Dar Adouss

The property is located just up the road from the main village of Imlil, maybe a 15 minute stroll. It is in a peaceful neighborhood with incredibly friendly neighbors and visitors from other villages. We enjoyed the small separation from the main town center, the gorgeous views of all the surrounding mountains and valleys and of course, our hosts, Lahsen and Azziz. My partner and I were originally planning to stay 9 nights and have since turned it into 13 nights, almost entirely due to the wonderful hospitality, kindness and warmth of our hosts. When we arrived, we were hours too early and Azziz still welcomed us without any hesitation, served us tea on the balcony and visited with us. He prepared our room earlier than he was expected to, gave us advice for our stay and showed us around the guesthouse. Since that first day, nothing has changed. Lahsen and Azziz are both always asking how we are, if we’re comfortable, making us tea and visiting with us. Azzis even offered to help us make OUR dinner one night after he had been cooking all evening. My partner and I paid for the breakfast and each morning at 8:30, there was freshly baked bread, butter, cream cheese, jams, honey, an egg, orange juice and tea waiting for us and other visitors in the dining area which was always exceptionally clean and comfortable. My partner and I were traveling on a budget and were welcomed to use the kitchen and its utensils whenever we needed to, even a location to store our food. As with any kitchen, be sure to check with the hosts on the best ways to utilize utensils, dishes, appliances, etc. to best maintain their belongings. One evening, we got home very late and our hot water wasn’t working and Azziz did not hesitate to spend the next 30 minutes working to fix the issue, which of course was fixed. I think it is also notable that this hospitality was extended to every guest.

The hard pillows

During our recent trip to Morocco, we had the pleasure of staying at a charming house in the picturesque village of Imlil, nestled in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Location: The house is conveniently located not a long walk from the center of Imlil. The views from the house are great if you face the right side. It's the perfect base for hiking enthusiasts looking to explore the famous Toubkal National Park. Accommodation: The house itself is nicely decorated with traditional Moroccan touches. We loved the cozy living area with its warm, inviting atmosphere — a perfect spot to unwind after a day of trekking. The rooms were spacious and had comfortable beds. Hospitality: The host was incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home. Amenities: We appreciated the modern amenities, including reliable Wi-Fi and hot water. There’s also a lovely terrace where we enjoyed our evening tea while soaking in the sunset views.

Food prices and the portion sizes. Lack of toilet paper in the toilet.

This is my second time at Dar Adouss, and as I expected, I had a pleasant stay like my first time, the staff is very serviceable, especially Aziz, who is always reachable and helpful, and for the price, I could not find a better deal in Imlil, very affordable for a good quality stay. Thank you
