Historic building features Facilities were far better than I expected

The room

We were delighted to take up the hosts offer of dinner on arrival as we had our own breakfast with us. This flexibility was great as we hadn't realised how small a town Port Germian was. It left us free to walk the pier at night and get on our way quickly in the morning. Lovely to meet you both and thank you for your delightful location in an historical building.

If there were more guests, sharing the bathroom could have been difficult but we expect that you will manage how many people are in the house at once. For the 4 of us it was fine sharing with the hosts.

Not much. I did have the communal bathroom to myself as no other guests in house so that's a bonus. The property doesn't resemble the images used on booking.com Caravans, batteries on chargers, clutter everywhere. A hallway area with a kettle mugs and tea etc was provided.I didn't use this area. Place is like a dorm house

1.No one there when I arrived and I was exhausted.My initial impression was OMG. The screen door needed a good wash and there was clutter all around the house.Vans and batteries like a tip. 2. Room hadn't been prepared from previous guest- sheets were dirty and bed was roughly pulled up and had been slept in. I stripped the bed and used my sleeping bags and pillows. The mattress cover was disgusting. 3. Used towel draped on the back of the chair- no fresh towels as in images shown on website. I used my own. 4. The lamps shades are all broken and hanging. 4. Bathroom is their laundry and bathmats were on floor with all other personal items . 5. Fridge was off in my room and smelt. 6. The owner had guests staying in a van. They sat outside my window drinking wine and eating chips whilst they had an overseas call on speaker talking in foreign language. I went out at 10 pm and asked if they wanted me to leave as I felt very unwelcome. I'd been up since 4 am so was exhausted. I spoke to owner next morning and told her my room hadn't been made up and was given the generic response- oh I'll speak to the cleaner. You fobbed me off and didn't offer me a cuppa or any apology, went across the road to your neighbours so I left. You live there sweetheart, have some accountability and don't blame a mystery cleaner or bang on about it being a heritage house. Take a look at your photos and compare them to what you're presenting now. The other room hadn't been prepared either. So I Don't know how you're still regd on booking com

I booked it at 7pm and arrived at 10pm. The owner greeted me and had everything set up. The room was large and had a nice table and chairs in it by the bay window. The TV had netflix etc, the bed was comfortable; the bathroom was huge and had a great shower. It's a shared bathroom but only shared among 3 rooms so I never had to wait. Lovely little garden to sit in as well.

The location is great. The room was clean and the bed was comfy.

Not suitable for someone who doesn’t like shared bathroom. But I feel comfortable with that.
