Monastery Estate Retreat

Really liked the mountain setting, very calm and peaceful. Beautiful design in the hotel. Staff were absolutely brilliant - great team - and gave the impression of genuinely valuing and respecting their guests. Loved the plunge pools. Quiet! Nice restaurant recommendations.

Difficult to think of anything I didn't like. I guess some written information about the various nearby walks (e.g. maps) might have been helpful. as not super easy to find online. A bigger iron in the room to neaten up clothes?!

Great location for exploring the mountains and gorges. Really nice helpful staff on hand for your every need.

The property is lovely, in the minimalist monastery estate style.

L’emplacement : proche de Sougia en voiture et en même temps perdu en pleine nature afin de pouvoir profiter du calme, du repos et de la beauté des montagnes. La gentillesse et bienveillance de l’équipe (qui nous a offert un dessert après notre journée de randonnée et le petit déjeuner le dernier matin). Ils étaient aux petits soins pour qu’on se sente comme des rois et que notre séjour se déroule parfaitement. La chambre magnifiquement décorée et le cadre incroyable. Ces quelques jours étaient une parenthèse de pur bonheur dans un petit coin de paradis, parfait pour se ressourcer.

The breakfasts can be a touch more refined.

The room was very clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly, offering great recommendations. The room looked exactly like it did in the pictures. The location is also excellent for visiting Samaria Gorge and Lissos, with Sougia just a short drive away.

The balcony of our room wasn’t as private as we had expected. It faced the parking lot and was next to a corridor with people passing by.

Zutiefst stylisch, ruhig und privat. Mit den privaten Pools je Zimmer/Appartment Luxus pur. Der Blick im die Berge ein Genuss - das (nahe) Meer als Blick fehlt einem gar nicht. Das Angebot „Essen aufs Zimmer“ haben wir nur fürs Frühstück genutzt; der Service war auch hier sehr zuvorkommend und privat.

Der Aufenthaltsraum (Terrasse) zwischen Zimmer und Pool fühlt sich nur groß genug an wenn man die Terrassentür ganz wegschiebt.

This was the perfect start to our holiday in Crete. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are tastefully designed and having a private pool is always nice :) But the most amazing part of this place is the staff. They are so kind, caring, and attentive, they made every part of our stay perfect, from suggesting activities, to restaurants, to safe places to run! We really didn’t want to leave and almost didn’t!

Absolutely nothing… would have liked to take the cats home with us.

Un posto incantevole, immerso nella montagna sopra Sougia. Il Monastery si trova in montagna, ma a pochi minuti dal mare! Un’oasi di relax! L’hotel manager ed il personale che lavora lì sono squisiti. E pronti ad assisterti per qualunque necessità. Le stanze sono finemente arredate, e la piscina nella stanza è un plus! La colazione poi viene servita in camera con room service quotidiano. E’ un luogo che amerete se cercate tranquillità, riservatezza e contatto con la natura !
