Tanunda Cottages

Breakfast was good, liked having filtered drinking water as we usually take our own .

Das haus ist sehr hübsch, gut ausgestattet und auch das Frühstück war sehr lecker. Das Zentrum von tanunda ist zu Fuß gut zu erreichen, falls jemand während einer hitzewelle dort ist, auch das lokale Schwimmbad ist sehr modern und gut.

The location for these cottages was great, we were able to easily walk down the main street to grab something to eat. Breakfast provisions were a nice touch. We were hoping to leave our car and check in at a later time during the day but we were fortunate enough to get an earlier check in time - great communication with host

The cottage is located 5-10 minutes walk from shops and restaurants. It has a private drive and the hosts provided very good instructions on how to access inside. Breakfast was provided and there were lots of utensils if you wanted to cook anything. There was outside seating both at the front and rear of the cottage.

We arrived on an extremely hot day (over 40 degrees) and although there was an air conditioning unit in the front lounge it was very noisy. We tried to pick the coolest room to sleep in and there was a portable fan provided. Unfortunately there must have been a tree outside that had branches rubbing against the tin roof in the nights as it was very creaky (and a bit spooky to be honest!). The bed covering was too thick for the heat but we did find a thinner blanket in the wardrobe. You do need to keep covered as the mozzies did try and attack us. It was a little bit more old-fashioned than I had expected but still very comfortable.

This was such a quaint and charming home in wine country. It was central to where we wanted to be. The master bed was super comfy, and there was a nice bowl of snacks and milk and orange juice for us on arrival.

One bed was not as clean as we’d have liked and the furniture was quite small for my husband and son who are both 6’6”. The original flooring in the front room was very noisy and woke our kids up when we left the master bed, but these things can’t be helped and added to the charm of an older home.
