"Beautiful traditional hotel to stay a couple of days"

Friendly helpful staff Our room was very tidy the bed was super comfortable and the shower was perfect just what we needed after flying from Australia

A little bit of road noise but honestly by 9 pm traffic going past was almost zero

"Superb little gem of a pub"

What a superb find. We only stayed one night but we were so pleased to have found this little gem of a pub. The staff are super friendly and the pub exceeded our expectations. Lots of seating inside and outside and lovely beer garden at the front and back. Large carpark too. There are several covered areas with heaters and blankets provided for those chilly evenings . Our room was wonderful. A big shout out to housekeeping who ensured the room was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable and the addition of a basket of treats ,plenty of coffee, tea etc and fresh milk in littke bottles was a real bonus.There is an iron and ironing board. A fan provided also for those hot nights if needed. Everything was perfect. We enjoyed a great night's sleep and had a wonderful breakfast in the morning. A large pub but equally cosy and the staff deserve praise for ensuring it retains a homely feel. We would definitely recommend the Carpenters Arms and hope to return again. Thank you for making us welcome.

We didn't see a lift which maybe an issue for those less able to do stairs. We were unable to order any food after 7.30pm,which was a shame as we were just too late when we arrived but whilst having a drink,we did see a couple tucking into what looked like a hearty roast dinner. However we realise there has to be a cutoff time for serving food.

Dirty! Overpriced Breakfast was a large plate full but the food was over cooked and dry!

It is situated next to busy road so Some noise if u are sleeping at front end of hotel
