Xiamen Marriott Hotel Haicang

The staff there was polite and helpful. What I don't like is how booking.com arrangement. When I arrived , I was informed my booking wasn't in thier system. I was damn tired and have to wait until they arrange the room for me. I was checked in to the room and they verified my card while they checking my reservation with booking.com I was so shocked when my bill turn out RM965.80 instead of RM804 as I book earlier with booking.com If your portal unable to handle my booking , please inform me before I took the hassle take a taxi to the hotel. I am really disappointed with what was happened. Just felt been cheated by booking.com

Like the location and tge view. Dislike the bell service. They didn't want to help us to get a taxi to the airport. Just wanted us to take a hotel car that costs 4 times that of a business van. Hotel breakfast area and bar was not adequately heated.

This hotel was next to Metro line #2 Haicang Business District. Luxuriously decorated Lobby and suite. Marriott titanium members received a room upgrade to a sea view suite which has splendid sea view. Club lounge happy hour each day provided a combination of local and western cuisines. There were two pools, one of which was located exterior garden on the 4th floor and the other one was indoor heated. Staffs were accommodating.

This hotel is clean, the service is fantastic - from check in to restaurant - and the rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The pool is lovely and well maintained. Breakfast was very good and had a huge selection which was frequently replenished. However … it is definitely a business hotel and is very from from not only the beach, but pretty much everything to do. The other strange thing, and this has nothing to do with the hotel per se, but there were a LOT of families with children who were the worst behaved kids I’ve ever seen, anywhere in the world. There is no excuse for a 6ish year old child to be running around the restaurant, climbing on empty chairs of occupied table and under tables (where people were eating) while screaming at the top of his lungs. No one said a word to him or the parents (who were too busy on their phones to discipline or control him). And he wasn’t the only example of this type of behavior in my 24 hours there. I was disappointed that the “beach” outside the hotel was basically just a dirt lot and the room’s harbor view was marred by what looked like industrial buildings and equipment. I spent a night and after spending most of the day and evening in 30-40 minute taxi rides to meals and attractions, I decided to move to a hotel in a better location for me.

I have had the opportunity to stay at quite a few 5* hotels in and around China and this hotel has to be one of the most outstanding ones. The professional and friendly staff, ease of checking in/out, cleanliness of rooms and bathrooms, the breathtaking views day and night as well as the delicious and many food choices at the restaurants breakfast and dinner buffet. A special thank you to Jessica Ma for making my stay so comfortable and enjoyable. Your warm friendly smile and attention to customers every need and comfort is highly commendable. I will most definitely recommend this hotel on your visit to exotic Xiamen!

A very new hotel and quite far from Xiamen city, need to spend time in the transportation. The room is good but the drain system in the shower area is very bad quality. The room is new and quite spacious, the view is also good. I wonder if there are many tourists group staying in the hotel therefore, quite noisy and messy in the lobby and breakfast area. Overall speaking, can stay but may spend time in staying in the room.

Good breakfast. Not too far from metro station.
