La Cascina del Castello is the loveliest agriturismo we’ve been to in Italy. It’s a quiet and calm place with beautiful surroundings. The people who run the hotel are very kind and helpful and made sure we had the best time. We stayed for a week and except for one evening we had dinner here every night, because it was so good: the authentic five course menus with regional products were as excellent as they could possibly get. Fausto, the son of the owners, is an expert winemaker and presented us some of his delicious creations; of course, we took some bottles home. Our son (1 year) also really enjoyed the place, especially because Anna and Silvana were so sweet to him.

The 24/7 swimming pool is a much needed luxury during the hot Italian summer. Due to very few other guests in July, it felt like having had rented a private villa. The breakfast was a very pleasant suprise, with natural jogurt and jam, two excellent cakes and cappuccinos served to table and to the terrace. There's luckily no odour from the stables, although they are right next to the villa.

Unfortunately the restaurant wasn't open and we didn't think to ask about it in advance. Having to drive to eat out after a long trip instead of enjoying some wine at the location was a bit of a bummer.

SUPER friendly hosts and nice breakfast. location is also nice and rooms are spacious.

Bathrooms are very old and require renovation. Stains/dirt on bathroom tiles and on towels.

Silvana was a marvelous host. She and the other hosts let us feel at ease. We booked for a dinner that was prepaired by her and the daughter and was deliciously served by them with all care. Do not expect it to be a conventional hotel, since it is a rural property. But it was a very good experience. To the records, they produce a Grignolino that is worthwhile tasting.
