Breakfast was delicious

Welcoming staff. Pleasant and quaint room. Sadly we had a family emergency and had to curtail our stay. But we will be back soon to sample the restaurant.

Parking was a little bit awkward for a one night stay. Needed to move between car parks.

We didn’t try the restaurant but had a drink - the food looked very tasty and the service of the main barman was brilliant. He was super on it along with two other younger bar men & could tell he took a lot of pride in the drinks they were making/serving. It was nice to see.

Bathroom - didn’t have a full bath, it’s a half bath - No amenities like toothbrushes, shower caps ect that you would expect when paying so much. Room felt quite small & dated - quite loud being on the road side due to the single glazing. - No drinks in the room - you have to make tea/coffee outside - No WiFi or TV - VERY creaky floorboards so can hear everyone moving around/coming up and down the stairs - Bed was two single beds pushed together which meant you could feel the dip between the mattresses unfortunately

There were quite a few things in our room (4) that looked tired or needed fixing (one of the chairs, a leg on the bath)

Lovely Pub, lovely decor, great staff/service and absolutely delicious food. Dinner and breakfast.

Overall great, but small details that slightly niggled me. No refreshment facilities in rooms. All refreshments were in corridor outside our room. Had to get dressed in morning to make a coffee. No fresh milk, no water to refill kettle. No fresh cups. Just a little disappointing, but not a biggie.

The Rose is very stylish while at the same time being very comfortable and cosy. They focus on the things that really matter: lovely food, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, welcoming staff, and beautiful interior design.

The Rose is not on the seafront, and the views from the rooms are mostly rather uninspiring.
