Cabañas Christophe

Picturesque spot on the outskirts of Hanga Roa, with views of the volcano, sea, and even the remains of an old ahu. Occasional street noise during the day from motorbikes whizzing by but totally peaceful in the evening, with only the sound of waves in the distance. Great communication with the hosts, who provided transport from and to the airport, along with lots of local information animatedly conveyed by Christophe in his French accent. Clean room with comfortable beds, excellent wifi, modern shower. As our apartment did not have a stove, breakfast of fresh bread, eggs, ham, and cheese was provided each morning. We could stroll along the ocean's cliff edge and enjoy the sunset from our patio. A great little getaway!

An air conditioner would have been nice - it gets humid, but we got by fine with a large fan. The only downside might be the distance from restaurants in town, which is a longish walk unless using a taxi or renting a car. In our case, we were mostly spending our days with guides who picked us up and dropped us off at the accommodations, so this was not a big problem.

Christophe & Rosario were absolutely wonderful! Had some snafus with my flights and they were so accommodating and understanding and gracious! Also, the location is wonderful, Christophe met me at the airport and also accommodated a late checkout. They even have a car and scooter on premises to rent as needed! Such a wonderful place and fantastic stay!

Christophe is very knowledgeable and friendly, we really enjoy our stay at Christophe Cabana. His tour is highly recommended. If you stay here, you must do the crater lake. It is right at the trail head.

Il bungalow era spazioso e confortevole. La comoda veranda ad uso esclusivo è un plusvalore della sistemazione e dà su un giardino comune assai grazioso. La posizione è invidiabile dal punto di vista geografico e naturalistico: essa gode probabilmente del miglior panorama di ponente, poiché le cabanas sono immediatamente prospicienti alla Punta Baquedano, sopra la Cannibal Cave - Ana Kai Tangata, in lingua locale - da cui si possono godere dei tramonti formidabili, se si ha la fortuna (a noi mancata) di avere l'orizzonte sgombro di nuvole. Proprio di fronte alla struttura, inoltre, si può scendere da un ripido sentiero alla Mataveri Bay, dove si può anche fare il bagno, SE IL MARE NON E' MOSSO! Altrimenti, sia ben chiaro, è il caso di NON FARLO! Il gestore è disponibile a pagamento a guidare un tour dei migliori siti dell'isola con dettagliate informazioni storico-archeologiche. E' inoltre possibile noleggiare un'auto - se disponibile - direttamente da lui in loco. Abbiamo amato il silenzio e la tranquillità del posto

Le informazioni date su Booking riguardo la posizione non sono del tutto precise/esaurienti: le cabanas si trovano effettivamente a poco più di 1 kilometro da Hanga Roa, ma per arrivare al centro dell'abitato ove si trovano i negozi, i ristoranti ed i servizi che più occorrono al turista occorre camminare per almeno 2 kilometri. Il "camminamento" citato nelle info è uno sterrato semi-fangoso che sconsiglio di percorrere di notte (la strada è buia). Ritengo assolutamente necessario noleggiare un veicolo, auto o moto, per tutti i giorni della permanenza. L'arredamento ed il corredo accessori del bungalow erano decisamente troppo minimalisti per le nostre esigenze. I letti sono molto comodi, ma abbiamo sudato terribilmente ogni notte, in parte poiché il materasso è probabilmente di materiale sintetico, (ma questo è un nostro problema personale), in parte poiché l'unica coperta disponibile era una trapunta di tipo invernale, assolutamente inadatta alla stagione calda (dormire solo col lenzuolo, tuttavia, era insufficiente perché le notti erano piuttosto fresche); un semplice copriletto in aggiunta al lenzuolo sarebbe stato perfetto

Very kind hosts, lovely accommodation in a pleasant garden setting. The apartment was very spacious, with seating in the kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped. Breakfast was fine – fresh pastries, butter, and jam. We rented a motorbike from the hosts, which was very helpful since everything would otherwise be quite far away. The advantage of the location outside the city was the beautiful peace, nature, and overall relaxing atmosphere

Honestly, there’s nothing to complain about—just that the breakfast could be improved with some fruit or vegetables, especially for a more varied diet during a longer stay.

Que l'on soit venu me chercher et me ramener à l'aéroport. La grandeur de la chambre qui est en fait un petit appartement avec cuisine et salle de bain. Le tout est propre, confortable et bien équipé. La possibilité de voir de beaux couchers de soleil en faisant quelques dizaines de mètres. Que le propriétaire parle français.

Que l'excursion d'une journée d'excursion proposée par l'hôtelier par écrit quelques jours avant ma venue n'ait pas pu se faire car j'étais le seul client intéressé. Christophe a trouvé une solution de rechange : une excursion avec un guide parlant l'espagnol que je comprends partiellement. Il était sympathique mais se contentait de reprendre à son compte les légendes du peuple Rapa Nui dont il est membre.

Christophe and Rosario have the best spot in the Island - spectacular sunsets!! They are fabulous hosts, assisting with everything and providing all kind of information.
