Hotel Pibi Boreal

Lovely breakfast delivered to our door of breads, fruit and coffee. The owner kindly picked us up from the airport late at night which was included in the stay.

Pics of the outlook were a bit outdated so now the trees have grown to the point where you don't have a view out, just trees. Not a problem at all but just good to know.

We chose this place for our last night in San José to avoid the touristy hotels near the airport. Pibi Boreal hotel is quiet and peaceful and the expansive outdoor deck in our room made the short stay incredibly comfortable. The grounds are immaculate. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating, they provided an early morning ride to the airport (4:45 AM) and sent us on our way with warm muffins and fruit. What a delight to find this place.

A car is required to get to any restaurants or shops but an Uber ride cost us only $5USA, so not a bad outcome.

C'est l'endroit idéal si vous désirez être tranquille et près de l'aéroport en même temps. Si je reviens au Costa Rica, j'y retournerai!

Bardzo podobał nam się wystrój pokoju oraz jego wysoki standard czystości. Szczególną atrakcją jest przestronny taras z pięknym widokiem na las. Personel obiektu był niezwykle uprzejmy i pomocny, co znacząco wpłynęło na komfort naszego pobytu.

We spent a lovely night at Hotel Pibi after a travel day before a domestic flight out of SJO. We were met by Mathieu upon arrival, who provided transportation back to the hotel (run by he and his wife). The property is quite neat in layout, and the rooms are exceptionally clean with great views. The room is half window, so we spent multiple hours of daylight watching for birds and enjoying the peace. There’s also a trail through their garden that’s pretty awesome, and affords a great chance for bird spotting. Especially in the morning when you’ll hear parakeets and toucans among many other birds. Ubers are readily available and make the center of Alajuela easily accessible, so we made a quick journey down and back for a very nice dinner (there is no restaurant on site, but there is a well stocked beverage selection in the fridge). Topping it all off, a delightful (and filling) breakfast platter was delivered right to our room the next morning. It was perfect. Overall a tremendous stay, a lovely room, a great nights sleep, a tasty breakfast, and wonderful service from the owners!
