I greatly enjoyed my stay with Dev and his family. He was extremely kind upon arrival, always asked how I was doing, gave me suggestions of places to visit, and showed me his lovely property. The house is nestled on a quiet side street about 7-8 minute walk from the main road. The family has bikes and scooters to rent and offer meals for their guests at a great price. The A/c works extremely well and it has everything you need for a restful, and rejuvinating stay away from the busy streets/cities! Highly highly recommend !!

Nothing! I just regret not ordering food from the family because it looked very good and also very convenient.

Its away from the main road and party places, so it is more quiet. They serve good food and the garden is beautiful. The owners were always there to help.

They kinda kept pushing for a Yala safari, discrediting the other national parks, so i feel there was a bit of a business incentive there.

The staff! Vish and his helpfulness was the highlight of the stay for me. Vish can answer any question, and help you with anything that you need. I’m thankful to his kindness. The garden is really pretty, you can sit in the outdoor patio and enjoy all the greenery.

As a solo traveler I think this property wasn’t the best choice for me. It is more isolated, there was no chance to mingle with other guests. Also I found the prices bit high for 1 person, considering the room wasn’t central, & did not include AC. Would be ideal for couples regarding cost, vibe, and location!

Our room was very cozy, clean and had everything we needed. The area is quiet, the garden is beautiful and they offer many different services. But most off all the family standed out. They are so kind, obliging and helpful.

Great location. 5 mins walk to lazy lefts and rights and 10mins walk to Sion (which is where we surfed). Close to lots of food options and they have a menu too so we ended up doing breakfast/coffee here everyday. Extended our stay cuz we liked the chill vibe. Vish and Devi are always happy to help with all. We booked a transfer to Ella with a Safari thru them and it was great. Monkeys pass through the gardens in the arvo. Outdoor shower and board storage. A fridge to use and also basic kitchen stuff like chopping board/cutlery/ crockery and a jug. Loved it.!

Very nice hosts. Nice garden. Location close to the main road but quiet. I kind of liked the patio in front of the room, although had a random objects like a jogging machine (???). Many power outlets.

The room is an uncosy fridge. It’s dark even during daytime, basically a place to close yourself in and put an A/C on. Not much airflow, which made it feel a little bit damp. Furniture is plastic and very cheap. The window was small, with frosted glass, blocked by the bed. There were ADS of hostels services inside the room (why do I have to look at an ad for international driving license?)

This was my second stay at Dreams Garden Surf Lodge and the hosts were so welcoming and friendly that it felt like a home from home. Dev and Vish were incredibly helpful and always happy to have a chat. The property is well located, as it is away from the busy main road but close enough to easily walk to Midigama and the beaches. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden and tropical forest, and it is often possible to spot interesting wildlife. My room was spacious and comfortable and had a shady verandah for relaxing and dining. The food is delicious! ... banana pancakes, rice and curry, and roti with dal were some of my favourites. I would definitely stay at Dreams Garden Surf Lodge for a third time!
