The location was walking distance to many interesting resturaunts and places of business. The house is a neat old place. The breakfast offerings were generous.

Parking. No parking near the place. Had to park between 2 and 4 blocks away. Seems to be a Portland thing...

"Always delivers!"

10.0

This place and its sister property are the only place I will stay in Portland. The rooms are fabulous -- especially appreciate the old-fashioned claw foot tubs -- and the facilities are cozy, comfortable, and well appointed. Having access to a well-stocked kitchen is such a treat after travel. And the staff are sweethearts.

cute and well appointed older home with rooms named after writers with a connection to portland. thought my room was comfortable and the AC worked well. it's a good location with lots of nearby restaurants. good breakfast

perhaps i misunderstood the instructions about the parking/unloading bags but the driveway was super narrow and a bit freaky.

"Great area for restaurants"

7.0

The kitchen was very welcoming and everything was self explanatory. Very clean and cosy. Coffee and bagels were good! We liked the large bathroom and bedroom. Room had good lighting with skylight in bathroom.

It was a bit difficult to sleep with the air conditioning running, but would have been too warm without it. No place for parking but with a little effort we found parking in the neighborhood. Very busy area on Saturday night!

"Gem in Portland Area"

10.0

LOVED staying in this 1910 guesthouse! Craftsman style architecture, plenty of built-ins, clawfoot tub, sky-light window to fall asleep under…the house definitely displayed its age but well-kept and clean! Our bathroom was literally next to our room, which I wasn’t thrilled with at first, but really didn’t mind as the house was pretty quiet and private. Breakfast options were the best around and staff was friendly. I’m more of a private person, so the self-check in and check-out were perfect, and we were able to eat by ourselves in the enclosed porch area. I could see street parking might be an issue on busier nights, but we had no problem finding a space, and even if you have to walk, it’s worth it. Thank you!

Right in the heart of my favorite part of Portland. Comfy beds, very clean, cozy homey rooms. Really everything one could need. My only complaint is the A/C in the Kinsey room is loud. But in the middle of summer, you need to have it on.
