored, and it is absolutely beautiful. Parking in Ostuni is a challenge, but Matteo literally parked and retrieved our rental car for us multiple times, even telling us to call him 10 min. before returning to the B&B so he could be there to park it for us! Our room was large and had its own access to the street. The only downside with it was some traffic noise, but that eventually stopped. The linens on the bed were changed daily and there was a welcome heated rack in the bathroom for drying towels. The breakfast buffet had many tasty options. We wouldn't hesitate to book Palazzo Stunis - Dimora di Charme again.

He is truly interested in making your stay the very best. The breakfast was incredible with a very large variety of foods from pastries to fruit and vegetables to local yogurt and meats/cheese. Phenomenal! The house is amazing having been restored by Matteo to its original early 19th century (or earlier) state. The attention to detail is amazing from the hand painted ceilings to the variety of antiques in every room to the travel and cooking books in his library (English and Italian). The rooftop sitting area was a great place to relax at the end of the day. Matteo also provides his own custom map of the city with bars and restaurant locations indicated. All of his recommendations were fantastic. We could not have been happier with our 8 night stay! nothing. everything was beyond our expectations!

Beautiful bedrooms and common area are on second floor with about 15 steps and no elevator; some of the doorways are a little low for guests over 6 feet. For us, minor inconveniences eclipsed by the owner, Matteo’s, personal welcome and attentive, but not obtrusive, service throughout our 3-day stay including expansive breakfast, touring recommendations and help with bags and nearby parking in a church lot he rents for guests. Overall a great base for seeing Ostuni and rest of Puglia.

- Stephen (10/5): - This is a wow property. Matteo is a wonderful host and everything in his property is beautiful. Ostuni is a pretty town and we enjoyed our time there as well as our day trips to nearby towns. Would highly recommend this property.
- Fiona (10/5): - Owner was so lovely and helpful, helping us book taxis and serving up a delicious breakfast! It’s a short walk out of town but meant it was nice and quiet, and our room was perfect. Would come back!

- Lee (10/5): worth booking for the location, period interior and host/owner Matteo - lovingly restored by owner to traditional style.. matteo the owner went above and beyond to be helpful and got us a secure parking space (definitely needed). short uncomplicated 5-10 minute walk to old town. sat here trying to think of something and coming up blank so that says a lot.
