Big Oak Cottages

The premises is well secured, with alarm systems and electric fencing. The chalet is spacious with an enormous bathroom and an overgenerous space allocation to the shower area. The main bedroom has a fireplace, which was sufficiently stocked with firewood. The bed was very comfortable. Everything worked in the chalet, (lighting/appliances/plug points) which is a compliment to the maintenance and management teams. The decor is tastefully selected with a fine balance between appeal, ambience and visitor comfort. Excellent option as a couple's retreat.

The linen did not look fresh, perhaps we missed laundry day!!!! The gate keypads do not have sufficient light, especially annoying for night-time arrivals.

Everything was amazing, from the check-in to the comfortable stay and location. Friendly staff also adds to the enjoyable stay.

The location, the standard of the unit, bathroom, fireplace, veranda, privacy.

Even though we enjoy all the above, we will sadly NEVER book at Big Oak again. We had to ask the neighbour to turn his music down on a few occasions, not because it was exceptionally loud, but, because there is zero sound insullation between the two adjacent units. We could hear every single sound, from a simple discussion between them, his partner laughing and giggling, him waking and clearing his throat every morning, even heard him snoring at night. We found it exceptionally annoying. Booking.com shared the incorrect pin code with us, we had to contact Dullstroom Reservations and received the pin/code, together with an unnecessary attitude from the employee.

Great property. And all was exactly as expected.
