Kona Koa Lodge

Absolutely loved our stay at aloha Koa! Fiji and Gerard were incredible hosts who helped organize our entire stay on the island. They had amazing recommendations and set us up with a wonderful tour guide - thank you Tai!!

On booking it said breakfast was included however there was no breakfast at the hotel. This was not a big deal at all as we were so busy with our amazing tours anyways :)

The bungalow was absolutely lovely and the views were incredible. Loved that it had a small kitchen including stove and mini fridge for easy coffee and breakfast items. Jerome and Fiji helped coordinate our rental car (yes, get one) and local guides for tours.

No complaints! It’s a bit outside of town but we knew that going into it. Wi-Fi was spotty in the room but it worked! We didn’t go to Rapa Nui to sit on the internet

Beautiful views, very lovely, beautifully crafted and restful rooms. The staff (family) was excellent! They arranged a rental car and guide for us. The guide was excellent!! They also picked us up at the airport and dropped us off. Having our own stove top and refrigerator was very nice after weeks of restaurant food. The grocery store in town had a very nice selection of food and drinks.

Traditional style and individual cabins allowed for privacy and each has a nice deck.

Local dogs and roosters were a bit noisy at night but one just needs to bring some earplugs!

Our stay at Kona Koa was awesome! It is a serene and peaceful place to stay. Fiji and Jerome, father and daughter, were very hospitable,warm, and kind. Our cottage was a quaint Polynesian inspired style. I felt at home. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you, everyone, at Kona Koa.

The Kona Koa Lodge is a perfect accommodation on Rapa Nui. The property is outside of the main town of Hanga Roa so it feels secluded and quiet. You will hear the chickens and the dogs at times during the night or early morning, but it's all part of the ambiance -- which includes wild horses roaming nearby, island breezes, colorful flowers and a sea view. Fiji is a great host. She picked us up at the airport, pointed out several places in town and gave us her WhatsApp number in case we had any questions or needed any reservations. It was only my wife and I in our bungalow but with an extra loft space and futon in the living room you could easily stay with a family of 4 or 5, or with 4 adult friends. The water pressure and temperature were unexpectedly amazing. Internet speed and stability were also surprisingly good; we were able to sustain several Facetime calls back to the US with no problems. The bed is extremely comfortable, the linens are nice, and they clean the room each day. If you're wondering where to get your guide and if you should rent a car, just save yourself the time and stress and do both through Kona Koa. The guide they booked for us, Tai, was fantastic and great to have conversations with. She also drove the car so my wife and I could marvel at the countryside on the way to the various sites. So if you're reading this reasearching lodging on Easter Island, stop and look no further -- Kona Koa is the place to stay!

A fantastic stay! Such a beautiful setting - an amazing view with sunsets over the ocean, wonderful cabin with everything you need, and peace and quiet just a short stroll (or drive) from town. The tours that were organised for us were brilliant too. Fiji and Jerome were such great hosts - Merci!
