Hôtel la Croix Blanche

If you are looking for the experience of staying on Le Mont-Saint Michel then you won't be disappointed. Doing it once is enough. Our room was above the restaurant. There are no elevators so carrying luggage up several flights on a spiral staircase was more than we bargained for. It was lovely to look down on the shops below and being so close to the abbey. Not much water pressure so don't look for a "wake up" shower.

Like the location, on Main Street. We could explore place after group, group tourists left town. Get up early morning to abbey, less crowd. Worth to spend a night in town. Probably best way to visit MSM.

It was fine but if you leave after night, you have to go up on the upper level of the city and enter in a very strange way into the building. I don't know. Prob wouldn't stay here again.

We stayed in very small “cozy” rooms that were perfectly located for exploring Mt Saint Michel. The breakfast was wonderful. The hotel restaurant was just okay and service was extremely slow but you can’t beat the view especially on the porch. Hotel rooms need an update and room triggered our allergies. However we had lovely little views and overall a charming experience.

The personnel was very nice and did everything they could to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable despite the fact that the property was under renovation.

Not modern but it was wonderful to be staying on Mont-Saint-Michelle overnight to visit the monastery after the crowds had left for the night. Had a sea view room which was great. The waiter in the restaurant had an unpleasant attitude and the entree was inedible.

Staff was responsive! I emailed some questions and got a response in 1 day. (Took their advice and brought only small luggage to the island! Lots of stairs.) Hotel is located above restaurant of the same name. Check-in was a bit confusing bc we didn't find the front desk. The restaurant staff called the hotel staff for us. We received detailed instructions and settled in. Staying on the island after hours was well worth it. We could see the tides and moon from our room and could access the ramparts from the hotel. Hotel is close to the abbey, were we saw an evening sound/light show and attended morning prayers.

Little expensive but well worth the money considering the location, the room, and having the island more or less to ourselves from late afternoon until the wave of tourists started to arrive around 10am in the morning. View from our room of the abbey was absolutely stunning.

No air conditioning, but also NO fan. And it was HOT. Had to relocate after two sweltering nights and lost one night's payment. No elevator up to third floor. No one at front desk when we arrived. Great location and maybe fine when it's not so hot.
