Hotel Sol y Mar

Gino was very helpful. Room was ok but tired. We had to have Gino take our luggage up the hill in his 4 wheel drive truck. The town is dumpy with narrow dirt road. Dinning was fine. Snorkeling was great, BUT it requires a 1.5 hour ride each way in open water in a 20’ boat. On the way out we sat in the front of the boat. About every 5 minutes the boat smash down with me wondering if the boat and my back were going to break. Sit in the back of boat!

We loved our stay. Geno our host was so welcoming & helpful. The breakfast was very nice with fresh juice & fruit. The stairs were ok, but may not be great for all travelers. Geno will try to be available to help with luggage if you give him an estimated arrival time. He has great suggestions for restaurants, tours & kayak rentals. We would definitely recommend!!

Beautiful view over the ocean. Alejandra the host is very friendly end helpful. Breakfast is great. Rooms are basic, but spacious enough and clean. Due to construction work (workers are building extra rooms next to the pool), it doesn’t feel comfortable to use the swimming pool. PS. If you are not fit, it’s quite a climb up the stairs to reach the room.

The gardening, the location on the hill, nice view, the breakfast the number of beds the AC quality, the internet speed were all good to excellent.

The shower knobs for hot and cold water were falling apart, very hard to operate. The shower head, just like the water knobs, has seen its better days. Regrettable cheap feel, for no good reason. Doesn’t cost too much to repair/replace. The restaurant/pool area could look a bit more polished, it was a bit too informal, economic feel, but the service was always great.

Alejandra was very friendly and helpful about every requests we have made. The pool was nicely situated with lounging chairs facing the ocean. Breakfasts and meals were very good!

That didn’t bother me but it is located on a steep hill that need to be walked up and down. So not really appropriate for people having mobility issues.

Agradecemos al ayudante del hotel, Gino, toda la ayuda e informacion facilitada desde nuestra llegada hasta nuestra salida. Gino ha hecho que nuesyra estancia en el hotel y en Santa Catalina haya sido un exito. El hotel esta ubicado en un entorno privilegiado, pero con mucha pendiente.

Close to the beach and with a pool! Super nice owner who joined us for some drinks and had some super funny stories to tell.

The owner is a fantastic person who cares about his guests. Very helpful and knowledgeable about the region and Panama in general..great pool really nice in this heat.

This region is still very rural so accommodations are good but do not expect luxury.

Nice Room with great view! The common area is also lovely with a swimming pool, bar and a pool table. Breakfast was delicious. Gino was very friendly and helpful with tips for activities and the area.

Not a bad thing but as an information: the rooms are located on a hill and you need to walk up some stairs to get there. But Gino will bring your luggage up with the car;)
